Tiny portions and poor quality.
This was a regular chips, they were exceptionally dry and tasted like they'd been held in the chip warmer all day. Definitely not going back.

STOP RE-HEATING EASY TO COOK FOOD!
Went in today at 1.45pm. Not busy in there just one customer ahead.
Ordered large chips and two sausages.
I asked if the chips were hot as taken straight out and the only lady working there today said yes they are! I wanted to be sure as it costs over £7 something for this very cheap dish which I was shocked about.
Reassured by the lady that they were hot I thought ok give them a try!
Warm almost cold all of it. I work along the road in George street so didn't have long time before consuming.
Very disappointed ???? will not be going there anymore and spreading the word AMOUNST George street FREINDS and offices!

UPDATE: We have had a reply from Just Eat who have said that Bankers provided their own driver and so will not issue a refund. When we spoke to bankers this is not what we were told so someone is being untruthful. We have however had a cash refund from Bankers when we went in to see them so this is my reason of increase the review from 1 star to 3. Sadly we won't be ordering again after this experience.
ORIGINAL POST: Ordered via Just eat, showing delivered and sadly it's not. Contacted both Bankers and Just eat. No refund, no new delivery and told by both to connect the other. Told by Bankers staff next time not to use Just Eat as its a bad service! If you know its bad why would you offer it as a service?

Bankers please stop dishing up reheated food.all I got was cod sausage and large chips and all of it was reheated .if you got reheated food would you go back .bankers if you don't listen too the customers and this his not a one off if you read the reviews on you Web site .

For 20 years i've been telling the world that bankers is the best chippy in England. Today i discover that they no longer offer pies, the chips come in a little bucket like an overpriced gastro pub and my food was served on a chopping board! Time to find a new best chippy as this place has lost it's magic.

Jesus... Always missing items.. Every order atelast an hour over for delivery. Tried to call them to sort orders 3 times.. each time had the phone hung up on me or ringing for over 10 minutes. Theyre express because they miss out most things..

This is a very good and popular fish and chip shop, which always appears to be popular with deliveroo customers
The fish has been cooked fresh for each order I have ever made
The chips are cooked continuously and like most fish and chip shops can be really fresh, or sometimes taste like they have been cooked a bit later

Gluten free fish and chips (Monday and Tuesday only)!! Lots of care was taken in making sure everything is separated so there is no contamination. I ordered a medium haddock which was so much food but really really good! Service was outstanding! Thank you!

Good value and clean takeaway with a small seated area inside if you want to dine in. Bankers are one of the best fish and chips in Brighton and also their Hove express branch is good. If ordering to dine in check out their loyalty scheme which is good.

Well worth a visit for the old English favorite.have visited Bankers Express many times in the past and before they took over the previous business and tonite was even better service than the last time with good table service,the meal was piping hot,the chips crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside with generous sized portions and the fish that we had skinned was perfect and chunky with a perfect thickness batter,not a cheap meal now a days but good all round quality and service so worth it , as said we dined in but expect the same quality with a take away.

I always loved to get fish and chips at bankers. Pricier than most fish and chip shop but always a treat whenever I buy from here. The last time I went, the person at the counter made a comment about my boyfriend saying that he looked like Kanye West. They looked nor dress nothing alike and the only thing they share is the colour of their skin. Through uncomfortable glances between us and attempts to convince her otherwise, she kept pushing this on him and made him feel really uncomfortable. We ate the meal there and as we were walking out, she mentioned it again. I don't think it was a malicious comment but her ignorance left a bad taste on out evening.

Used Bankers once a month for the last 3 months usually very good but tonight don't know what went wrong, usual order of 2 medium haddock 1 large chips one regular chips 2 battered sausages 2 gherkin and onion rings.
First the sausage were not battered, secondly 2 regular chips, thirdly haddock had had the life cooked out of it (stringy and chewy) fourth had to throw the gherkins away as they were so soft you could put your finger through them and last but not least the onion rings were obviously the cheap frozen coated type.
In fairness the last three times I have been there it was quite good I just don't know what happened today.
Maybe don't go in there around 17.00 cause for nearly £25.00 it was very poor, gave it 2 stars because the staff were polite as usual( can't fry but they were polite and it was clean)

Lovely old style fish & chips, you don't yet yesterdays paper for wrapping, when you'd go to a chippy you'd know who runs it,the place was closed for a while I walked in on day with my son,the guy remembered me,nice place clean & you can eat in,pensioners get a concession,not fast food rubbish good food.

Really sad to say but we have been eating at this Church Road Hove branch for over 4 years and it's normally very very good! This evening at 5.30pm we went for our normal fish & chips and it was terrible! All over cooked dry and tasteless. There seemed to be new staff which are clearly not trained properly. Not sure if we will ever be back! Such ashame.
