On Wednesday I was being helped by a beautiful young black lady I didn’t quite catch her name , very smiley and attentive individual , she had ginger hair and was in a blue knitted dress. When my husband I first walked in she greeted us and informed us that if we needed any help we should let her know . After a while she realised we couldn’t find what we was looking for and she asked politely if she could be of any assistance, as I was speaking to her about what exactly my partner and I was looking for her manager (I’m assuming that’s who she was ) rudely interrupted cutting me off mid sentence and Cutting off the young lady abruptly making it seem as though she wasn’t already doing a good job like then young lady didn’t know want she was doing. I tried to tell the manager that she wasn’t getting the memo and to which she ignored and she just kept showing us jackets and talking about jackets my husband and I had told the the young lady already that it was not what we were looking for. This woman kept going and going and going which seriously annoyed me as the lady that was already helping us stood there quietly honestly looking embarrassed. My husband and I were extremely annoyed and decided to just leave as I was leaving I told the young lady that she was doing a good job before she was interrupted and I made sure I said that the manager had just lost them a sale loud enough for her to hear. The manager was very rude and arrogant and I honestly feel sorry for that poor girl that was working with her. Senior members of staff should never feel like it’s okay to undermine sales assistance in front of customers, it looks bad.

There were 4 people working in this store, no other customers were in the store at the time. Not one person who worked at GANT spoke to me at any point, not even to ask me if I needed help with anything! Not one person even acknowledged that I was in the store for the entire time I was there! Very poor customer service.

Very good shop. I have made two recent visits to Gant. The staff - Sofina, Andrea, Janina - are all very helpful and customer focused. Clothes and shoes are high quality.
