Dr Venkat was absolutely lovely. But this clinic was not the right fit for me.
When you read reviews of places, it’s always a mixed bag. But I’d like to reiterate the advice of someone else I had read earlier... do your research and trust your instincts. For the amount you are spending, another consultation elsewhere is negligible. It’s better to be absolutely happy with the choice you make.

Currently extremely annoyed with this company. My partner and I are going through IVF as part of the egg share program. She has been put on medication to link her cycle with the receiving doner of her eggs. There was initially confusion with how long she should be taking her tablets (received 17 days worth, but told to take 10 by one person, and then 17 by another??). 9 days in, and my partners period has started (heavily, painful and stressful). She has been constantly calling the clinic to advise them that she has started her period, and requested to know if this is normal, and what the next steps / follow up plan is (we have been kept in the dark about this). After calling them 3 days in a row, she has been told that someone will call her back - no surprise to me, they haven't. I now have an emotional suffering partner, who is going through this delicate stressful process, with no communication and complete lack of support from the clinic. Horrific service and very disheartening to what should be a process made easier by the clinic.

I'm writing this in hope other women read this review before consider using their services. I have been to another clinic after visiting this one and I can compare both. HSFC has very outdated machines. Doctors were only nice on my first consultation. On the follow up - which was a reading of my blood exam - she didn't explain anything to me. I felt like she was waiting for me to ask questions but they didn't send me my blood exam with me so I didn't even know what to ask. At the end It was rushed and the explanation very superficial.
I asked if they could please send me my blood exam, and after a couple of hours I had it, so I contacted the clinic to book another call so I could better understand my results. They said they would charge ( a large sum of money I must say ) me for the follow up and I was so disappointed that I decided to go for another clinic. I preferred to pay more to do it all over again with another clinic than stay with HSFC. I think they lack ethic and professionalism. They charge the same as other clinics, however their equipment is old, their staff needs training and their doctors need to be more passionate o for what they do. I felt robbed, but at the end it was a good thing because I decided to go for another clinic and OMG, such a difference. Their equipment was SO much better, the doctors were so attemptive and thorough on their explanation, during and after procedure. So maybe It was good that I received such a bad treatment from this clinic because I am very happy to not have gone forward with Harley fertility clinic. I recommend any women that has had their first consultation with them to visit another clinic before they making a final decision.

I was with Harley Street Fertility clinic for a year and had undergone multiple IVF cycles. To say that it was a positive experience would be a lie. Often the majority of appointments running late and the doctors treated you more like a number rather than a person. Our first cycle I had my beta blood work and progesterone blood work done early on Saturday morning and was called an hour before close to pick up more progesterone. My husband rushed to get there (we live outside of London) and asked for the needles (he meant injections). The receptionist then handed him a SEALED bag and off he went home. When we got home, I went to take my injection and found I only had syringes in the bag. The doctor knew I was coming to get my progesterone prescription, because they had put me on a higher dosage. I then called their out of hours number and talked to Dr Venkat. She told me that she couldn't do anything for me, it was my husband's fault for asking for needles and that the nurses had asked him if he meant the medication (this was a lie). I then asked her if she could send the prescription to a chemist for me and she said no. When I asked her what would happen to my baby, she said that my beta was low anyways and that without the progesterone I could lose the baby. I cried to her on the phone, this was my first positive pregnancy test in 5 years. I begged her to not let me lose the baby because of this. She told me to not put this on her and she said 'any loss is your husband's fault'. She then hung up the phone on me. An hour later she called me back and agreed to send in a prescription.
After that I did a further 2 rounds of IVF with them, I felt trapped there as I had 12 frozen embryos and didn't want to discard them. After each failed cycle, it appeared to me that the treatment provided contradicted my issues that caused my infertility. For example, I have elevated killer cells, but was given a scratch and transferred 2 embryos at a time. This would cause more killer cells to attack the cervix. When I suggested this could be why the transfer wasn't successful in my follow up with the Dr, the dr acknowledged this could have had an impact and that we could do it differently the following time. Surely the doctor would have considered this before my transfer, especially since they are the experts? After having various tests, treatments and procedures done, I felt deflated and gave up.
This story has a happy ending, 3 years later without any IVF or medical support, I gave birth to a healthy baby boy. While I do not regret trying through IVF, I wish I took the time to research clinics carefully and hope sharing my experience will help people find the right clinic for them. X

Based on our individual experience I would not recommend.
I am sharing this review as I would like for people to be aware of our issues and if it may help other people either choose a more suitable clinic for your requirements or help to be more prepared for the process than we were and hopefully then more successful!
• We will be accommodating with appointment times;
This was not the case and often there is no flexibility. Be prepared as the “patient” to be flexible here as your cycle will dictate when you have to visit the clinic. Often expected to attend appointments in the middle of the day.
• Check your medication is correct before you leave your appointment;
I was sent home without the correct doses of medication. After calling a number of times to check from 8.30am the following day. I eventually got to speak to someone who confirmed this was the case at 4pm. My husband had to travel back in to London to collect in order for me to take the correct dose.
• Be prepared for issues;
Unfortunately we had an issue at egg collection. This is a very personal experience for everyone and you will likely be faced with various up’s and down’s throughout the process. Everyone will be different.
To learn from our experience. Just ask upfront “what can go wrong” at every stage! Our issue was apparently, as we were told by the nurses & Doctor , a very common one. Unfortunately we only learnt about this when we were faced with the problem on the day. There was never a conversation about this being a common problem beforehand and what could be done before the day to be prepared for a common problem at this critical stage. After investing emotionally and financially so much to get to the stage, we were given options to keep moving forward with our cycle although we were told the outcome is unlikely to be as successful. All these decisions having to be made after weeks of hormones and just awakening from a general anesthetic.

I was a private patient who booked a SIS ultrasound to be done as it was being requested by my doctor in US by then in dec last year. I got there on time however I had to wait for another hour. the worst bit was being examined by a woman who came in while I was still waiting at the reception. I almost had a heart attack when I saw her in the room. she was panicking and she kept on asking me what type of ultrasound im doing. I was so nervous and then going through this made me think they did not care about me as a person but rather were only interested in the money I paid. I went through physical pain during the examination and thats when I knew she did not know what she was doing. this has affected me until this day as I always feel anxious when I visit any gynecologist for examination

If you’re looking for a reputable fertility clinic, then you should definitely pay a visit to the Harley Street Fertility Clinic. The clinic is of high standards and you’ll notice this as soon as you walk in. The staff are very pleasant and professional. My treatment co-ordinator (Carina) was brilliant. She was so attentive, organised and reliable. Dr Venkat (the main consultant) clearly has a significant amount of knowledge in this field. She promptly answered all my queries and she was able to reassure me about my concerns and also provide me with some honest advise. I would like to say a big thank you to the staff at the Harley Street Fertility Clinic! :)

Nice staff. Like many private clinics they do oversell on tests and theories that aren’t backed with sufficiently robust clinical evidence. They don’t go for a hybrid IVF/ICSI approach like some clinics, so if you fail IVF and require ICSI your total bill will be considerably higher.

As soon as you walk in the reception, the atmosphere is friendly and you feel welcomed. Every member of staff, from doctors to nurses and admin, are very professional, knowledgeable and very caring. The receptionists even offer you coffee and tea!
The treatment options are affordable and the doctors are really good at being patient and explaining every single option available for you. I had the opportunity to be treated by the director of the clinic and she has been very encouraging and straight forward when giving me my options of conceiving. She was also very honest when it came to talk about the costs and what would be the best strategies for my husband and I. I can honestly say that the level of caring is very personal and it made me feel at ease. I definitely recommend Harley Street Fertility Clinic to any couple who has problems conceiving because you will not find better care for your money and needs.

They can improve by not constantly and forcefully overselling, actually see people on time, especially as they charge a fortune the least they could do is stick to patient booking times they need to make sure their staff read the notes!!!! and not ask they patient what they were supposed to give and most importantly not employ the use of Debt Collection Agencies!!!! When a simple email or telephone call would suffice to resolve their issues, I think the GM needs to learn some personal skills and then train his team!!! definitely not worth the recommendation especially as there are many other clinics around, would avoid at all costs!!!

The first time we came, we did so because we had read an article on Mail online. We had been trying for a baby for about 2 years with no success and had already undergone one unsuccessful round of IVF in Denmark. We booked our appointment and met with The lovely Dr.Venkat. She talked us through our different options and me being and older mum what the risks and possibilities were maintaining a realistic and honest approach about our options. She advised us that we had to undergo all the necessary tests to understand the underlying issues which we did. The staff have become family here and I trust them all 100%, they are very caring and considerate and I didn’t feel like just a number here. From the warmest welcome from the lovely receptionists to the talented and warm nurses, not forgetting the Dr. Shruba and Dr. Chaza who cheered me on with her lovely smile and warmth at every scan I did. I am over the moon to tell whoever is reading this that we are pregnant with our first baby, our little fish (miracle). It was our first trial and we have just had our first 7 week scan, we are so grateful to Dr.Venkat for taking us on and for doing all that’s necessary to get us to this stage with a lot of help from God. I need to also send a special thanks to the dream team at HSFC - Adrian, Rachel, Margarita, Marion, Bernie. We will be eternally grateful and we will be back for baby No.2. A huge ‘Thank you’.

My partner had 2 IVf cycles at this clinic. The first was unsuccessful and the 2nd was successful but resulted in miscarriage. Dr.Venkat seems like a great fertility doctor but unfortunately her time is not managed properly and there are constant issues with waiting time. The clinic clearly takes on too many patients for her to deal with. In some cases we had to wait an hour for a scan. It wasn’t just a one off that our appointments were delayed, it’s every single appointment. Waiting for blood test results takes an excessive amount of time as well. When we were waiting to find out whether we were heading for a miscarriage we were left waiting for 8 hours in suspense. Even after chasing the reception desk that can’t speak good English we were fobbed off. The year we have been using the clinic there has been a constant change of nurses and doctors. Some of the nurses seem in-experienced and in some cases show a lack of compassion. Saying that, there are 2 experienced nurses in Rachel and Tanya who do a really good job. We experienced many other faults with this clinic that shouldn’t happen for the money you pay and we’ll be finding a new clinic for our next attempt.

Dangerous and unethical
I took the decision to go through 1 round of egg freezing with this clinic as a insurance policy for me and my boyfriend after a positive AMH level confirmation of 18.5 (I am 33). This is a decision I now bitterly regret and am pursuing further action.
There was such a long catalog of errors that it would take too long to list them all but they include- being oversold hundreds of pounds worth of medication I didn’t use and didn’t need as no one was checking my gonal F doses properly, one of the nurses collapsing one of my veins during a routine blood test and most worryingly of all I was misprescribed the wrong medication post egg retrieval and was prescribed medication for a IVF patient. This was clearly potentially dangerous and due to the side effects I experienced post operation when I started taking this medication I took myself off it after 48 hours after seeking medical advice from a family friend. When I called up the clinic to ask why I had been put on the medication I was given conflicting advice.
My partner and I then went in for a follow up consultation to complain during which the clinic tried to sell us another round of egg freezing!! I was told that the number of eggs I had retrieved in the first round wasn’t the optimum number they would want and that it’s normal practice to have 2-3 rounds of egg freezing. We were shocked as it was the first time the clinic had told us we would need a second round, having been told during the process that my fertility levels were excellent and that I was responding well to the medication. It became apparent that this clinic is interested only in making money and are completely unethical.
When we complained about the IVF medication mistake and asked to be refunded for the wrong medication I was prescribed we were told they would follow up with our doctor and be in touch. After three weeks of waiting we had to chase and received a call from Dr Venkats son (the General Manager) who did not apologise and completely threw our doctor under the bus, claiming that the clinic holds no responsibility for the multiple mistakes and unethical behavior and would not refund the medication we were wrongly prescribed and paid for. They have not even provided us with details to contact our Dr (who no longer appears to be working at the clinic accordingly to their website) or follow up with her insurance company. We are still chasing and still waiting for a response. Appalling.
We were unsure as to whether to leave this review as although the process has been extremely upsetting we aren’t trying for a baby currently so are able to move on with our lives. However I cannot begin to think how horrendous this would have been for anyone actively trying to get pregnant. This clinic is dangerous, unethical and focused only on making money. In fact this experience has left us to believe that although not perfect the NHS offers more integrity and patient care then given at this clinic, despite paying thousands of pounds.
Would not recommend. Please do seek treatment at other clinics that won’t rob you blind and mistreat you like these crooks.
