Lyradical Underscore
Visited during a wet lunchtime and the store was surprisingly quiet considering it’s location. It’s one of the bigger Paperchase stores I’ve visited and I liked the wide range. I also liked the fact that the store assistant didn’t pester or watch me as I browsed. I was also pleased to get a 20% discount on my shopping by signing up to their loyalty card - winner!

I loved it the last time I was there, but when I went back today, they seemed to not sell any sketchbooks anymore :/ Lots of notebooks, cards, pens ect, but I really really just wanted a simple sketchbook when I was there.

I love the products Paperchase sells.
Unfortunately, this store has some of the most rude and unfriendly staff members I have ever met. The girl at the till was chewing gum with her mouth open and looked at me with a dirty look for putting the little basket on the counter... and she held her eyes on me, almost telling me to GTFO for bringing that basket. Then she asked for payment for my items and no question if I needed the receipt, no thank you, no goodbye. I would have taken it personally if it weren't for the fact that the lady and gentlemen before me received the same customer service. She was not wearing any type of uniform, she was not wearing any name tag. I will still choose Paperchase for their lovely products, just not this particular store. What a shame, so close to Christmas and so Grinch-y.

If you are not the kind of person whose heart is filled with joy at breaking out a fresh, crisp page of some perfectly textured paper, and placing the nib of your favourite pen to it, or if you don't understand that there can be more than one kind of perfect pen, depending on your mood, you will probably never understand the appeal of Paperchase.
Since childhood I have loved notebooks, pens, and the infinite creative possibilities that they represent. And as I age, I spend more time trying to find pens that work well with my arthritic hands and fibromyalgia. The wrong grip and/or ink flow and my hand just cramps and the flow of my handwriting stutters to a tight, illegible knot.
If you're reading this and nodding to yourself, get thee to this shop. It's full of lovely paper and pens, notebooks, diaries, recipe binders and to-do lists that become I didn't lists. But that won't matter because you can peel that accusing sheet from the pad and recycle it, happy that a fresh page can bring fresh hope.
Also, staff are genuinely lovely even in the mad Christmas shopping period, and were very kind as I bumbled round in my wheelchair, attempting to destroy as few POS displays as possible. Looking forward to regaining a sensible turning circle in there once the Christmas stuff is gone.
