I've had both positive and negative experiences at KMS. For a while, I did not want to go back there, but under the leadership of their new Sales Manager, I find that I like this store again. The staff have been great recently and there's a good selection of both high-end and low-end tools.

Good deals for tools but in the air tool section there's a rude staff member. He's bald and slouches I believe his name is Shawn. I've had a bad experience with him twice and once with my father. He speaks to you with an undermining tone very rude!

Often cheaper than Amazon, with a wider range than almost anywhere else and knowledgeable and helpful staff that put other tool stores to shame.
Sometimes short of stock on special offers towards the end of the month, so if you're after a bargain, don't hang around after those monthly flyers come out.

Large variety of tools. Staff are quite helpful. These tool stores carry alot more than other stores like homedepot or canadian tire. They also carry more specialized tools. KMS also does price match and hold great deals. Every now and then they have free smokies and pop. Would recommend to anyone new or veteran to trades.

Been going there for years now but have noticed a trend there. things on sale that are popular are not in stock. last 3 day sale ordered in an outta stock on sale item, they got it in on the skid and nearly 3 weeks later no phone call. not the first time. went and looked for knife with two mini knifes keys once again no stock, not interested in waiting forever for them to get it in and not get a call about it. bought a Milwaukee mitre saw c/w stand shipper would not give to me or call main store to confirm I was to get it despite the box saying 1 of 2 and 2 of 2. he made me go to main store and had to get manager. BAD SERVICE!!! too many times. if they don't have it don't wait for it no one wants to be responsible in sales there

Kms is a good store for getting almost everything you need tool wise. Some items can be hard to find with their layout and staff seems to be difficult to locate sometimes. However the prices and availability and frequent sales make this a store I will always return to when I need new gear for work.

Tried to order a die for my tube bender, was originally told to expect 3 weeks for it to arrive. At the end of 3 weeks I called them, and was then told to expect to wait 6 weeks, at least. After 6 weeks, I tried calling them numerous times, upon failing to get through to anybody, I went onto the suppliers website and ordered the die directly from them. Should take 3 business days to arrive. Absolutely infuriating.

This place is just wonderful! Every location I've been to I have had great experiences! I love the monthly sales, then the smoking weekend sales make things even better! They sell quality tools at great prices, they price match (and beat, I think) any legit price elsewhere.
Almost a year ago my tools were stolen, and I had to replace my entire set of Milwaukee cordless tools, a Fien saw, and several other tools. It worked out that they were having a sale on Milwaukee stuff so I got all that stuff, then the next month the Fien saw went on sale, and I had to price match a Makita saw (they beat Home Depot's price). Overall I saved close to $1000 vs. HD.
They don't have the fastest service, it's a warehouse style store, but when you save that much money I can stand to wait around for a couple minutes.
P.S. It really is like a toy store for grown ups...

It was alright. The place seems to he over staffed. So many people working there; everywhere I turned there was someone working there. However, they are too busy to help. I asked a guy about a tool I needed and he pointed to a cheap one and then told me the nice ones are behind the counter and then left. Umm ok i want to check out the nice ones and now Im there standing like an idiot again while a ton of floor staff are around( no idea what theyre doing). Bottom line I got what I needed and at a good price. I checked online the price and store availability before going. Customer service is comparable to lordco. Crappy.

Good selection, reasonably helpfull staff. My 6 mos. old makita cordless drill quit working so I took it back to get repaired under warranty. After a week I called back and told parts were on back order, called back the next week and still back ordered, same for the next week and the week after. Finally I called Makita and got all pissed off with the guy, my bad, they had the part my drill needed , they had a bunch. I called kms and told them what was up (they were completely indifferent, not even a sorry)and had them ship it over to makita repair center in Burnaby (that took 2 days?). They fixed it same day and sent it back the next. KMS did not order the part, makita guy said they've done this before when they're backed up with repairs just to buy time... lame.

The particular person I spoke to on the phone was very impatient and borderline rude when my phone didn't have the best reception. He caught himself before using the curse word but it was obvious he was about to say "I can't hear a f*****g thing you're saying, ya gotta call back man". Obviously I have zero desire to ever go in there, let alone call again.
