There is a worker at this store who is extremely rude called Eden. I was having a lovely chat with a POLITE member of staff who was trying to do a design for me on behalf of my mother, I overheard how she was speaking to the staff in the background. It was truly off putting and I did want to put in a formal complaint but couldn’t find an email address and I refuse to call and have to be spoken to like that myself! I chose not to go ahead with my order and have since gone somewhere else.

Brilliant little DIY store, has all the essential materials needed for repair projects, painting and decorating materials and sundries. We got plaster, sand and cement along with the necessary tools. Highly recommended

This B&Q is on two levels. It has two entrances and a car park at the back of the upper floor. It is good if you are looking for paint and anything related to it. On the other sections there are always missing items. That is a bit annoying. Especially when you check on the website and it says they are meant to have it in stock. Anyhow, overall good. ????

It's a B&Q. Does DIY stuff, no great surprises. Staff are helpful and pleasant. Prices are good.

It's ok. Has everything a B&Q usually stocks. No way of getting a trolley from up or down stairs to the opposite floor, which is weird. There's a nicer paint/DIY tools place just up the road.

I found this particular shop racist. The tills were being served by two large black women and as soon as they saw me the racism came out, that's how they made me feel. If you white don't shop tbere

My visit was only meant to be a short one but I stayed a little longer to see what was on offer and the new products available, especially, the spring flowers. Oh and the music was the icing on the cake.

Had loads of bayonet light fittings but no screw type despite selling the bulbs. Then no compression fit elbows for the plastic plumbing pipe they sold. Went to Scrowgers on Norwood High Street and got all I needed.

Medium size store with carpark access at the rear of the store. Probably ok for people living near by. Lots of products from the website are not on the shelves. Customer service wasn't able to help.

This was my fourth visit, therefore I am reviewing B@Q from experience, and shall be totally open and honest. Never before have I seen so many staff on duty at the same time, doing nothing nor wanting to. Ask a question, and you are met with boredom and disinterest, if you are lucky enough to 'catch' a member of staff in the first place, as they seem to evaporate the moment they ''clock you looking helpless!!!". This branch is large and airy, although if you need certain stock only found on the 1st floor, there is no access other than via two flights of stairs. (Not a disabled friendly store). To be fair, and in explanation of my many visits, for a DIY enthusiast like me, it's "a God's send", considering most of our 'local hardware shops have closed down. So all in all, make sure you give yourself plenty of time in order to 'do your own searching' - in all probability you'll find most of what you need!!

This store has gone from being my go-to, to a last ditch option. The format of this store is annoyingly small, so the chances are that if you go in with a list of things you need, you will not come out with half of it. Added to this, I've never had anyone ask me if I needed help and when you try to seek it out there is literally nobody available on the shop floor. The staff you do see clearly don't want to be there. I've gone in before and been ignored while the whole staff were having a meeting. If there ever was a place that needed a complete management overhaul, this is it. Avoid at all costs.

Worst branch i ever been into, i went inside and try find a wallpaper steamer ask the ladies from the bottom level she moved 5 m toward me telling me to check aisle 6, i went there 2 times was no wallpaper steamers, i went and told them that there its no wallpaper steamers and to check in the back if there is any, so i waited about 25 min with no answer when i asked again the lady was pretending that she didn't even spoke to me.... Pathetic!!!!

I visited the store earlier this week to purchase some decorating materials. Had everything I needed, so thought I'd be in and out very quickly and without any problems. Unfortunately however I am disabled, having suffered a brain injury some years ago. As a result of brain damage, I find it hard to retain numbers and accordingly my banks and credit card companies issue me with a Chip and Signature cards. Such cards are common amongst those with brain injuries and sometimes as people get older and struggle with memory problems they also request Chip and Signature as an alternative to Chip and PIN. The cards are considered a reasonable adaptation under the Equalities Act. Retailers are exposed to no greater liability when accepting them than they are when processing a Chip and PIN card. They must simply correctly follow the prompts that appear on their payment terminal. Retailers have now had almost 10 years to get it right. Refusal to accept them is a breach of the Equalities Act, and a criminal offense .... .... you've probably guessed where this is going ... My card was refused by the cashier, who upon my request called a manager. The manager came, refused my card, and when I pointed out it was unlawful under the Equalities Act to refuse to accept Chip and Signature cards, I was informed that it was her right to refuse to serve me. When Chip and PIN was introduced this happened frequently. There was so much publicity about no longer accepting signatures, that those of us who were the (legal) exception got overlooked, but a decade on, really this is unacceptable. B&Q has had 10 years to understand the law and train its staff appropriately. I could understand it more if this was a corner shop, but it was a superstore, part of a huge chain. If it was just the young girl on the till who had a training issue, I would be more understanding, but how long does it take, and how much training do you need to become a store manager at B&Q? I was left feeling embarrassed and awkward as a queue of people stood waiting at the only open check out I was blocking by being 'less able'. Do I feel like a valued customer? Quite the opposite. I feel angry and mistreated. I called B&Q's customer service and spoke to a member of staff who did seem genuinely concerned and uncomfortable about the way I had been treated, but her assurance that the area manager would be in contact that day proved to be hollow. I'm sure its a great shop if you're not disabled, if you are, don't expect to be treated well. **** BY WAY OF AN UPDATE FIVE AND A HALF WEEKS, AND FOUR REMINDER PHONE CALLS LATER, STILL AWAITING SOMEONE FROM B&Q TO CONTACT ME - NOT A DICKY BIRD FROM THEM **** HAVE NEEDED DIY STUFF A COUPLE OF TIMES SINCE BUT HAVE AVOIDED GOING BACK INTO THE SHOP UNTIL THEY SORT THIS OUT TO AVOID MYSELF FURTHER EMBARRASSMENT. AS THE WEEKS OF BEING IGNORED PASS, MY OPINION OF THIS COMPANY GOES DOWN THE TOILET - A TOILET I WOULD NOW NEVER EVEN CONSIDER BUYING FROM THEM. **** TO FURTHER UPDATE, NOW THREE MONTHS AFTER THE INITIAL COMPLAINT, AND SIX PHONE CALLS TO CUSTOMER SERVICES LATER, STILL NO WORD, NO EXPLANATION, AND NO APOLOGY

Staff just so rude. They're not wearing masks. Yet they ask customers to. Rude. Time to up your game B&Q. A lot of shops are going under. Up your game or die out like the rest of them. Trust me, online, is easy.

My experience was rather distressing and I felt threatened and uneased because of my ethnicity ,they chose not to help me with the customer service as that is their Job. I would like to give zero stars but it wouldn't allow me to post. The manager and the workers at the desk today 21/01/2021 just after 1pm was not helpful. Previous week I came in to order a few boxes of tiles so that I can continue working and they helped but this week I asked the customer service workers and the manager if they can help me buy more tiles as I need to get back to work to finish she (the manager) told, me why can't I go and do click and collect even though I asked her because I needed help stating that I don't know how. I am not computer literate. also I am a regular customer visiting West Norwood store for over 10 YEARS.
