Bought a second hand camera described as Excellent condition. Received in good time and communicated well. However, the camera is faulty which is hugely frustrating. Requested a refund and/or replacement. Hopefully this is a one off. Will update review once MPB had opportunity to respond.

I ordered a Nikkor 50mm 1.8D lens for £69 which I am very happy with! It got to me quickly and packaged quite well. The condition of the lens is excellent and the box is also in great condition. It was definitely worth it going for a used lens rather than a new one. Will definitely be buying from MPB again!!!

As easy as they make it sound! I had a barely used z6 plus a couple lenses. Got a quote, courier picked it up when booked, within 2 days of it being picked up they had accepted the condition I though it was in and the money was in my bank. I do wonder if an item was in slightly better condition then I said, but that is on me, cant fault them, will use them again for sure!

After sending off my equipment to sell I requested certain items be returned which was agreed in a written email. However payment was sent to my account and then they stated under company policy as payment had been made under no certain terms could they send the equipment back even after offering the money back. I have now cut all ties with them and requested my account be closed. Please be careful when selling your equipment. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

*Update: well folks you'll never guess what happened? NOTHING! she never got back to me in any way at all. So you can do what I have and judge the company from that. A promise followed up with silence. mike* An Absolute mess. Buying a battery sold as good you'd not expect it to turn up chemically on it's last legs would you. No matter they said and booked a return courier and the dead battery was returned for an exchange. Good news? no. the replacement battery was for a completely different camera. Agreed the name of the battery differed by only one number perhaps I'm being picky. So another day is going to be spent waiting for another courier who'll be with me between the hours of dawn and the end of time to send back a battery I can't use! I am never using these people again. Ebay is cheaper and as it turns out - more dependable. mike

Had an issue and they put it right I sold them my camera which was then damaged in transit (on route to their warehouse). They rejected the camera and returned to me. I reached out and was promised they would put this right and even asked me which address to arrange the collection again. Then nothing happened for a month and now no one is responding to my messages. UPDATE: someone came back to me and apologised profusely and explained the difficulty they had faced in claiming the damage in transit due to lack of evidence that the camera was working prior to shipping. We agreed on a compromise and I'm very happy with the end result and how this was handled. A word of advice to anyone selling equipment.. ALWAYS take and save some photos with the lens/camera before shipping so you have evidence that the kit was working at the time of leaving your care.

I recently had a quote from MPB as I was selling a lens. The quote was £2055 which I thought was reasonable so boxed it up securely and they sent a courier to collect it. A couple of days later I receive and email with an ammended offer of £1600. The reason.... "marks on the front element". However, after a discussion with Kyra at MBP we managed to get to an arrangement where both parties were happy. I can recommend MBP to others as I feel they listen to concerns and work hard to make (and keep) a customer happy. Top marks to Kyra and MBP.

Let me be fair, they offer competitive prices and I appreciate the way the cameras and equipment are graded. But there is real incompetence whenever you have a problem. Not sure if they're short staffed or what but they can be nearly impossible to get a hold of. I was clearly promised a refund of a certain amount for a camera I returned and instead was given a far less and completely illogical amount. I've never felt swindled by them and I'm sure it's a mistake but if they prioritised replying to queries I'd feel a lot more confident in this company. I've waited plenty time for this refund to go through and was counting on it to buy another camera, I've bought another one from MPB because as I said buying from them is a relatively pain free process until something goes wrongm I'm writing this review as it seems to be the best way to get a response from them.

Mpb makes it seem like trading your camera is a quick process. I needed to sell my camera quickly for my own personal reasons. Once you send them your equipment they then tell you it takes 3-4 days for them to inspect the camera. It’s been almost a week since they received my camera and they still haven’t not inspected my camera. The overall customer experience has been really stressful, if you have time to sell your camera. Please consider all options , don’t rush to sell it . Exhaust all your options Edit*** I asked for my camera back , it’s been over a week and I still have not received it . I don’t know how long it takes to return an item ????

I had heard about this company and thought I’d give them a go as a regular buyer of equipment. Pretty disappointing as a faulty lens was sent out, I had to chase for update as I heard nothing back 3 days after the lens was collected. I was told they had it and I would have the replacement in 2 days. Nothing arrived and no updates again so I chased to then find out there was an issue with the courier company and they had not received the correct parcel I’m now out of pocket and without the lens I need for an important job, nobody seems to know anymore as they are investigating and can’t tell me when I will receive a refund! I will stick to my normal supplier from here on. This would have been far less an issue if I wasn’t the one chasing constantly

Sold my 5D MKiii along with other Canon kit back in November. Upon arrival with MBP they advised me that the camera had been damaged in transit and they needed to speak to DHL first. 2 months later after server chasing calls they finally agreed to pay the original quote. Great I thought but there was something missing! One of the items hadn't been priced by them and have been advised that it never arrived with them. What an armature bunch this lot are. Apparently they store everything in a warehouse until the items are paid for by them. I can only assume the item was stolen or misplaced and they don't have the decency to come clean. To sum up on this i'd never buy or sell to MPB again!

Item was delivered, a day after it was meant to be. Item was small and wasn’t in the box. Company now won’t reply to emails and just says there’s cctv packing the item... I don’t know if this is true? Where’s my proof? Company now won’t reply to me. Over £400 I spent and hasn’t been refunded. Will never use again. Complete scam. As a young photographer trying to make a business for myself I am absolutely heartbroken.

They went out of there way to rectify a problem that i only discovered two weeks after perches . communication all the way through was second to nun . Used to be great...now utterly awful! I've used them for years trading large amounts of gear on a monthly basis but over the past year the service has become worse and worse... Getting in touch with them is a nightmare, they don't answer the phone, reply to emails or messages and the manager Nick claims he is unwell every time I try to get a response. More recently they damaged some of my equipment and I still don't have a resolution nearly a month later. I'm currently in the process of taking them to the small claims court! AVOID at all costs!

I deleted my previous review, as since then, MPB have dealt with the issue of the faulty lens very efficiently, in fact, exceeding my expectations. Once I had posted my review relaying my dissatisfaction with their service, I received an email instantly from Andrew Unwin, Head of Operations at MPB, who apologised for the state of the faulty lens I had just purchased and promised to deliver by courier, a replacement one of their highest condition the following day, in time for Christmas, to make up for the inconvenience and my disappointment. This meant a lot to me, as I really want surprise my son tomorrow with his present, something he has been after for a long time. I have to say, I was sceptical as to whether I would really receive it today, being Christmas Eve, but as promised, it arrived at the arranged time, not only that, but with a few little extra goodies for my son. Being a professional photographer myself and having bought a lot of photographic equipment through MPB in the past, I felt I had been let down, but I was mistaken and cannot congratulate them enough for their service and concern in picking-up on my complaint and dealing with this issue so swiftly. Moreover, they will arrange to pick-up the faulty one, once I return from my essential travel. I have no hesitation in highly recommending MPB to those of you who are wondering whether to buy from them or not - they are very good and professional, one of the best in the UK when it comes to their range of products, advice, price, speed and keeping their customers happy.

I was selling camera in the last week. All procedure from getting quote to payments was like about a week (I’m not from UK). Money on my account was 5 mins after I got an email that I should fill my payment details. So I can really highly recommend. Very good contact with customer center. I got a feeling that the bad opinions are from people who tried to sell something and expected higher price. To be honest I was happy with my quote and money that I got. I saved a lot of time instead of putting ads on eBay or similar sites. I’m giving five stars ????✌️

Really disappointed with the customer service I received from MPB over the last couple of days.I have spent a lot of money with them but they obviously do not care about customer loyalty. I bought a excellent condition A7Sii which when arrived had a broken screen. They replaced this with another one which after the first use short circuited 2 of my zeiss lenses breaking the aperture in both, so we sent that one back for a replacement. One of the lenses bought from them was 2 months out of warranty - they can't do anything about that apparently.... then received an email asking for more money as they do not have any stock of the excellent condition camera and that I need to pay a further £300 for a like new one! After asking if they could give me a like new for the price of the excellent condition they said no and I asked for a refund. So Im stuck with 2 broken lenses, no camera. I run a small video production company and like everyone times are hard and im just shocked at how unhelpful they have been through the whole process. Fingers crossed the refund comes in soon... I will not be using them again!

Review Update: Zarina at MPB reached out to me to follow up on what had happened with my most recent order and past ones as well. They have addressed the issue and Im very thankful for their handling of the situation and have placed same order again. Their customer service and response time is some of the best and Im happy they were able to resolve my ordering issue. They really do have a great selection of items and I have yet to have any issues with ones I have gotten from them which is why I was so bummed about what happened this last round. I will continue to order with MPB. Thank you! Original Review: Decent selection of items but their fraud detection is terrible. I have spent a little under $4k with them and each time we have to go thru the rigamarole of verifying my address with my bank card even though its right. This last time they wont release my order since its being flag on their side even though the transaction is pending on my banks. I am tried of this and have canceled this order of $1k of equipment. Until they fix this, I wont be buying from them again.

Bought two Tamron lenses and were delivered super fast, 48 hours from purchase, which I was pleased with. Lenses were listed 'As new', which was correct, except for a small ding on on the telephoto lens around the 55mm mark, which looks like a drop dent. The quality of sharpness is nowhere near as good as my Canon lenses, in fact really unhappy with the pictures on both lens. Now wish I'd bothered to spend more on a Canon lens, knowing the quality would be top notch. In all, false economy. You get what you pay for, so will probably persevere with these and then put it down to a learning curve. Shame, I thought they'd be near as good, but no. Good service though. £240 wasted. Back to the drawing board!

Got warned of several people not to sell/trade in equipment with MPB as they will try and rip you off... which is exactly what happened to me... and 3 of my friends. They basically con you with a fake quote then nit pick in an attempt at daylight robbered. Honestly sell your goods privately or through a reputable camera shop. Even their trust pilot reviews are fishy... take a look for yourself, alot of fake paid for reviews.

Firstly don't bother trying to sell to MPB they will rip you off once they have your stuff. they will claim things are missing or not up to standard. when buying the camera i bought the battery was missing, just avoid and buy elsewhere

Such a great first order! I was a little nervous purchasing a used lens online but the images were great. An account rep reached out to me the morning after the order and double checked that I was happy and asked if I had any questions. I recieved a faulty camera from MPB " sometimes that cant be helped ( I purchase on behalf of camera clubs so we buy alot of cameras) I needed just a replacement so I messaged them and asked for a quick exchange a week later and I had to get PayPal involved this is my reply to them : Thank you for your message you say in your message" I'm very sorry that my colleague was unable to reserve you a replacement in time. I am curious to know exactly how much time would she need to reserve this item, would she reserve this item when I indicated that I would require a replacement for my customer ( that was three days ago ) or would she reserve this Canon 50D when she asked me to choose which one to exchange it with (that was 2 days ago) the answer is neither she was not going to reserve me this item within any time span, and this is the reason why I stated that your returns procedure is Dire and deliberately so your entire ethos is to make sure you don't lose a penny piece within your atrocious returns process " at any cost to your customer your process of patronizing placating messages have profit and not customer service at its core and its this reason why I will complain to your head office and give your company the review it deserves on trustpilot and google

The refurbished camera was well-priced (against competition across the UK), "as new" actually meant absolutely new looking, and the postage and delivery experience was spot on. I'd highly recommend buying or even selling/trading from MPB as sometimes you can pick up lenses for way cheaper than you expect and the selling/part exchanging process is super fast. *Edited to add: MPB have since been really helpful and offered to source the missing cable, and have sent me a lens hood. I've bought (and sold) a lot of kit from MPB and it's always worked well and the service is good - apart from DPD not turning up for collections, but that's DPD. However, I've given 4 stars because I haven't always received the listed accessories. I always buy/sell used kit with the original packaging and accessories, but the last lens I bought had no lens hood, and I have previously spent thousands of pounds on a camera from MPB that had a cable missing. It's frustrating and costs me extra money
