After an awful experience with there outsourced online customer service department. Finally getting a call from Stephen a case manager and the customer service from Andrew and the guys in the TV and Technical department in the Nottingham store was fantastic.
This in-store experience is what you should be replicating online, it's killing your reputation when the store experience is so very different.
Its makes a massive difference to the shopping experience and I would hesitate to come back into store to purchase in future.

I remember when all this was Jessops. Any I guess you only need so much space for cameras and binoculars so not surprising John and his partners brought in the rest of it. Shame but he does now have nice buns.

At the prices they charge in the cafe you might expect first class cleanliness. But the teaspoons at the checkout were disgraceful. Obviously just bunged in the dishwasher, not checked before reuse and they were stained and smeared. Just not acceptable anywhere, let alone JL.

I had carpets fitted in four rooms with the same colour carpet but they have fitted different carpets and colours in the bedrooms.
They have terrible after sales and do not respond to emails and do not return your calls. I am still no further in getting the carpets changed to the correct colour.
Do not use this department for carpets as they also only come out to measure in the daytime no good if you work and we waited double the timescale for fitting.
I will not be using this company again for any products. It once had a good name but not now.

Allways visit John Lewis when in Nottingham. Great choice of goods and all good quality. Whatever you can think of is usually there. Very helpful staff who are not pushy at all. The Christmas setup this year looks fantastic

Always a good experience shopping here. Helpful, knowledgeable & polite staff. Have tried other places,which have been a waste of time. Returned again yesterday got a new Dyson as cheap as anywhere, plus a few additional goods. Also looking forward to John Lewis fitting our stair carpet in time for Christmas. Again much more professional than Hillary's blinds & carpets.

I was looking for a specific chair I saw online. It said it was in stock. Once I got there, went to furniture and was then sent to 3 different floors only to learn there was none on stock. Do the lesson is phone BEFORE you go.

Arrived at the restaurant at 11.15 looking forward to a hot breakfast. A lady handed me a tray I then joined a short queue for the hot food. A lady was preparing three breakfasts then rushed out with someones poached egg she came back then asked the customers what bread they wanted for the toast she then proceeded to put the toast on. Then asked them what drinks they wanted. Throughout this 10 mins waiting a young man was stood next to the server by the till just watching I gave up and left handing the tray back to the tray lady. I dread to think how long it would take to get served if it was busy.

Staff at John Lewis are the the most helpful and knowledgeable regarding the products in store. I don't know if this is down to training or John Lewis have been very lucky. Other high street stores would do well to follow suit.

John Lewis, some of the best for experience, just like their stores Waitrose! Staff are always fantastic ready to help, and there are plenty of them around, even when it's busy. Only thing I could possibly complain about is the price of some things, and the amount of escalators that are broken, but there is a lot of footfall in there!

Best department store. Staff are generally excellent unless you visit the bedding department to buy a basic duvet! Then they seem not to care too much!! I encountered a rude and grumpy older member of staff who seemed not to want to help me. Unfortunately I purchased a duvet from wilkos instead.

This review relates to the online purchase of electrical goods and aftercare - not the store.
I bought an ASUS tablet online from John Lewis almost 2 years ago and it suddenly stopped charging. I checked the manufacturer warranty which was only a year and thought I'd just check the John Lewis warranty just in case. 2 years! So I phoned them up and they asked me to take it to my local store. This isn't convenient for me because I have two young boys and it's a 16 mile round trip so I posted it instead. They've refunded me the postage and the store have already looked at it (a couple of days later). It should be on its way back to me soon. Every person I have come into contact with has been absolutely fantastic. Polite, helpful and friendly. And my tablet isn't even that new! What this experience has convinced me of is that the aftercare service with John Lewis is worth paying a few extra pounds for and I will DEFINITELY be buying future electrical goods from them. Thank you!
