I would like to place on record my appreciation of the excellent treatment I received at the Princess Royal Hospital, Orpington from the moment I arrived in A & E at 0145 hours on Good Friday in great pain, from then until 0600 hrs the care and attention I received was second to none. Then I was admitted to unit 2, Medical 9, Bay 129, bed C and again the Doctors and Nurses were so attentive to my needs. I spent 6 days in hospital and every effort was made to make my stay as comfortable as possible, especially as I an allergic to practically every known antibiotic. I cannot stress how grateful I am for the excellent treatment I received from the Doctors, Nurses and all the Ancillary workers who made my stay enjoyable. Over 13 years and many illnesses and operations I can honestly say, in my eyes the PRU is the best hospital and I am indebted to them for their wonderful care.

What can I say waiting times unbelievable service what can I say don't want to run down the hospital because majority of the staff do care and they are trying hard to look after us but this is not the NHS That I Used to Know politicians need to pay attention and see what is happening NHS everywhere in the UK and somehow I do think the politicians know what's happening and they don't give a damn

Great staff. Always make you comfortable. I regularly visit for treatment. The main car park is always full up. So I tend to park in saintsburys car park at locks bottom. There is a ramp slip way into the hospital suitable for the disabled.

I would like to thank all the staff in the stroke unit . The level of care by the nurses is unbelievable. I don't think the care coud have been better had it been private. A good choice of food by outside catering. Even an omelet was perfect.. anyone can find fault with food but I honestly think given your in hospital and not a restaurant you would need to be very picky. The swift action by doctors helped to save my life or worse. I will always be grateful to everyone of them and in particular to Gina from India.the hospital is very clean and is first class as far as I'm concerned.

Parking availabilities caused most of my stress attending this hospital - esp when you are on your own with a young little one who needs to go to urgent care! Even the sainsbury parking adjacent to the hospital could be a bit of a challenge. Tip: consider 45mins ahead of appointment time to avoid being late. Otherwise, care at the hospital has been professional and courteous. Although this is an extremely busy hospital and staff are under resource and over tired. We were lucky to get seen just under 2 hours at urgent care.

Having experienced the PRU hospital my own experience was excellent but that was only for a nuclear injection prior to surgery more recently a close friend was treated for breast cancer her treatment was appauling to the extent that she transferred her care to Guys As of today a cousin by marriage is on the cancer ward, they have been excellent but the Management team are sending her home tonight it's now 19.35 she is 85 year old and being released in to the care of her 74 year old sister with no carer contact until tomorrow this is pure negligence

Hospital itself is relatively new I think and quite modern. However whoever created this hospital obviously didn't factor in the parking spaces needed. I'm happy to pay but I swear the spaces available is enough for like a quarter of the people coming... I'm terms of care. We have had 2 births from this hospital. The actual delivery moment was fantastic but the aftercare was slow and they kept forgetting about us on both times... Now I know why hospitals are always full coz they take their sweet time to discharge people...

I had to visit A&E with my 4 month old baby as she developed allergic reaction. To start with -nurses were warm and supportive, though at times I felt they were very busy that kept forgetting giving medicine to my baby and I had to remind them. The place I felt was noisy with loud talking of the staff and sounds of furniture dragging, loud closing of the dustbins. Probably that's too much to expect, but I couldn't help notice as my baby couldn't sleep through those noises and was quite fuzzy. However minor this might feel, I felt I need t o share this - I was in the hospital for 6 hours worried about the baby and they are aware that the baby is exclusively breastfed. During my stay, there was not any staff member to drop by to check if I was ok or wanted anything to eat/drink or at least suggest me to order one. I felt very lonely and ended up waiting with out eating anything.

This is mine and my families go to hospitals the staff are helpful and caring, we visited the hospital today and we were seen quickly and we received excellent care. Bare in mind that sometimes the waiting time can be long for A&E but it's definitely worth it. Due to Covid only the ill person in question could go into the hospital.

Cannot fault the Princess Royal. Usually I get referred to Lewisham hospital, which I have to decline, and request myself I'm seen at the PRUH. Lovely and clean hospital.. staff are attentive and amazing in all departments.. my whitecoat hypertension is nearly non-existent at this hospital, as they make you feel really relaxed and welcoming. They are assuring and the nurses down at urgent care, are lovely!

My 95 year old Mum was rushed there on Mothers Day after she collapsed and I thought she’d had a stroke. She had to go without me but they couldn’t have looked after her any better. The on call dr phoned me 5 and a half hours later, told me she’d just fainted, did many scans on her, took her for a walk .... and were referring her for outpatient appts...but she could come home, so I drove her back to ours while she regaled me on how much food they gave her (apparently loads ????) THANK YOU ????

I would just like to comment on the fantastic treatment i received when i was admitted for a swollen right leg . Firstly in the emergency assessment unit and then and surgical ward 4. The staff from top to bottom were wonderful and kept me informed as we went through the process of finding a diagnosis. The doctors were thorough and informative and the nurses were cheerful and meticulous in their duties. Staff Nurse Magangan even e-mailed the parking people to inform them i had been taken in and my car was still in the car park. As soon i was discharged i went straight to Sainsburys and bought both sets of staff some treats and left them at the front desk as a thankyou. If i receive a bad service i will complain, so when you see a group of people go above and beyond it should be noted.

Worst A&E! We wait for nearly four hours to find out that they let people go ahead of us. After waiting from 4:30pm to 8:10 pm with 2 little kids we find out that we have to wait at least one more hour. We didnt have a choice becouse kids have to sleep and we left in pain. My wife come back for thirt time with same problem kidney problems and urinal infection. Every time same doctor offer her paracetamol and to come back if she is still feeling pain. There is no chance for referal appoitments becouse of covid-19, no chance for treatment becouse of this doctor and my wife is still in pain after 9 mounths.

I was recently admitted to HACU ward 5, and the nurses within this ward are amazing. Most nurses Filipino and they are brilliant, very hard working, kind, caring, considerate and smiling beautifully. I was very happy with the consultants and care assistants. The food and cleaning staff are also always charming and hard working. It certainly helped me to recover, I would say it was the best NHS hospital I have stayed at.

Single Covid vaccine dose in Israel 'less effective than we thought' Surge in infections dampens optimism over country’s advanced immunisation programme Coronavirus – latest updates Peter Beaumont Israel’s coronavirus tsar has warned that a single dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine may be providing less protection than originally hoped, as the country reported a record 10,000 new Covid infections on Monday. In remarks reported by Army Radio, Nachman Ash said a single dose appeared “less effective than we had thought”, and also lower than Pfizer had suggested. By contrast, those who had received their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine had a six- to 12-fold increase in antibodies, according to data released by Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer on Monday. The issue of some vaccines being less effective after a single dose rather than two is well known, as well as the fact that protection is not immediate. While the first dose can take several weeks to promote an effective antibody response, the second dose can trigger different responses, supercharging the protection. Pfizer itself says a single dose of its vaccine is about 52% effective. Some countries such as the UK have delayed administering their second doses to try to maximise the number of people given a first dose. Questions over the effectiveness of the vaccine were raised amid reports that thousands of Israelis were still becoming sick after receiving the vaccine, although the public health services head, Sharon Alroy-Preis, said that in most cases this was because the individuals had not built up sufficient antibodies after being inoculated before being exposed to the virus.

I've had to visit urgent care here twice in the past week and both times I've visited (Boxing Day and the bank Holiday Monday 28th - I know how to pick my days ????) the staff here were brilliant. They kept any patients with covid or symptoms of well separated, despite sometimes being challenged by spacial issues, and thought on their feet each time they were issued with a new challenge. Nurses were patient throughout an extremely busy BH shift and did nothing but smile and genuinely help following repeated questions of wait time/ queue number. It's a shame people are purposefully taking up their time by booking in appointments just so they can sit with their partner/ friend/ whoever in a time person count needs to be kept low, but this is no fault of the hospital - just a very good example of why the NHS is so overrun. Thank you to all the nurses, doctors and staff who helped me and work so tirelessly over this otherwise festive period.

I did visit the urgent care unit for an appointment in the A&E and paid the parking for 2 hours... After seeing the doctor he decided to sent me to the Covid ward since i was much worse than i thought. I stayed in there for 12 days and got treated really well from the staff and the all were excellent. When i finally got out i had a parking ticket on my car saying that i did'nt have a valid ticket. And that's true since i only paid for 2 hours but i had no chance to pay and i had no idea how long i would bein there... I tried to appeal and explain the situation but with no luck. That really brings the over all score down to 1 star even though, once again tha staff werre fantastic.

Tragedy It is very bad I felt, I went to the hospital for an earlier telephone consultation and asked for a translator because my English is not good. Nobody saw me, and on the contrary they said that they checked several times if I was in the corridor and I was not seen, I had a terrible stomach pain, I emphasize that I'm pregnant. After an hour some nurse came to see me, asked about my name, I confirmed her and said that she needed a person who would help me understand, the woman made a terrible face, she was probably shocked that she left me and went, a tragedy.

I have never been in worst hospital in my life, staff is extremely rude and they just don't care. My wife is in 38 week of pregnency, ahe was not feeling baby movents at all so we give them the call. They told us to come at 14pm, so we arrive we was waiting on 2nd floor for more than 5h so we decided to go to Queen Elizabeth hospital and when they heard whole story they saw us in 10min. Treatment in Princess Royal University Hospital was terrible.

Horrendous place to give birth induction gets booked by a consultant then you can wait up to a week in there for a bed due to labouring women or emergencies leaving your whole family behind at home. Lots of midwives with coughs and colds, terrible food frozen then microwaved and plopped on a plate so constant tummy pain before your labour even begins. No pain relief other than paracetamol after a sweep that could leave you with hours of contractions but will not give you gas and air unless dilated to 3cm+ and will not help you labour further if no bed leaving you abandoned and in agony. Lets in psrtners on induction and postntal wards with coughs and zero supervision over masks yet swab women for covid when they come in but not the visitors or birth psrtner who can spend from 2-8PM near you and your vulnerable baby. Will keep you on a catheter as a "kings protocol " for 12 hours after a vaginal birth and if requested to remove will be told off and say your defying medical advice. Sends assistants to answer buzzer who then have to go find your midwife and never come back numerous times. Never go here to have a baby it's gone down hill majorly

On Friday 7th August I felt very breathless and was coughing up blood-stained mucus. At 5pm I went to A&E, I was impressed by their cross-infection strategies. I spent 6 hours in A&E, having tests for covid, ECG, other blood tests and finally at 11pm I had chest x-ray. I knew I did not have covid because I have been isolating for nearly 5 months. I was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia and admitted to Medical ward 9. I was put on an intravenous antibiotics and kept in overnight. All the medical treatment and nursing were fine. On Saturday 8th August at 11am I was told I would be given oral antibiotics and could be discharged. About midday myself and the other 2 ladies on my ward were transferred to Medical 3. Both these ladies were unable to do anything for themselves and could not get out of bed. By this time I was feeling much better and waiting to go home. Another younger and more mobile lady was admitted to the ward in the afternoon. I finally got my meds at 5pm! After a 6 hour wait. Whilst on medical 3 the door to the ward was kept closed because all the patients in the ward had not had their covid results.( A nurse called Charlotte gave us this in formation) Yesterday I had a phone call to say that I had a negative covid test, as I knew I would. However one of the other patients had a positive covid test, therefore I have to isolate for 14days. I am prepared to do this however I am not at all happy to discover that during my hospital stay I was exposed to covid. I was not safe or protected by the hospital , How can they put 4 people in a ward together when they were still waiting for their results? Tests in a Florida hospital have shown that coronavirus droplets can travel up to 16 feet! I have done everything possible not to get covid and feel some admin person who sorts out the beds has put me in unnecessary danger.

Currently waiting in the EAU unit waiting to go home. I would urge anyone attending A & E or their associated departments to stop and take a good look around just to see how hard ALL the staff work in the individual departments. Just because you may have had to wait an extra 30 minutes or so I guarantee it's due to an emergency somewhere that staff are dealing with. I have been kept informed all day by polite, kind, happy and knowledgeable staff where nothing is too much trouble. We all know the hospital is at full stretch, that the car park is always full, and it takes forever to have a blood test but that's not the staff's fault. Remember a thank you costs you nothing but means everything.

Just spent very many hours in A&E with 93 year old mum after a bad fall and broken hip. All of those we came across were truly fantastic. Mum particularly praised them for always taking time to explain what they were doing, proposing to do, and why, even for the smallest of jobs. Thank you for making a difficult time much easier.

My experience here both as a patient and visitor has always been positive. I can't fault staff...courteous and friendly. I have visited the Day Surgery Centre, Outpatients, A and E, Urgent Care and Ambulatory Care in the last 6 months and yes, the last 3 involved lengthy waits but I would expect that and none were excessive waits.

Before anything is said, I have to say that regardless of all the issues we encountered, once you are through A&E the doctors and nurses were amazing. Very attentive and professional. We admitted our father at 8.15pm, after having a fall and his left side being numb. The triage nurse was awful and didn't even look at him whilst typing away on the computer. She honestly could not care less. My dad could have been on fire and she wouldn't have noticed. It took 4 hours for a blood test to be taken. As the hours went by, his condition worsened. By 3am, we were finally seen to by a doctor. I have to say that the doctors in A&E deserve double whatever they get paid. We saw arguments, a fight, security doing absolutely nothing (as usual with hospitals, absolutely useless). Once you get past the rude, emotionless reception staff (not UCC, they were great), the endless waiting and awful hospital management the care is very good. This was my first time visiting PRUH and will most definitely be my last. It wouldn't be my first choice even if I were ran over outside! The 2 stars were for the excellent doctor's care and easy parking.

I spent 3 and a half hour waiting to be seen today in the emergency care . I was isolated basically to a plaster cupboard as I have E Coli and then the doctor finally come to see me and advice me to take paracetamol and go to your Doctors and get them to do blood tests and send off a stool sample . I’m 13 weeks pregnant and i thought they would at least put my on a drip to get some fluids in me as I have had diarrhoea for 4 days and have been more than 100 times. What a waste of a Boxing Day. I feel very upset how I was treated. Did not even check the baby Disgusting !! ???? got back home and it’s still bad I’m going to have to go East Surrey where I should of gone in the first place.
