This was my first visit and I was a bit anxious about leaving my dog with someone strange Dr Helen Johnston was wonderful as she made me feel at ease and also updated me before carrying on any further.. My Dog Kano seemed happy to go with her unlike other people she has a warming spirit and I will definitely recommend this vet and Dr Johnston to all my friends with pets. I am booked in for two weeks time and I am looking forward to it I would also like to mention the receptionists as they also very friendly and warming.

I would definitely recommend this vet clinic to everyone. I am very thankful to them to help my cat. I couldn't find any vet clinic which is working till late when I had an emergency with my cat. They help her in the same evening and my cat is feeling very well now. Thanks, guys.

Awful service. They only care for your pet until they receive payment. They operate like a shop rather than a caring animal clinic. Have been calling them everyday for a week for my dogs heart medicine prescription and have been ignored. After they received £650 payment for the heart scan they have only shown negligence. Maybe good for routine check up and vaccinations, I would not Trust them for anything more. Do not risk your pets health.

Having been a client of Village Vet Winchmore Hill for six years, they are by far the best veterinary practice I have been to over the years. Always ready to listen to concerns and excellent care and attention for my cats. Really above and beyond care at all stages of a visit, reception, vets, nurses and aftercare - thank you! A special mention to Helen for being such a super vet!

I had an issue as I was new to the area and how things worked around the town, but the head vet really made me feel welcome and ensured I was ok and looked after. It’s clear that village vet not only cares about the well being of our animal friends but their owners too. So thank you for being great!

Took my Minilops to the vets after being turned away from many others only to have the most wonderful and helpful experience. Adrian the vet thoroughly checked them over and gave a detailed report as to what may be the problem as well as offering the best possible options with good advice in tow. Brilliant experience and will be checking in again! Keep up the good work , Erhan

I don't even know where to start with these people... Please don't take your pets to them, all they care about is money and not the pets... I took my 3 kittens for vaccine, I was not explained what exactly the vaccine includes or what I could expect after that and how to deal with it all I was told was that "they may be a bit more sleepy and tired after it, and possibly show some mild flue like symptoms on the day" What actually happened is that 4 days after vaccine I got home after work at around 5.30pm and I found one of my kittens in agony, not eating just crying, infection on the eye, no will to stand up, she had peed herself as she was unable to stand up and pee properly, she was covered with litter and had high temperature. I called Village vet and explained to them the symptoms, at the time I thought she had an accident and broke her leg simply because I was not told to expect any of that after the vaccine. VV didn't want to see us, they didn't even agree for us to sit outside the practice until 8pm so that they can see her quickly between other pets at least to see if there is anything broken. They just said they can't see her because they are fully booked. They offered me to send a video so they can determine that way if anything broken, so apparently they had time to see the video but not the kitten... After long conversations with 6 practices I called them back and told them I was on the way to them and I will wait outside, of course it wasn't before I asked for complaints procedure that they agreed to see us. When we went there they discovered she had "extremely rare side effect" which was like inflammation of the leg, they gave her anti-inflammatory, antibiotics and eyedrops. We were charged exorbitant amount for that appointment... Same "rare side effect" happened to my other kitten on the next day... After I sent my official complaint to raise concern about the poor information provided prior to obtaining consent for vaccine as we were not given the right to make an informed consent, also about the poor services including their total careless and unwillingness to see my kitten after they new how serious her condition was and they must of known that the reason is the vaccine (as I had no way to know at that time), their ridiculous charges which included "extra fee Sunday app" even though my app was on Tuesday and their rude receptionists the manager didn't even bother addressing or replying to my email..... After 4 weeks I am still waiting.... For 2 days I had to literally hold my kitten upright to be able to eat, drink water or use the litter box, I had to dig holed for her and then cover her urine and poop after her as she was in so much pain that she couldn't use her front legs for anything... We also received a recall reminder about my cat (the mother of the kitten) to say she is due a vaccine on 21/01 and that text was sent on 10th of April, when my husband called to ask when exactly is she due and why didn't they tell us when we were there about 4 times last month - they said she needs to be booked by Friday.... I called them and told them that after everything they put us through we are not taking her there and to ask for her records, and they confirmed they will send it within a couple of hours by email... That was on Tuesday and I still haven't received those records... Worst ever service and careless staff and management.... I would so much recommend you not to ever go there!!!

We've been coming here for 2 years and we've always been happy with the treatment for our cat. All the staff are friendly, you can easily get appointments when you need them and your not in the waiting area for long which is less stress for pets. Treatment prices are very reasonable, I've paid quite a bit more at other vets in the past. And most importantly the staff really do care about the welfare of animals here and I have complete trust in them.

I took a cat that I thought he is stray to this clinic for medical treatment, they accommodated me without an appointment when I explained to them I can’t make an appointment as I need to trap the cat and bring him straight over . All staff are very friendly I would like to thank specially Francessca she has been amazing . I keep calling asking how David ,the cat, is doing . Francessca has always been so helpful and reassuring. A big thank you to all the staff at Village vet they are doing an amazing job. Lots of love and thank you specially to Francessca ☺️☺️

Helen has seen my cat throughout her entire life and I couldn’t ask for a better vet. She is so kind, patience and understanding yet able to talk to you about difficult decisions and topics with clarity and empathy. And her knowledge is second to none, and I completely trust her judgment and treatment plans. She is always willing to help by talking in the phones, explaining why she has decided on certain treatment plans. My cat has been seen for a range of different problems and each time Helen is so meticulous in her exam of my cat. Barbara has also seen my cat for an eye problem and she went above and beyond to ensure both my cat had the best care and I was kept inform throughout each stage. I feel so lucky to know my cat has top quality care.

Re: the recent appointment with my much loved doggie. Briefly I would advise all pet carers not to be cajoled/bullied into making an immediate decision. I refused to do so with a particular vet she then preceded to try all sorts scaremongering. I am pleased to say my girlie was fine a week later. Follow your instincts

I would highly NOT recommend this vet practice to anyone!!! I have been taking my cat to this vet for over 6 years and even though their fees are higher than most other vets, I was happy to pay as I was generally happy with the service of the vets and receptionists and nurses. But this year, especially since the pandemic, this practice has gone down hill big time! Firstly, the receptionists are unprofessional and rude and do not know how to speak to customers on the phone and are incompetent. I know this pandemic has been really stressful but it has been stressful on everyone and all businesses but this practice needs to assess the running of the practice, their strategies and policies. My 8 year old cat was diagnosed with diabetes, which was very stressful for me. I was advised to see vet Adrian because apparently he specialises in diabetic cats. When it came to actually starting his diabetic treatments, the receptionist booked me in incorrectly. I obviously did what I was told and turned up on time for what I thought was my appointment. Adrian took me in and was really annoyed at me and said I hadn't booked a diabetic treatment but a regular appointment. I informed him I specifically booked in for the diabetic treatment as I told the receptionist on the phone and he then asked me the name of the receptionist. Like I took her name down! He then said he was extremely busy that day but would still treat him. Later on in the day, I was called by Adrian to say that my cat had urinated in his box and the nurse tried to bath him and my cat was VICIOUS and untreatable! Who on earth would attempt to bathe a diabetic cat who was extremely stressed with high glucose levels. Obviously my cat was left in his box I took him in for ages because they were busy. He urinated especially because he was so stressed out and then they tried to bathe him which stressed him out more and he became aggressive maybe. I was told to come and collect him at 7.50pm and I was told firmly not to be late due to covid they need to run on time but I waited for 40 minutes before i was seen and could take my cat and when i was called in by Adrian, he constantly told me that he had had a really busy day, and that he didn't even have any lunch because he was so busy, he kept showing me his day list on his computer screen and telling me how he was double and triple booked. This is completely unprofessional! It's not like he is working for free, I paid almost £700 for that day for basically nothing! I am a medical health professional who has been working for the NHS for over 15 years, and I have missed many a lunch break and worked late but have never spoken to a patient like that, I have never told a patient I didn't have any lunch because of them! I was then told several times how Vicious my cat is and Adrian actually said in these words ' unless your cat changes his behaviour, he is not treatable, we won't treat him' What did he expect me to do?? Take my cat home and have a firm and stren word???? Within 3 days after this I noticed my cat wasn't looking like himself and I felt his ears were hot and it seemed like he had a fever, within a week, he was really unwell, I registered him with a different vet and took him. He was really poorly. The new vet said said he had a serious infection. When I explained what had happened last week, they said he most likely caught an infection at village vet, especially if left in his own urine for hours. He had to be give intravenous antibiotics and fluids and had to be left in out of hour emergency hospital overnight and another week of antibiotics and painkillers. They actually called me to say he is so poorly that they may need to put him down. Thankfully he had the strength to fight it and is ok no thanks to village vet. I will never take him to village vet again.

I've been taking my dog to village vet in winchmore hill since he was a puppy and cannot recommend this practice highly enough. From the reception staff to the nurses and through to the vets themselves, the care, love and attention they pay to each and every animal is mind-blowing. I cannot imagine going anywhere else and wouldn't recommend anywhere else. If you love your pet as much as I'm sure you do, you always want the best for them, and it doesn't come any better than village vet winchmore hill.

5 STARS!!! Took my terrified chihuahua here today and the vet I saw (Alison) was so amazing and put my dog right at ease and was very informative about what was going on and I felt like she truly cared, unlike previous vets I have been to. The place was easy to get to and the practice and staff were so friendly and welcoming. I would 100% recommend and I will now be coming here when my dog needs medical attention. Thank you so much - very impressed!!

Consistently thorough and extremely knowledgeable vets. Barbara is brilliant and nothing is too much trouble and is always happy to answer any questions. The practice are really good with flexible appointments and on the day appointments for emergencies are never too much trouble. Not the cheapest but you pay for what you get. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

A truly wonderful place. Simon has cared for Juno through her chemotherapy treatment as she were his own. Always positive, he has helped us stay calm during times when it was touch and go. Juno continues to progress and is doing as well as she can be. I can't praise all the staff highly enough for their kindness and professionalism. Many thanks indeed.

My cat has a regular at the WINCHMORE HILL branch for the last 10 years. He had been biting on air on one side in real discomfort for over a week. So I made an appointment to take him to Village vet - £54 and they said there was nothing wrong with him. This was over 2 weeks ago. Today I took him to another vet and they diagnosed him with GINGIVITIS! I am very annoyed that this has been missed.

One star for an absolute ''rip off''. They have charged me for dog's ear drops 3 times more than it costs to buy online. It would be understandable to charge a bit more but not three times the price. Be aware, do not buy anything from them, check the price online and ask for prescription.

Very helpful people. I would always recommend them but the downside is. They are very very expensive and even if you have insurance your still need to pay the money and then try claim back so you would need to have the money first, if you haven't then your stuffed because you ain't getting seen.

Want to say a huge thank you to this amazing vet. Polite friendly receptionists. Was seen by a vet who I believe was called Nathan, he couldn’t have been any better. He explained everything and gave us realistic options. Unfortunately, we came to the decision of putting our cat to sleep but I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive, understanding and genuine vet. Big thank you from us.

Absolutely fantastic practice. Today I said goodbye to my beloved fur baby after 16 years. Barbara, Lucy, Louise and Tom were fantastic, absolutely professional, compassionate and kind as I sobbed myself silly. Praise especially to Barbara for trying everything possible and for being clear and concise, allowing me time to grieve for my cat and for showing my baby love and affection in his final moments. I can't recommend them enough.
