I have had great service in tool repairs, tool retail, and in the welding / tank filling department.
Everyone I have encountered is helpful, the wait times are pretty good, and they are competitive with other retailers.
Not sure why I wouldn't go back. Even if they don't have what I need, they always point me in the right direction.

Service was lacking. I was looking for a new cordless drill. There were no salespeople in the power tool section. I spent over 20 minutes walking around before i could find someone. There were staff walking around stocking shelves but none asked if I needed help. Good selection of brand name tools. Long wait times to checkout during 3 day sales. They really need to fix their receipt system.
2nd Bad Experience 04/2020
Placed an online order. Item said it was in stock at the store where I wanted to pick it up. Its been 6 days and no response. Left multiple voice messages and emails and nobody called me back. I even went to the store but was told there was no stock. They went ahead and charged my Visa card, but no stock, and no response as to when I could pickup my order. I ordered the Item from BC Fasteners and they sent it to me next day. Still waiting for KMS to refund me my money. Never shopping here again.

Decent store, fun to browse.. but that’s about it. I have purchased many items from KMS in the past. These days and 99.9% of the time, I find a better price online. I always say that their big sales only bring their prices down to where everyone else is usually at.
EDIT: I recently spoke to a employee at KMS about this and was told that they have a very small profit margin do to importing fees and duties. He mentioned that they are constantly looking for ways to get rid of middle man and source products direct from the manufacturer. I completely understand this and appreciate what KMS does for the local DIY community.

Went in to buy BE generator today. I wanted to have a look at one but they had none on display and would not open one for me to look at. They also couldn't answer my questions I had on the generator. I will be going some where else to make my purchase.

Only 3 stars due to online shopping...sent me the completely wrong tool and paid for expedited shipping which arrived over a week after ordering. The store is great just skip the online ordering and go to the store.

The products here, even the cheap ones, are pretty darn nice. The staff are friendly and helpful and I have made many a happy purchase here.
Make sure you call to see if they have something in stock as the website does not update live. I had to drive to langley to pick up a drill press that they said they had in stock. The drill press is nice though and they reserved it for me.

The store is really good, but avoid the service shop. Special-order parts from the service shop take a VERY long time to come in. I once had an item on order for 3 months before I cancelled it because it was taking way too long to arrive. During this time I asked the staff several times when it was going to arrive, and each time they just said "1 - 2 weeks".
However, the store is really good. They have great selection, good prices, good sales, and knowledgeable staff.

My go-to tool store. Good selection of woodworking tools, especially if you keep an eye out for sales. Their customer appreciation days, annual woodworking show, and charity work give credit to their ethos. Despite other reviews, I've had nothing but great service here for years. Worth the drive from Vancouver.

Tool lovers paradise. This location has a large discount section as well unlike the Langley location. Just be careful or your wallet might take a hit, especially with princess auto nearby. Have some great deals when they are on and they add an extra year of warranty to tools and have a trade in program.

I have always found items to be well priced, and well stocked. It can be s.l.o.w to get items from the warehouse, but make the time to wait and get those items paid for before the end of your shopping experience.
They have many items from the things that Weekend Warriors may need, to specialty products like welding, woodworking, and tools galore... many things are in stock. KMS's website is up to date, so check online, and see if it's in stock. You may be drawn to other locations for what you need.
I will always support KMS Tools for the reason I can see many display tools, and not feel like I'm being hassled by an employee. They are attentive, but not assertive. They tend to know that you're either 'kicking tires', or have made a decision on a purchase....

This is a man's toy shop! The friendly staff is unusual for this type of retail stall. Their prices are excellent and if you need to pick up power tools at discount they have regular sales. I picked up an excellent of Bosch impact drill and driver for half of the prices offered by other merchants.

after talking to store manager, they have corrected the issue and honored the actual price.
I went to Coquitlam store was looking to get a product which was listed on clearance for $479.00.
I was talking to sales rep about it he told me $479.00.
While i was trying to figure out the cost of rest of the components , the price of the product change to $549.00 online.
So i went a up the sales rep and ask him why the price change online? And what is the price he said $479.00 he got the price from the site...
And he went on check again and comes back and says to me no it $549.00.
All this happened in 15 min.
They change the price right in front of my eyes...not even an explanation or apology. That's their customer service

I found everything I was looking for and got great prices. If you need help finding something, plan your trip near the middle of the day because some departments are unstaffed near closing time. Also, be sure to join the club to get the discounted prices - joining is free and the benefits are positive. Be sure to browse through their monthly flyer to get some great bargains and come on the sale weekend to get the best deals (and support the charity with a donation for a smokie and a drink).

Ron in charge of cordless tools helped me out with the new Makita right angle dual battery hole hog. Very polite and helpful. Also I couldnt find this tool anywhere except KMS Tools. Online you will find it but goodluck getting it to Canada cheap. So kudos to Ron and KMS for coming through for me.

I purchased the wrong differential cover MONTHS ago and just realised that it will not work. This is a $150 part so I was concerned I would be stuck with it. I brought the part back and spoke with James. James went out of his way to not only find me the correct differential cover (which was in stock), but match the price on it as well.
