We have been customers of Village Vet for over 14 years! 12 years with my two dogs and most recently 2 years with my cat! Throughout those years my pets have had numerous visits from surgery 4 times for swallowed objects, to broken limbs and the rest of it! I cannot express enough the professional service, level of care and unprecedented attention that Simon and his team have paid both my pets and I! Thank you Simon et al!

I have changed to Medivet. Simon diagnosed my dog wity dry eye and wanted me to buy very expensive medication each month which he said he would need for life. Medivet said not necessary and my dog just needs a few dry eye drops as and when. They were correct as its just a minor problem now and then.

Contributed to the premature and needlessly painful death of my cat in 2017, with an unnecessary and badly administered sedative. Charged a small fortune for the privilege. Won't be using again, obviously. And yes I know that Village vets can't discuss it here and "please email us at blah blah" but I don't want to discuss it.

my Name is Henry Springer. My mum calls me a lot of other names but this is the one that’s not x rated. I have been coming to Winchmore Hill Village Vet almost all of my nine years. I regard it as my duty to visit my friends here as they love me so much. In fact I am having a couple of sleep overs here at the moment because I have eaten something of a very dubious nature. This is when my mummy started calling me by a different name. And that’s the reason I didn’t look up from gobbling up my delicious treasure. My mum says she can trust everyone here and if I have a sleepover, and there have been several, she knows I am not just left alone. There is always a Vet and nurse with me. No matter what time of day or night. Everyone is very kind and I feel obliged to give the occasional high five and smelly kiss. Mum says she wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else and once she drove back from Cornwall very quickly so Uncle Simon could do an emergency operation. And it was his day off too. I especially love the nurses. They take very good care of me when I am ill. And my mum likes to chat to the reception staff who always find an appointment quickly for me. All in all I am going to award as many stars as possible. From the minute I walk through the door with my mum to the time when I leave to go home I know I am going to be loved and looked after. Although I am a celebrity I have noticed that everyone else seems to be treated this way too.

Absolutely appalling. I got charged £300 to put my cat down that I had for 13 years. I was in tears and the Vet bombarded me with needing to do X-rays and draining her lungs, she was struggling breath and the bill had come to £500, I told him to wait as I thought about it. It wasn't about the money, but I kept asking questions, and it turned out the draining of the lungs wouldn't actually solve the issue because it would fill with fluid again. In the end I opted to put her down, he didn't even tell me gently let me know how this would happen, he injected her and she just went in a second, her head flopped to the side and she was gone, I was so upset. I came out crying and the receptionist said thats £300 pounds please, I didn't even get more than a few mins to sit down and gather myself, nor did anyone come and comfort me. I phoned in the next day to speak to the vet who was unavailable and I got no call back. It has been four years since this has happened and I have told so many people about this. I have not forgotten about it and have every intention, now that I have moved back to London, to report this and walk in there myself and speak to them. Please watch our for these money making vets!! I can only hope he is still there so I can have a much needed WORD! Absolutely disgusting.

Tried to charge £650 for a minor stomach flesh wound stitch on my cat that would have taken 2 hours tops I was advised. Was more than happy for us to walk away with staples at £250 which took 10 minutes which was still a joke. The vet seemed more like a sales woman who was clearly on some good commission. Also very unprofessional front desk staff, 2 girls having phone chats about their weekend and one was heard to have swore whilst a child was in the practice.

I have been with village vet for many years I have always had the feeling that all the vets really care about not only our animals but us as owners as well. Even at very sad times.

Even though I've been coming to this vet for a few years I feel that the I get mixed level of customer service and it has not always great. I recently came to the vet as my cat was in a lot of distress only to be told they can't take him as they were closing for the dat and there was no veterinary doctors on site to monitor him overnight so they suggested their West Hampstead branch only to be told they will charge a hefty fee upfront  even though I'm insured. The only other resolve they had was the RSPCA which when i checked was closed and another one which was too far to get to. I am aware that veterinary fees aren't cheap but they really made me feel that those were my only options and seem nonchalant and I had no choice but to pay an extortionate fee to get my pet looked at. I managed to find another vet who were happy to take him in and not charge a stupid price. My advice to anyone reading this shop around 1st because going to this vet.

Worst service ever! Beware, my dog has died over 2 months ago at this vets after spending 3 hours there and this village vets branch has started a rumour that my dog has died in the back of a van of a dog walking company I don't even use, to not take responsibility for their actions. They showed no remorse or compassion, they have the worst customer care I have seen with no respect to confidentiality and to start lying about what really happened was the last straw for me. Don't use this branch if you care about your pets they are more interested in the money than the care of your animals.

I have been going to Village Vet Winchmore Hill for 15 years. I keep guinea pigs, who are "exotic" in veterinary terms, and my guinea pigs receive excellent care from Simon and his team. Their expertise is second to none; I have had guinea pigs needing surgery for removal of bladder stones, ovario-hysterectomy, dental treatment (an important but not an easy task), removal of cysts and lipomas as well as treatment for urinary tract infections, respiratory infections and eye problems. As my guinea pigs are all rescues, their health has not always been good when they come to me; I know that they receive top quality treatment here. One guinea pig came to me paralysed as he was suffering from scurvy; with the help of Village Vet he was nursed back to full health and mobility and lived to good age. When I have telephoned to bring a pet in as an emergency, there is a veterinary nurse waiting at the door to take my guinea pig straight through for triage and treatment, and someone one reception with a hot drink and words of support for me. The practice has high-definition ultrasound, modern X-ray equipment and an on-site laboratory. The staff keep themselves up-to-date with continuing professional development. The entire team - reception staff, veterinary nurses and veterinary surgeons care for people and their pets. Village Vet Winchmore Hill is absolutely brilliant - kind, caring, compassionate, skilled and knowledgeable.

The care which my dog, Ollie, has received from Village Vets Winchmore Hill has been so outstanding; I often joke that he receives better medical care than me! It is obvious that everyone at Village Vets Winchmore Hill - from the vets, to the nurses, to the receptionists - are passionate about their jobs and truly care for animals. All of the team members we have interacted with were highly empathetic towards my dog (and myself!), as well as pragmatic in terms of medical treatments which followed. Ollie isn't the easiest patient, but no one at Village Vets has ever become frustrated or impatient with us. Vets such as Drs Jonathan Rubin, Simon Hayes, and Helen Johnston understand that my dog isn't just a pet - he's part of my family. It is very reassuring to know that I can trust them to do what is best for my dog. I must also mention nurse Clare Belcher, who gave us excellent advice and guidance throughout the practices complimentary puppy parties. Receptionist, Demi Coulson, is always so friendly and helpful and is a real asset to the surgery, as she's always able to answer questions that I have when calling to make appointments.

I have taken both my dog and cat to this vet for years and they are a very caring practice. I find all the staff to be very professional. Unusually for a receptionist as they do not usually have to take exams etc like nurses Demi was very knowledgeable on what to do in the case of the emergency when my cat ingested lily pollen. She calmly instructed me on how important it was that Harry was immediately brought in for treatment with no time wasted. I did not realise how serious the situation was and her sound knowledge and advice along with the expert care of the vets and nurses means our darling cat was treated and is ok. I hope she is recognised as the asset she is. I give the practice full marks for patient care. Fee wise they are not the cheapest but I feel the vets especially Simon Hayes genuinely love animals and it is not just a money making business but somewhere where your animal can expect the best treatment and most appropriate treatment. Thanks Village Vet
