Centre Point Food Store Korean Cafe

KOREAN TRADITIONS Today, 17th April 2021, post lockdown, I ventured to Central London for the purpose of picking up a couple of seaweed bags! Frustratingly, many shops do not take cash and I don't get paid until the end of the month... Fortunately, I discovered Centre Point Food Store! Yay ????! It's a wonderful Korean and Japanese food store with some amazing foods! Sadly, I can't eat much of it as I'm Wholefood Plant-Based. Anyway, I picked up a couple of medium sized bags of seaweed. I've been wanting to make a salad based on seaweed for nearly a week, and my local supermarkets have stopped stocking dried seaweed. THE OWNERS The Owners were very welcoming and friendly. I mainly spoke with a mature male, who had done army duty in South Korea. We struck up a conversation and he showed Me to bow correctly! Great! I thanked Him in Korean, which He and His female assistant appreciated very much. It was a wonderful exchange! IN-STORE The store is a little on the small side, which gives it a warm feeling in terms of a friendly atmosphere. I can't say I felt cramped... It was easy to find what I was looking for! LOCATION Centre Point Food Store is in a good location, which makes it so easy to find. It's also quite easy to get to from most parts of London. I've come from a relatively far North London location and it was certainly worth the travel. It's always good to stretch the legs! VERDICT I'll be certainly making repeated visits! I might even learn more Korean and traditions! Oh! I was given some very good advice too! I'll be sure to take heed! SCORE 10 / 10

A hidden gem for all your foody needs. Always come here for kimchi. Super friendly staff too!

Wonderful Korean supermarket!!????????Went here to get ingredients to make ram-don. I really love the variety of the food here:) The Korean gentleman was super nice to us! He loves happy-ending movies and has a very bright character. He made my day very happy. Highly recommended!

Good place to pick up some inventory for the Korean pantry. You can find key ingredients and makgeolli. Also staff is quick to aid in assistance too.

If you like your Korean foods then you can usually do well to stop here and pick up a few tasty items. These can be anything from the already prepared dishes in takeaway pots in the fridge or the ingredients to make your favourite noodles and dumpling soups and stews or kimchi and rice dishes. Best of all if you don't want to wait until you get home you can always visit the restaurant in the basement at the back of the store. There are meat and Vegetarian options all nice and spicy. I shouldn't advertise this too much because they can be very popular with both the lunch time and evening crowd. Highly recommended alternative to your usual West End Chinese meal if not as sophisticated.

Staff lady spoke to us in korean (???) lower area opens after 12am only. I like how they had BTS posters up, quite small shop but has basics.

beef soup was nothing like what I had at whole bunch other Korean restaurants, and it's pricey considering what's inside the soup

I sometimes buy Kimchi here. It is good quality. There is a resturant down stairs. I bought a take away my favorite dish is chap chae. It is nice.

Most cheap price SOJU & MAGGEALY

You can find the most of Korean products. However, it is possible to eat in the basement. They cook nice korean food. Tastier than other places around.

분식집이예요. 짜장면은 우동면같아서 별로였고 탕수육과 제육은 맛있었어요, 위치가 73 New Oxford St, Bloomsbury 한국식품점 지하로 바꼈어요

전화 걸면 계속 원하는 대답 안 해주시고 그냥 끊으시더니 몇번 더 걸어도 받지도 않으시네요 평소에 갔을 땐 굉장히 친절하시던데 당황스럽네요
