I moved to Leicester at the start of January and with in 3 weeks I have been able to move in to an apartment effortlessly with no hassle by using Spencer’s. From the first day of meeting the team until my keys being handed to me I can not fault a single step. Always kept in contact to keep me updated and answered any questions I had swiftly. Made a stressful process almost stress free. Scott was excellent during the viewing process but my biggest thank you goes to Nicola who was amazing start to finish. I would recommend Spencers in Leicester if you are selling or buying a home, they were brilliant. We have finally moved house to a beautiful home after a 19 month process, where what could go wrong did!! We changed to Spencers half way through the process to get things moving. I can honestly say that Franco and his team have earned their fee. They have been up against it trying to get information from a very poor estate agents in Leicester and call centre solicitors who just read from a script. and have doggedly persevered to keep my wife and I updated and keep our spirits up. Max, Sandra and the front line team always answered the phone with a smile and we could tell this each time and nothing was too much trouble. It was a long journey with numerous false starts, but thanks to Franco and the Spencers team, we are very happy in our new home. Thank you Franco, thank you Spencers and thank you all the Leicester team. Finally, do not try and save money using call centre conveyancing solicitors, they will create you problems and delay your move....use Justin Crowson at Frisby and Small in Leicester. Spencers worked very well with him and he is also brilliant!

I have never sold a house before and the one I am selling was my parent's who have sadly died. Mark met me at the property and carefully and concisely took me through the whole process. He was very patient and answered all my queries without making me feel foolish. I was kept informed of all viewings by text and Franco was in touch regularly by phone with updates. He was knowledgeable and friendly, putting me at my ease at the same time giving me the chance to digest information and make considered decisions. Whenever I text Mark with a query he responded to me either by text or phone call. The sale is still going through but so far I cannot fault the service received by the Spencers staff and I am so pleased I used them as my parents bought the house from Spencers over 50 years ago!

I had an appointment today go view a property in Leicester and I was shocked after reaching at the place that there was no one there to show me around. Even though I had an email and text confirmation from Spencers confirming the date, time and place, no one showed up. If there was a cancellation, I'd have expected at least some form of communication from them to notify me about it but they didn't. This was my first experience dealing with them and will certainly be the last. House purchase is already a stressful task and you expect the estate agents to be more reliable, up front and honest about everything. But after this horrible experience (this has never happened to me before) I'd not trust them again.

We are not even with Spencers any more and the problems keep coming. They switched our energy provider without our permission due to their own negligence, and now, two years later we are still dealing with the mess they created. Down another £30 due to their mismanagement and interference, on a late energy payment bill we never knew existed.
How dare you, we have never had one single interaction with this company that was handled properly. Shameful.

Never thought I would write a review for an estate agents (let alone a positive one!), but Scott is absolutely fantastic at what he does. He went out of his way to contact me when he thought a rental property would meet what I was looking for, and more than that even contacted me regarding a pre-arranged viewing to let me know that he had been in to the property and didn't think it would be a good fit. He's proactive, which is incredibly rare in the rental market, and arrives at each meeting with such a friendly and positive attitude he puts a smile on your face.

Our worst experience ever. We rented a property through Spencer's. We have been really good tenants, paid on time, kept the house clean at all times. We've now vacated the property and they are not returning our deposit. Lack of communication as to why. We have made a complaint to the deposit scheme and will be taking things further. As suggested I have sent you an email and surprise surprise no response as usual.

I recently completed a purchase, dealt with Franco and Sandra Nightingale.
Franco called to arrange a viewing as soon as the property came on the market. Once our offer was accepted Franco kept us in the picture of timescales etc. Sandra kept in touch with us and was very patient as our mortgage was slow in coming. She liaised with our solicitors and the buyers well.

Well where do I start ?
I live over 200 miles away from Leicester and as the Executor of my parents estate felt the heavy weight of the responsibility of ensuring I "did a good job " of winding everything up which obviously included selling their lovely home .Where to start ? Well i do have some knowledge of Leicester and its estate agencies having lived there for a while .I chose to invite 5 of the best known agents in to give a valuation but what i was really interested in finding out was which Company really would do the best job for us .
Spencers turned out to be head and shoulders above the Competition.
John who arrived on a Saturday afternoon to give us a valuation survived a mean grilling from me and my husband .He remained ever the consummate professional even though im sure he would have preferred being at LCFC home game !
John left us with all the information we needed bar a valuation but to be honest this wasnt what made me choose Spencers, it was after receiving a call a few days later from Franco the branch manager that i made up my mind to use them .There was no hard sell just lots of information about the Company generally but also about himself ,his experience of selling property in Leicester and an assurance that i would receive a first class service not only from the team but from Franco personally.
All viewings ,and there were many ,were all accompanied and
within 3 weeks of signing the contract with Spencers we had a buyer . The house was really in a position where we felt pretty confident that it would sell fairly easily but without the expertise of Franco who literally oversaw the entire process from beginning to end but worked especially hard on the day of exchange and " got the job done " when it looked as if it wasnt going to happen frustratingly for a third day running .Well done Franco .
Selling the family home of many years is always going to be an emotional journey but with Franco and his team ( especially Emma ,Dan and the gentleman who accompanied all the viewings) it was as painless as i could have wished for .

Is it possible to leave no star rating, our experience with Countrywide and Spencers has been an absolute nightmare that we would not wish on our worst enemies.
We moved into Equinox House with maintenance issues still outstanding such as leaking toilet and sinks, sockets hanging off the wall, no blinds whilst on the ground floor facing a very busy road restricting our privacy, we've had pedestrians as well as cars stuck in traffic look into our bedrooms during all hours of the day.
The building is like a drug dealers trap house, there's plenty of strange people in and out so there's no form of security there. There's a homeless man living under the communal staircase who has been more pleasant than some of the drug dealers who've created a few altercations with people from the complex including an incident that involved 2 men against one female resident in the car park.
Speaking of the car park they choose to charge some residents £50 a month to use whilst majority of people that use it have mentioned they don't have to pay for it. Everyone has access to the car park even people that don't live here! The parking is very poorly managed, with parking parking as they please including blocking the exit!
They informed us it was professions only, just to find out majority of occupiers in the complex are students, so expect to hear music with heavy bass consistently from 11pm onto the early hours of 4/5am EVERYDAY without fail, oh and also the smell of marijuana in the corridors.
On one occasion there was a fault with the fire alarm and the whole complex had to endure the piercing sound of a fire alarm consistently from 11pm until the following day around 10am.
We've been here over a month and none of the maintenance issues have been resolved - not a single one, still no blinds, toilet seat and still managing with a leaking toilet and sinks.
No one seems to be able to help with anything, you get told to contact one person who refers you back to the first person you were in contact with.
Whatever you do, don't do this to yourself stay far away from this company and building complex. We didn't realise we were paying to experience hell.

This is the last time we will be using Spencers. The service is unprofessional, slow and when the going gets tough and they cannot answer simple questions they stop responding and returning calls. We wish we had read the reviews before using them. We would highly advise not to use Spencers as a landlord or as a tenant. Our first time experience with them has been horrendous.
