After leaving a 5 star when I moved in, now I am thoroughly DONE with this agency. They are lovely getting you IN the property, but not helpful whatsoever when things go wrong.
My oven broke, and I followed procedure, and reported it. After 2 weeks of not hearing anything, I asked for an update. They then told me I've got to get it repaired or fixed myself. Landlord is stingy but it happens. So I arrange for the old one to get removed with Spencers.
Get a time slot for the next day, and 2 emails to confirm the go ahead and I thought FINALLY after a month with NO OVEN in a LOCKDOWN, I was getting somewhere...
Not a word. Nobody came. Why am I surprised?
I am so disappointed with the lack of communication. I have been paying on time, for 16 months and never caused an issue. I even wanted to upsize from flat to house with Spencers because they were so great at helping me find a place in a hard time in my life. GOD knows I won't be staying with Spencers.
At this point I'd rather pay the leaving early fine than give another penny to the dream team of Sloppy Spencers and the Lackluster Landlord.
TL;DR: Happily show you and sell a dream, but then don't be surprised when the door smacks you on the way out.

I had a property to sell, and have not been in this position for some twenty-two years, so was finding it hard to decide which Estate Agent to use to market and sell the property. I was wandering around Wigston with my wife and her sister, and after chatting about our options over lunch, decided to pop into Spencer’s to ask an initial few questions. Jo Thorpe, the Senior Branch Manager, dealt with us, and we were all so impressed with her answers and professionalism that we decided to use Spencer’s to manage the sale of the property. Our next stage was to have the property valued, and we met Mark Taylor, the Leicester Office’s Senior Property Appraisal Manager at the property a few days later. Again, Mark impressed us with his expertise and advice during the valuation, and we knew that we had chosen the correct agents to put the property on the market. Since this time, we’ve had the photos taken of the property, which were superbly done, and the details sent across for checking, which were perfect. The property has now gone on the market, and within a day Spencer’s had set up a block viewing, with around forty interested parties booking viewings for the day. We’ve now popped into Spencer’s Leicester Office for a chat with Gianfranco Paparozzi, who is the Branch Manager (Residential Sales), and were given a fully detailed update on where we were with the marketing of the property and the next steps. We couldn’t be happier with the level of competence and knowledge that each and every member of staff we have had dealings with has shown. We have no doubt that the property will sell in a very short space of time, and that the final stages of the sale will be executed by Spencer’s as excellently as everything up to now.

Spencers were the selling Agents and we dealt with a lady called Emma Jamieson . Estate Agents get a very bad rap but this young lady has completely destroyed that myth . She was professional , courteous , helpful and if she said she was going to do something she did it and kept us informed all the way along . In my eyes she went above and beyond as their client was a difficult client to deal with . I would strongly advise anybody to avoid this letting agency at all cost. I paid all my fees plus a holding deposit on a property that was advertised to be available mid February. When the property was not available I extended my own tenancy for another month. However, when the month was complete this agency informed that my property was still not available and wouldn't be for a further month. The agency were aware that I was 5 months pregnant and could not request further extension on my current tenancy and then decided to withdraw my agreement leaving me with no where to go.

Expected selling my mum's empty house to be really tricky as being done through a lasting power of attorney and living 100 miles away from Leicester. Turned out easier than expected thanks to the help we received from Spencers who managed all the viewings, kept us informed at every stage and even arranged for someone to come and fix the gas central heating boiler when it stopped working this Autumn. First sale fell through at last minute due to a problem further down the chain but Spencers quickly arranged a new set of viewings and found us a second serious buyer who has just exchanged contracts. Particular thanks to Franco and Sandra for keeping me informed throughout the process and to Garfield from lettings for arranging the central heating repair. Also had excellent service from Marcus at their partner Countrywide conveyancing company.

What a refreshing change! After having to deal with 2 other "Local" estate agents over the last year, both losing us the purchase we were aiming for,
Spencers, and particularly Franco, went "the extra mile" in handling the sale of our former house bringing back the concept of SERVICE to the customer! He was always available to deal with whatever was raised and kept us fully informed of progress even when there didn't seem to be any due to others "dragging their feet". Excellent Service - As a landlord I have been very impressed with the customer service I have received from the team, in particular Sam Cable. I have the experience of working with a number of agencies and consider the experience with Spencers to exceed that of any other agent to date. Everyone we've dealt with at Spencer's has been amazing, we were able to sort out a viewing quickly, and when we were chosen to go forward with the tenancy by the landlord, referencing etc was a very smooth and quick process. This is my partner and I's first place together, they've given us loads of advice about electric and water set-up etc.
When we first viewed our flat the previous tenants still lived there and it wasn't in the best state, but we saw past this. Spencer's then let us have a second go in the flat when it was empty to see it properly. They let us take our time (we wanted to measure things etc to know what furniture to buy etc!).
I highly recommend them, the whole team are awesome, and really do want to help you.

This agency is incompetent. Still advertising properties that are no longer up for rent. The staff think that it is acceptable to have people waiting on a property that was supposed to be up for rent but then told on the day of viewing that the tennants are staying on for a month but don't really know if it will be on the market again by then. The manager and another member of staff are unprofessional as they do not take responsibility for this and feel that people should just understand other tennants situations. They obviously have no clue about customer service as if they did , they would take responsibility for a complaint and atleast apologise instead of addressing (rather pathetically) that it isn't their fault.

Paid rent on time every month with no issue, was more than helpful when it came to allowing viewings of the property, returned the keys on time when moving out- now, 2 months later, I still don't have my deposit returned. Spencers being less than helpful in contacting the landlord about the return of my deposit. I'd avoid if you don't want to take legal action at the end of your tenancy.
