Historical guitar shop housing mostly second hand and vintage gear. Great assortment of electric and acoustic guitars, curiosities and effects units. A must see.

Its the history of Tin Pan alley backed up by the best of the best guitar shop staff. Its a piece of British musical history and a great shopping venue.

Real nice selection of stringed stuff spread over three floors and a real vintage feel. Plenty for fighters and letters, acoustic, electric and electro acoustic, standard sixers, twelve strings, basses and banjos, not to mention the super cool novelty stuff that you gotta check out yourself! It’s a haven for people who want to look at guitars, and it’s situated right at the end of guitar street... there’s a bunch of guitar shops down here, this is basically the crown jewel of the guitar street guitar shops...

If you can manage the rickety stairs down to the guitar ???? workshop below Craig does an excellent job on your guitar. I took my Faith Blue Moon in for a work over and restring and it was returned the next day as promised in beautiful condition and looking/sounding like new

Was thoroughly taken care of by Craig down in the workshop. My guitar went in all sad and busted; within 24 hours the main man had given her new life - resplendent, resonant & reborn! cheers boss

Like stepping back in time to the 60's. If you want classic Fender or Gibson guitars, and can afford 5 figure sums, this is the place!

Friendly and helpful staff. Got a replacement acoustic guitar from here. They have quite a versatile range at all price points for a relatively small place. Really impressive. Would come again!

They gave amazing recommendations and you could tell that everyone was doing it out of passion. Definitely recommend this place especially if you are looking to improve your guitar gear or if you want expert opinions on what type you should buy.

Went in for an entry level guitar.. But dealing with people who don’t care about what they do is not enjoyable.. Try any of the other stores

I went into the store to purchase a £18,000 Guitar as a special present for my partner. What I got was the most intense experience of disrespect towards me (the only conclusion I can deduce is maybe he did not like the colour of my skin as he made it very clear that he had no intention of serving me). When I asked about the guitar which I wanted to purchase, the person at the counter looked at me with utter disgust, he then completely ignored me, proceeded to take his mobile phone out and started scrolling randomly up the screen. Thinking that he had somehow not heard me I politely repeated the question again, to which he did not look up from his telephone screen, but instead grunted the words, "yeah". Before leaving the store he identified himself as 'Tommy'. Like others have said, the service is awful. Smug, rude staff who aren't interested in creating any kind of shopping experience and seem to have an air of superiority about them; especially when you dare ask a question. Go to any of the other spots on Denmark st. if you actually want to enjoy buying your gear. In addition... One of the worst customer services!!! Staff Attitude problem. And... the customer service is really bad. I recommend the others stores in the same street Probably a good shop but guy behind the counter ruined it by deciding to be derogatory and very rude. Much nicer and friendly shops on Denmark street so such a shame. I will take my business elsewhere thanks.

Great selection of acoustic guitars (their electric guitars shop is a few doors down Denmark Street) and super helpful and knowledgeable staff. Plus you get 3 years free servicing on any guitar you buy from them. Top notch!

Sometimes I go in here and bust out a mean ass guitar solo. Pure lethal. People dance. It's better than lifting heavy weights down the gym. Once some dude told me I was badass and called me Dragon Force. I blushed and told him not to be a fool. He didn't mind. He just told me my solo rocked. I was so proud.

It has a big selection and it includes some oddities like the batman shaped guitar. There is a guitar Luthier in the basement which is effectively a different business. I think it's name is Duden guitars. Very good and and knowledgeable

If you are in to guitars and enjoy being around guitars this is a good shop to go to. I remember Denmark Street in it's heyday and just before my time guitarists like Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton could be seen down there guitar shopping. It is good to see that the "High Street" has not completely had it's own way yet? and shops like Hanks still exist. The vibes are great and long live Denmark Street.

Phoned them to ask about a couple of telecasters on their website. They didnt have them in the shop despite it clearly saying they were in stock. Two weeks later I phoned again asking about the same guitars which were still on their website. Again a different staff member couldn't find them. One month later, and the guitars are still on their website which says they're in stock. They are either very dishonest by keeping guitars they don't have on their website to make it look good. Or they are a bunch of idiots. Terrible customer service.

A huge array of guitars, amplifiers and other guitar accessories. It is a huge shop - much bigger than it looks. They also offer guitar repairs (this is on the the bottom floor/basement).

The location is legendary and the building has fantastic character, stuff everywhere you look. The staff didn't pounce on me as soon as I went through the door, I was welcomed and left to look around. After some browsing and a good chat about ‘guitar gear’ I left with a beautiful Yairi classical at a great price. I would not hesitate to recommend the place.

Hanks inflate their prices and mislead their customers into believing they're getting a deal, where in reality they end up paying more. In my case, the guitar that was sold to me turned out to cost £50 less on the brand's official website. You're better off buying online and/or from one of the other (more honest) stores on Denmark st.

About 5 years ago, I had such a nice experience with hank's staff that I bought a guitar from them without trying any other shops and their after sale service was excellent. That was 5 years ago. Today I went in and all staff were watching YouTube. I wandered around a bit on my own and eventually someone came to ask if I needed help. I told him my spec, he said he'd find what matched it, then went off somewhere and didn't come back. passed him on my way out and all he said was goodbye. fine, went for a new guitar somewhere else
