A&E staff are so rude from the receptionist not even being able to great a patient properly seems like they would like to be anywhere else but there, can't even put on a simple smile. The security that thing some scared little thing was 4 times the size of me and was shaking like a leaf had to call 3 more security. Animals at the zoo get treated better than patients at A&E in Newham hospital. Other departments in the hospital are okay.

Came here on Sunday morning to the urgent care department. Was not busy at all and to get seen, x-ray, seen again and discharged was a little over an hour. There is a vending machine in the waiting room that takes contactless as well as a coffee machine and a water cooler if you have your own bottle.

I went today for an emergency. From the Emergency department they told me to go to Zone 4 and the lady from the entrance was very rude with me, she told me "Why do I have to go there... Nobody will see me!" I went there. The doctor and the midwife's was very helpful... They told me to bring my husband and my 1 month baby to feed him because I had to wait longer. My husband came with the baby and the same lady at the entrance send him in the wrong place and shouted at him.

I believe one of the worst service in the United Kingdom I was taking my wife there 10:30am in the morning I left on the night 2 am from the hospital They keep telling me there wasn't MANY doctor there to see my wife , they done the blood test 2 time scan and I was waiting like a donkey. whole morning all day. It's totally out of order not acceptable in United Kingdom. As I pay the tax in this country. I deserve to get better service I think government has to look into it newham General Hospital seriously

This must be the most worst hospital in the history of the country. Absolutely unprofessional, I needed a blood test to see if my drink was spiked and they said sorry we cannot provide this service here . What service are you there to provide them ? Turned me away after waiting. Absolutely pathetic and rude and horrible. I should have went to a different hospital who would have provided me with the necessary tests !!!

I'd have been treated better by strangers as I give birth in the gutter than here at Newham! I'm pregnant again & won't be making the same mistake. Will find another hospital!

Recently had a child born here. The midwife team are amazing although techically part of Barking Birth Centre, they also work from here too. We originally planned to have a home birth due to covid but due to some changes had to go into hospital last minute. The birth suite is outstanding. Clean and well equipped with birth pool, bean bags and birth Ball to help mothers to be change position to aid in the final stages of labour. There's also private shower and toilet facilities which are clean and well maintained. All the staff were incredibly professional, caring and took pride to go above and beyond their duty to ensure you're comfortable, understand your options and risks involved with any procedures offered. The follow up service is also to a high standard to make your baby is healthy and that you're hoping and healing OK. Initially I was a bit apprehensive using this hospital from reading the reviews here. However from my experience, the service you get here is on par if not better than private. I highly recommend this hospital and the team. They offer an amazing service and can't praise them enough.

Grateful for the care that I recieved last night after a totally unexpected admission to A&E. I would like to thank nurse Michael for being so professional, attentive, maintaining my dignity and being incredibly kind. Dr Kenneth who was thorough, patient, knowledgeable, and escalated and actioned my care plan quickly preventing unnecessary waiting. He was committed to finding me the answer's I needed and he successfully did so. Thank you consultant Claire who performed a bedside scan promptly and referred swiftly. Sonographer Rachel in ultrasound who scanned me 3 times within an hour, she was humorous, so kind and compassionate but also incredibly competent and professional, she really reassured me and made me feel comfortable and at ease. I told her I hope we never cross paths again but I know if necessary I would be looked after well. Based on my recent experience I would most definatley feel less reluctant about attending urgent care when required as the entire experience was faultless. Thank you for all that you do for service users, selflessly. I hope you are all recognised for the great work that you do.

A&E emergency is like a hell in newham university hospital. Humanity died in there. Can't believe that receptionist and nurses are so rude over a patient who is already struggling with severe pain. Asking questions but don't want listen the answers. Make you feel like you have done some big mistake by just coming to their in such a difficult time. I am sorry to say this but their behaviour is so irresponsible so bad that can effect patients mental health straight away. According to NHS we as a patient we can not say anything to the staff because it will take as abuse but what about how they behaving in such rude way to the patient? Is not an abuse? Would definitely like to know.

The Asian lady at reception is unbelievably rude. She shouts for no reason and quite frankly I'm not even sure why she's at the entrance greeting people. Not a welcoming person AT ALL. Overall, the hospital service is okay. It gets quite busy at times so it takes a while to be seen.

Awfull experience not the first time either my wife was suppose to have a Emergency c section because of risks that can follow if natural delivery was undertaken however these people allow my wife to start her labour and expecteted her to give natural birth because they dont read notes properly lack of care and kindness am not a rasict either nor a person who discriminates it seems to me they just put all these African Origin Nurses amd midwife who actually have no duty or care onky do the job for the money is simply awfull can not express how helpless a man can feel whilst being in this hospital looking for help but no body wants to help....

The worst thing about living in Newham is that I have to use this hospital, as it’s our closest. Yesterday, at 21 weeks pregnant, I was told to go to A&E. The department was packed full of sick patients waiting to be seen, with no measures to keep us safe except refusing to allow visitors to stay with you. I practically begged to have my husband stay with me because I was stressed and crying but he was turned away. Yet other people were somehow allowed to have their spouses and friends with them, and patients were allowed to take their masks off despite there being vulnerable people in the ward. I must have arrived around 10.30pm. I didn’t get home til nearly 5am. At around 3.30-4am a doctor told a girl who was waiting with someone else in the waiting room that she “probably has covid” and should get a swab test done. I am now worried about my own exposure and safety. I feel that I’ve had to compromise my own safety by having something urgent checked out, and Newham hospital did nothing to make sure that patients weren’t being exposed to Covid for no reason. Really worrying and upsetting.

Nurses in the maternity clinic going around the clinic WITHOUT MASKS!!!!! I said I am allergic to aspirin and the person I had the first visit with was prescribing it to me! I gave a list of my allergies and she had to look them up on google... the worse experience ever! The staff was extremely rude and my stress level are over the moon! Thanks a lot for this horrible experience.

The members at the door are worst. They need lots of training how to talk to people. Doctor and physio are best in the Heather Ward in their behavior and service. Wants to give 5 star to them. But I wish if there was no star option to give for the door.

The worst place where I could have ever been. I was with my mother after a traffic accident and the staff didn't take responsability after 3 hours of waiting. She couldn't even breathe and the only excuse of the nurses was "she is not in the system" A disgusting hospital and staff.

Absolutely pants!!!! How on earth do they get away with such poor communication with patients re operations. I just can't believe that waiting 12 hours in A&E to be sent home wasn't enough. I then get put under general anesthetic for injections which required local. I just can't express my experience of the micro aggressions and poor dismissive practice of Dr Hetish. I just can't right now.

Please please please avoid this hospital! Especially A&E! I had very bad experience with them! The only people who were nice there are those working at the reception. The medical staff was rude to me. I spend 4 hours in A&E waiting for any attention. I suspect they simply forgot about me. The doctor who handled my case finished her working day and only when I reminded of myself I was finally seen by another doctor. Borth of them absolutely ignored what I was saying. I was diagnosed with urine infection even though I did a test a day before and there were no signs of infection. When I said that it can't be that and that maybe its better to do the ultrasound to check. I was complete ignored and said that thay are absolutely sure it was that. They prescribed me antibiotics and sent me back home. I guess it was the easiest thing to do for them and they didn't care about my health at all but only about closing the case as soon as possible. Thanks God I didn't listen to them and didn't take antibiotics. Instead I went to do the ultrasound in private clinic where I was confirmed that it was NOT an infection and that my pain was caused by different reasons and needed absolutely different treatment!

I've had some bad experiences with some nurses here, but on my recent admission in resus & Tayberry ward, the nurses were brilliant. Very caring, attentive and clearly very happy to do their job, thank you for making a difficult time more bearable. Especially admirable considering the current circumstances with Covid-19. Nurses JB, Justine and Zeneb were especially helpful, many thanks.

I had two children in this hospital, one was born in 2019 and one was born in 2020 and the midwifes and the nurses were horrible and arrogant. I made a big mistake by coming to this hospital. If I give it no stars I would have done that.

Unqualified registrants!! If I could I would give 0 stars to this hospital. Try to avoid the A&E here at all costs especially if your case is a bit peculiar and you don't have the most common and obvious emergencies like a heart attack, stroke or physical injury etc. The only nice, professional amd competent worker was the very kind nurse who took my blood tests that were also unnecessary, fact that he actually agreed with but even if he felt that the doctors wouldn't let me go without them. I came at 111's recommendation without being able to urinate and with bladder pain, being investigated for nervous problem to the bladder. The first nurse who assessed me told me to stop using medical words and that she had no idea what my proposed diagnosis is, also she wasn't familiar with the term "urine retention". She sent me to the GP and completely ignored my symptoms, then the GP who was not from England originally had difficulty understanding what I was describing in english and after assessing me and ignoring me he sent me back to the A&E where I met the only professional person in that hospital. I have been to that hospital more than 5 times in the last months and they just sent me back and forth. If you are able to, avoid at all costs. Waiting times are extremely long and doctors don't even take the time to listen to your medical problems, they just want you gone faster. Also another healthcare professional who works in the same setting told me that Junior Doctors in the A&E are really unlikely to solve my issues as my case is more complex, best seek the help of Senior doctors, which is difficult because the emergency department is only filled with not properly educated youngsters and unqualified HCA's. The youngster who assessed was also incredibly arrogant and fussy and told me "how dare I want to see an urologist" when my bladder is aching constantly but not exploding, needless to say my GP said I need to be seen by one as well.. terrible service.

We (Myself and my wife) opted for a C-section and the experience before the C-section is nothing to write home about. The C-Section was expected to happen on a Thursday and we waited all day but no one informed us that it won't take place anymore. No communication and we were left in the dark. My wife vomited at some point and this was not cleaned for hours and they left her area in that state. The following day, she was taken to the theater twice on the delivery day and the epidural given to her worn out and she was in pain before she was finally moved to the theater for the operation (the second time). She was sent back to the ward at first because of an emergency on other patients- And i start to wonder, what if my wife's situation escalated to an emergency as well, does this means that there won't be any doctor on ground to carry out the operation? The two star above is for the good work carried out by the mid-wife when she was moved to the first floor before the operation and the post-natal midwife. Aside this, all other experiences were horrible and they even left a small scar on my baby girl's head when bringing her out- i was told it was the spatula. Although, they apologized for this and we were informed that this will wear out.

I had all my 4 kids in newham hospital and I wouldn’t choose any other hospital. My first born was 2007 and the last was 2020. The midwifes are very helpful and very very patient from scan appointments to delivery I had all good experience and care. My last born I had him in the 1st lockdown midwife are beyond amazing! There food is amazing and the stuff are kind and sweet. The only problem that I feel it’s short of stuff and midwifes works extremely hard with very little break in between. Overall I’ll definitely recommend newham hospital And in I want to thank all the midwifes, doctors and stuff who work hard to give us the best care thank you to the bottom of my heart ❤️

Horrible experience! a lot of the midwives here are rude and insensitive, Also they all need to brush up their English speaking skills. They made several mistakes during the delivery process of our baby. One of them were the doctor forgot to remove the placenta completely which resulted in my wife losing blood a lot. A Dnc was performed later to remove the remaining placenta pieces. People in our place would have sued them for all the medical negligence. Don’t deserve any star. If you want to deliver your baby go elsewhere avoid this hospital.

These starts are for MIDWIVES ONLY! I gave birth to my first child at Newham 2020. I was very scared due to the past experiences of others and comments on google. However, i would not go anywhere else. From pregnancy to birth everything and every midwife was awesome, caring, friendly and actually listened to me and gave the best advice Maybe things have changed or its pandemic effect but most midwives on Zone 4 on ground floor are great. I can't remember all the names but i happen to always come across Fedilia (hope the spelling is correct) a lot. Fedilia is amazing knows her stuff and gets the work done. She talks to u and listen to you. Thank you! Zone 2, first floor where i gave birth! Gosh i was sooooo lucky to have 7-8 amazing midwives. So many because of the long labour. Monica Ellis you are a star. Monica K, and there were other amazing midwives with Monica K during birth who were soooo caring and helpful. One of them patiently fed my child after birth, she warmed up the milk, burped him etc. They encouraged me through out. Katrina Jade and others i can't remember. They would come even if i ring the bell 10th time. Thank you ladies!

They told me come anytime before 5 for an injection as it’ll won’t take more than 15min. I’ve been here for 1hr 36min now. Every time i asked how long it’ll be... “just few a sec and we’ll call you” Then she’s gone for 30min or so. Worst hospital in london. Please do not go there. Report as much as possible if you can.

I would give it 0 stars or minus if possible. My experience of the maternity unit this year was awful..the staff are unhelpful, unfriendly in some cases rude and unsympathetic when it became apparent my pregnancy was not progressing as it should. I would not recommend this place at all, I'd warn against it.

I had a colonoscopy today in the Jasmine Ward at Newham General Hospital. Nurses excellent and caring. Doctor Kulhalli explained everything prior to starting procedure & was very professional. I find having a colonoscopy really uncomfortable. So, I appreciated the medical teams efforts to try and put me at ease. Tea, Toast and Apricot Jam after the procedure made a nice change to the usual tea and biscuits.
