A collection of overpriced goods that are not even worth it. Most members of staff are rude and abrupt even when customers try to be polite. Do not waste your time in this so-called place of business. There are so many people out of work who would love to have a job. Why not find people who are willing to work hard and are good with customers?
From the comments below, it is obvious that the goods are overpriced and the members of staff are ineffective. If management actually cared about the success of the business, it would make robust efforts to change the negative image of the shop. It is not just a case of WHSmith receiving one or two negative comments. It seems to be a consistent thing. Either make an effort to improve matters or shut the thing down and put in another business which actually cares what customers think and which does not have overpriced goods. There are plently of people who are out of work who would love to have a job - hire them instead of the miserable grouches who work there.
Staff members rarely make the effort and when they do, people are just directed to the nearest self-service till. Waste of time and money. Avoid.
*I attended one of the WH Smiths at Waterloo Station today. I do not attend often because of my past experiences. Service was excellent and I was served by a lovely young man with brown hair and a beard and a nice smile. He was really nice and I am now giving this place three stars as opposed to one. *
