I just had the worst customer experience this store by its Manager. I bought a Hitachi 8 1/2" Mitre saw and already have 2 broken parts on it. The glider is busted and the blade cover also doesn't work anymore after only 2 1/2 months. They refuse to refund which is fair enough since it's been more than 30 days but there policy says they will give a store credit. He tells me they will give me $90 for it. It's over $450 right now!!!! Or I can get it fixed this time. But the problem with that is it's broken this quick already and once the warranty is done I will be stuck with a broken saw. So that's pretty unfair they sell a saw they won't give me a proper in store credit for. He told me it's to bad, some times you get stuck with things you don't want.... Really? How about stand behind your products or don't sell us junk. I'm going to Home depot, thanks for the help

I’ve been searching for a new supplier for safety equipment for our company, and I thought I would give KMS a shot and put in a very small order ($800) to see how they did. I called this location to put in an order that I could come In and pick up. The girl who answered the phone was “too busy, and it’s just easier for you to order online”. So I did that, and I was given a decent timeline for its delivery. I wasn’t happy about the rediculous shipping cost they were charging, but I needed the gear and I wrote it off as a convenience. I was then sent an email that all of my order (except one harness) wasn’t available at that store and they needed to get it from another local store. When I ordered it said it was available, which makes it kind of frustrations, but since they have multiple stores in the lower mainland I didn’t think it would be much longer. After waiting 2.5 weeks, I started to call and leave messages. I even emailed them too. No one called back or responded to my emails. So I called the store and finally got thru to someone to ask why it was taken so long. Their response “we need to get it from another store and it could take another week or two”. I asked to speak to a manager and when I asked him why no one would call me back to update me he said “you are one of many orders backed up and we don’t have enough time in the day to call you”. Is that good customer service?? They were more than happy to lose the sale then to help me get the safety equipment I needed for my business. How could you guys take an order, give me a deadline, and not live up to it and not care at all? What kind of terrible customer service is that? What they didn’t know is that I operate in 4 provinces and would have made orders ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 a year. I may not be a huge business, but that’s a big loss to anyone. Go somewhere where the people care about the their customers and don’t lie to you to get the sale.

I really like KMS but they really need to get a handle on their online orders. During the Christmas season I ordered an item for store pick up. This was an in stock product yet it took 5 days to get it processed and ready for pick up. I dismissed that experience as a one off given the busy holiday season. This week I put in another online order again on an in stock item. After one day I still hadn't got confirmation of my order being ready so I just went straight to store and they suggested I just grab the item off the shelf and pay a 2nd time and then just email KMS to cancel my online order. Maybe 5 years ago 5 days to process would be acceptable but not anymore. KMS local competitors are able to process in stock items within 2hrs. Companies like Amazon can have items shipped to your door in 2 days even if it is coming from the other end of the country.

Store was well stocked and organized with very competitive pricing the biggest issue is customer service. Before driving across the city I tried calling to confirm stock, had to navigate a maze of options to speak to a person only to again get transferred to a line that never got answered. Twice I tried twice after 20 minute waits I failed. So I chanced a drive over anyway, although nice and courteous the workers were woefully understaffed and overworked (i was made aware of this through small talk I had with the one I had help me find my item). As I proceeded to pay for my item the young lady helping me (again very kind) was very distracted And disinterested in helping to move the line along as much as she was about having light conversation with a coworker or helping another coworker with a flyer issue, to the point I didn't even wait around for my receipt as that last step seemed to take an eternity. This store doesn't have stock issues as much as it has people/professionalism issues. They seriously need to tighten things up, smooth out some of those dull edges

My palette jack broke in that day. I checked that in KMS in Coquitlam was one in the stock. I specially called and double checked that they had one. I ordered it and paid. Then I took an one ton truck and my driver to pick it up. After a half an hour when we came there, we found that they did not have the palette jack in the stock. I was told to come to another day. I spent my time for nothing, I paid to my driver and paid for gas. No palette jack. When I was talking to the manager I could get only $20 discount. They should hire more professional stuff.

Poor experience with KMS TOOL. We will never come back. AND ASK OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY NOT TO PURCHASE FROM THEM. We have ordered online orders from the stores. They charged us on credit card, but the package was partially shipped after 5 days and notice ONLY on their website and told us that the reste need to back-ordered for 2 weeks. WHY YOU CHARGE PEOPLE IF YOU DONT EVEN SHIPPED THE PRODUCT? ??WHY ARE YOU SELL SOMETHING THAT YOU DONT HAVE?! We tried to contact them to cancel the rest of the order and have them refund. NO ONE IS ANSWERING. ALWAYS VOICE MESSAGE AND EMAIL NO REPLY AT ALL. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER. THEY TRY TO IGNORE US AND THE RECEPTIONIST WHO EVER ANSWER OUR CALL JUST NOT LISTEN OUR CONCERN AND TRANSFER US TO VOICE MAIL. WHAT A SERVICE.

lots of good deals all around and they will price match. if you like tools you will like this place (staff not so much) word of advice, if it is not in stock and you can not hold the item in your hands do not get it...things will go wrong and the time you spend fixing it will eclipse the amount you where supposed to save.

Like to support Canadian companies. Do not buy large quantities of gloves or anything else online. I have been waiting over a month for the order. Nobody from KMS contacts you to let you know what is happening with your order. Made order in late May, still have not gotten order as of today. Called the Coquitlam main branch, finally was able to get through to someone to cancel order.

I just want to let everyone know I have been having such a great experience from all the staff at this location. In particular, Navid in the wood working department has been extremely helpful in taking the time to educate me about wood working, dust collection, CNC machining. All the products he has recommended me are now a must have in my shop. There was another time when a staff member was training this very young man and they saw that I needed help and both the associate and this young man helped me find the correct type of band saw. So glad to have met Navid and the rest of the team at this KMS location!

The staff here are so eager to help and a really knowledgeable and always really happy, there's a huge selection of pretty much every kind of tool that you need it's really a candy store for the tradesperson or hobbyist. They advertise extra warranty on a whole bunch of difference kinds of tools free of charge and that's really cool. Highly recommend taking at least 45 minutes to walk around this place

Ive been a customer of kms for over 25 years thru different companies ive owned. First time ordering online has been a nightmare, full of lies and deception. They showed items in stock, and gave an overnight shipment at increased cost which they charged my card for. Then i get an email saying that they only have half my order, then when i complain they cancel my order. I will close down my other 2 construction accounts . Complete garbage!

Great customer service and selection of tools. Tim and John in air tools section provided me with a professional help to choice a compressor (I got CH 220V 20gal). The day after I did a great job, damaged and stripped air filter screw when installing that! (I’m mostly good in this sort of jobs but sometimes happened ;-) ). Called John, he asked to take back the compressor to store to have a look. John did a great job to rethreaded the compressor and changed the filter kit. I’m very happy with his service. Thanks John.
