Overall it was a good experience. The food at Etta was below par, but the counselors and the rest of the experience was good.

POOR MEDICAL SENIOR STAFF LET MY BLOOD PRESSURER AT DANGEROUS RATE FOR 10 STRAIGHT DAYS UNTIL I LEFT ON MY OWN AND WENT STRAIGHT TO ER. Marranda was horrible and denied me medical attention when I ask that my BP be checked. She told me I had SEEN the NP the day before and it would be a week before I saw A Doctor. This is all documented in my file. Verify with LAURIN who was GREAT. Got BP checked a couple of hours later 228/105. Marrannda was forcing me to go to class and wall around like that. Nurse Jeff was GREAT also Nurse Audra. HANK is the BEST Counselor on the place. Did not see my councilor for 9 days doctor for 12 days. NP for 13. Good Place to DIE !!!

Overall I got a lot out of my experience at oxford treatment center. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Compared to other places I have been to or heard about this one was a lot nicer and more comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone struggling with addiction. Thank you

My time at the Oxford Treatment Center was excellent. Everything from the housing to therapy was first class. If you are doing your research on where to go to treatment or looking for a loved one, stop looking, this is your place. I would like to thank the staff for the passion they put into their work and the support they show each individual.

Horrible experience !!! I recommend that you look elsewhere for treatment, I speak from a position recently being a patient there / 6/19 discharge. The medical side was a straight up shi#@show, bordering on malpractice!!! Once they have you there (Mississippi) you are basically stuck, at that point you become a number, not a patient, its a numbers game!! I personally felt like cattle being herded out to pasture. For a private facility, the food was garbage. Ralph (Tech) & Ricky (Therapist) best staff there, thank you!!

The program at OTC was top notch, some issues but the pros definitely out weighed the cons. I want to give a shout out to therapist Stepahnie, Brent, Dejan, Marty and Hank.. and to some wonderful caring TAs, Eleanor, Stephanie and Erin. Thanks to everyone for helping me get clean and sober

I went to this facility at the beginning of the Covid crisis and their procedure in testing and getting you into detox is efficient. Detox is not a pleasant thing, and it never will be. I was there from 4/15/20-5/16/20. Today marks 118 days of continuous sobriety. The staff cares. The time spent here is what you make of it. The Therapy: wow, the approach at this treatment center is top notch. as i mentioned; treatment is what you make of it. they offer lots of different things to help keep patients engaged. There was art therapy (i learned to paint with acrylic paint), yoga (its a lot harder than one would think!) equine therapy (which included horseback riding and demonstrations), music therapy (choosing and discussing songs in relation to recovery), ropes course (one of my favorites -- working as a team to accomplish some type of physical goal outdoors), and a multitude of classroom setting classes involving understanding the brain and why we do the things we do and how to prevent relapse in the future. The cool thing about all the therapies (art, equite, music and ropes) was that while these activities were being done the engagement was all recovery related. OTC's approach to treatment is not to scare and shame you into sobriety but rather to embrace who you are as a person and help you get the tools you need to combat cravings in the future. Shoutout to Deja G. and Breanna C. Two of the best therapists at that place in my opinion. Campus: The campus is beautiful and spread out. The therapy classes are spaced out and assigned per your group color. It is your responsibility to get to and from these classes and walking is part of the therapy. Of course if it was pouring or you have a disability you can hitch a ride on the transport. There was a beautiful lake, it was super quiet, they had HORSES! The horses were so amazing and gentle. They have a gym and a decent sized cafeteria. Accommodations: this center is really nice in comparison to alot of other facilities. for the most part it is clean -- the rooms are very roomy and the beds are comfortable. you will only ever have 1 roommate and that 1 roommate will share a private bathroom with you. If you are cold natured I would recommend bringing another blanket as it can get cold. I brought another pillow too because i'm a two pillow kind of girl. The facility buildings were well lit and easy to navigate. The people: it is a melting pot of young and old, rich and poor, crazy and level headed people with a common problem -- addiction. OTC does its best to manage the patients in their care but lets be realistic people -- if you didn't come to OTC to get better for yourself; you are probably going to find you didn't like this place much. They give you alot of self-autonomy there. The freedom to walk to and from classes. They try to keep people on track if they are missing classes but you will hear about the occasional person who refuses and hides in their cabin and/or bathroom to refuse it. Those people aren't ready for the help OTC has to offer. There also will be those who will engage in what I call “rehab romances” … in my opinion; these people also aren’t ready to take the program seriously. The last thing on my mind was trying to form a romantic relationship in treatment. The staff tries to manage this but there is only so much they can do. There just simply isn’t enough staff and not to mention these patients are ADULTS! The staff isn’t there to babysit; they are there to facilitate a treatment center for people who are trying to get well. Medical Assistance: They gave me the necessary drugs to help ease the withdrawal symptoms and then tapered me off accordingly. But here’s the thing. You have to be your own advocate. If you need something, you need to tell them you need it and have a darn good reason why. The other draw back is the wait in the medline. If you aren’t the first person there be willing to be standing in like for 30-45 minutes. There are too many patients and only one nurse administering daytime and evening meds.

My wife is currently in Oxford Treatment Center there in Etta and I had my first visit yesterday. She is really enjoying the facility and I can tell from talking with her that she is really paying attention and learning a great deal about addiction and herself. I am in recovery myself and I can see the changes in her already after just 1 week. I am looking forward to the family weekend so I can live the experience myself. The staff here has been amazing both on the phone and in person. Thank you for all you are doing to help get our lives back in order.

I hate reading all the negative comments posted about OTC. OTC is definitely a place of healing and the people there really care. OTC is very much a place where if you are truly ready to give all the mind altering substances up; you will see major personal growth. From art therapy to equine therapy all the therapists and staff were friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Deja and Breana who i got to know personally in my time spent in Etta. There are bad apples in every treatment center. it is again, who you choose to commingle with. i stayed around the older crowd and like minded individuals. we had therapy after the therapy and i made friendships that i carry with me to this day.the only negative i saw was the sometimes lack of communication between departments (example: between you, the business office, the case management office, etc). but that business office worked with me in a difficult situation. it was much appreciated. the med line was long at times; everyone has to get their meds so that was kind of expected. they give you what you need. and if they can't right at that moment, as long as you advocate for yourself, you will get it. their holistic approach to recovery was just what i needed to change my way of thinking. they challenged me to really examine my thinking and taught me life lessons you can't get anywhere else. the campus is beautiful and the horses are majestic AF! you walk everywhere, and that really helped to clear my mind. yes, there was weird smuggling of things (they try really hard to prevent this and take disciplinary action where necessary) and there was a lot of "rehab romances" in formation. those who chose to participate in those weren't getting the most out of this program. they are not there for recovery as the #1 priority. i solely focused on myself and growing as an individual. the beds were comfy, rooms were spacious, food was decent for "cafeteria food." the chef always had a salad for me when i knew i couldnt eat what was on the menu. the therapists i had were open door policy; i could come and go when i needed to and that was essential in my recovery process. today marks 81 days of sobriety. i will never go back to that way of life and i owe OTC a huge thank you for helping me get to the place i'm in now.

Overall I had a great experience at Oxford in Etta. As far as treatment goes, you will get out of it what you put in. You cannot expect to get anything out of your treatment if you skip classes or complain about inconsequential things the whole time. You can really tell which staff care and who just see it as a job. Michael, Lisa, John, Hank, Jim, Brandon and Kirsten all went above and beyond as therapists and as moderators engaging the patients in their group sessions. The only negative about Brandon is that he thinks spaghetti is a side dish. Sorry Brandon, but it's a main dish! The majority of the nursing staff are also top notch. Leslie is an absolute rock star of a nurse! The TAs that really care are Paul, Stephanie, Dee, Ralph, Miranda and Brandon. These TAs always go above and beyond to ensure the happiness and safety of the patients. As far as transportation goes, I personally had experiences with Matthew and Heather. Both were phenomenal and managed their responsibilities impeccably. Matthew seems to know more and be more in control of the transportation than the director of transportation. I feel that he should have that position instead of whoever currently has it. Now the negative: I feel that most of the problems start at the top. There was a patient that tested positive for COVID and the staff was told not to say anything to the patients in order to not cause panic. This backfired because the news then got spread by rumors causing even more panic. There was a meeting the next day to address the COVID case where the director of nursing blatantly lied in front of and to the doctor, rolled her eyes and shook her head when patients voiced their concerns. It took a patient standing up and addressing the lies with facts for the doctor to realize that there is a lot that goes on that he is unaware of. The detox/quarantine patients were barely monitored and would regularly make their way across the lake or into the cafeteria where they were not supposed to be. Instead of handling this issue, the patients in residential were punished by having to stay on their side of the lake by 6pm and all vending machines were moved to detox/quarantine meaning there was no food or drink available for the residential patients after this time. The TAs were made aware of one patient having marijuana in their possession and selling it to other patients. This was handled and the person was given a warning. 2 days later different TAs,w were not named above, were made aware of the fact that the same person was in possession of other, more serious, drugs. The TA that was supposed to search this person's room went to the cabin, told the person that she was going to search the room, then walked out and commented to another patient that there was sh*t everywhere and it would take her all night to search. This TA, then went back and told the other TA on duty that the complaint did not come from a credible source. The TA really just didn't want to do her job because the information had come from multiple sources. The staff during the week is solid, but most of the staff on the weekends are lazy and clearly don't care about anything except doing the bare minimum to keep their job and collect a paycheck. Long story short, communication is a major issue, and just like any workplace, you have some stellar employees and some that need to move on to another job/career.

Was ok til I realized they was gonna just stop treatment after only 18 days because of insurance....felt like all they were worried about is money and didn't offer me a way to stay and get additional treatment, just sent me home, didn't even call the IOP like they had said they would to help set me up with that, save your money guys plenty if other facilities that actually help you get full treatment not just send you away after 18 days! Plenty of other places that actually want people to succeed in treatment

One of my family members spent three days there. (We later went to Pine Grove and had a flawless experience there and he is in recovery doing extremely well). My issue with OTC is I have been trying for 6 months to get a refund for the 41 days my child did not stay. The balance is close to $20,000. My last phone call with the CEO resulted in being told in order to get my refund back, I will need to sue the corporate office. I know employees and vendors are also not being paid. I would not recommend this facility at all. Beautiful when you drive in, but the administration is the most unprofessional I’ve ever dealt with. For the same cost, go to Pine Grove in Hattiesburg.

This place is beautiful on the outside, but they don't truly care about the patient's. This facility accepted my daughter, knowing her whole history. She was mentally ill and then when she acted out they simply discharged her and was going to drop her off at the Memphis airport. Save your generic email apologies. I don't want to be contacted.

I left the Oxford Treatment Center two days ago. I have rated my experience as five stars even though it was very challenging. I feel better than I have in a long time. My therapist (Kana) is an excellent counselor. She listens and truly does everything she can to help. She appreciates a sense of humor as well as a deluge of tears. The direct care coordinator (Barry) is a light in this world. His energy and enthusiasm are contagious. The food is delicious, thanks to Charles and the rest of the kitchen staff. I always appreciated Charles' warmth as a human being, also. From art therapy to equine therapy, the therapists are top notch. There will always be things to find fault with, but given some time, I think most would agree that this place is special. As I was walking out, one of the very special nurses named Lane gave me some words of encouragement that brought me to tears and Barry sent me with a list of women in NA in my city. These extra touches mean so much. Thank you to everyone for helping me get on the road to recovery.

Sent my boyfriend there . Didn’t help him one bit he was let out early and broke into my house after nobody knew he was back. Calling and checking on him was pointless you would get sent to VM and nobody would call you back even though you were on the release. Apparently this center wants $$$ and had no intention in helping him.

Family weekend was amazing. The staff was wonderful and the center is beautiful. But the most amazing part was the change in our daughter! It's scary when you send your loved one away for treatment because you don't know if you've chosen the right place. The Oxford Treatment Center was recommended by the therapist at the hospital. And I am so grateful that he recommended them and that our daughter chose to go. The family program that we attended was exactly what we needed to help understand addiction and how it affects the family as a whole. It was very intense as well as extremely emotional. it was exactly what we needed. Kelly Ferguson and the entire staff are amazing. I know that we still have a long road ahead of us. But for the first time in a very long time, I feel that, thanks to everyone at the center, our daughter has learned valuable skills to help overcome her addiction. I will always be grateful to everyone there for the compassion, care and intense therapy that has helped our beautiful daughter come so far.

My husband, Mike, loved his experience. He swears everyone in every department was very helpful and made his treatment work. The workers in the stables built his self confidence. The therapist, Kana, helped him discover things about himself he needed. Hank helped him change is view on life in general. They helped him physically, mentally and spiritually. He is happier than he has felt in many years. For this I am so grateful. They not only helped my husband, but also helped me understand everything that was going on during the process and were always so understanding when I called or emailed with concerns or questions. If anyone needs help, we both highly recommend Oxford treatment in Etta MS. Gratefully, Lisa Epps

It was a very nice, beautiful facility. The pictures don’t lie. The programming is very good as well. The reason for the 3 stars instead of 5 is.. there are not enough workers to watch over everyone. The first time I went there, a patient died because of lack of equipment. The ventilator was no where near where the patient was. On that entire facility, they only had one ventilator and it was too late by the time they got it to the girl. Also, if you are disabled in any way.. it is hard to get rides back and forth across the campus. It ends up taking so long to recieve transportation that you end up walking so you will not be late to group. The food is not the best, but it is edible.

I was a patient at this facility for 6 days and I really tried my hardest to find the good here. The first weird thing about American Addiction Assocation, who owns this facility, is that they contacted me saying that a facility that I had called earlier in the day did not accept my insurance, This man said that it was okay that he worked with this facility I had contacted earlier in the day and that even though they did not accept my insurance, he was here to help and could put me in oxford, the best facility around. The weird part of this is after I talked to him and he called me a dozen times trying to convince me to go is that the facility I had originally applied to called me and told me that they did accept my insurance and that this guy did not work for that facility. Now this should have been a huge red flag, and it was but I pushed it out of my mind because he had me sold on the Spas, the pool, the rockwall, and all these great things. I didnt even think at the time that my medical info had been given to someone without my knowledge at the time and that laws were broken, but hindsight is 20/20. I go to oxford which is advertised as a dual program that helps addiction/mental health. I was in detox for a day, I talked to a nurse practitioner that asked me general questions such as: are you suicidal, homicidal, etc.. Normal things to ask but nothing about getting me on new meds or if my old meds helped. The next day I talked to a therapist who also never asked me of old trauma or things I was dealing with. The meeting was very brief and didn't really feel like I was talking to a therapist, But I figured we would talk again as the man who convinced me to come told me that a therapist would speak to me 3 times a week. I started to do classes on resentment, trauma and other things. Things that actually taught me quite a bit and gave me things to think about and how to live my life in a healthier way. However the very first class I was in the counselor talked about how he was leaving the company and how he didn't agree with the things they were doing and how they operated . The next class I joined that counselor actually said something similar, and I didn't understand why, but I would later. Turns out they had no spa, they had no rock wall, and I packed a swimming suit for nothing, but I was learning how to live a healthier life in classes so that didn't matter to me, but as the days passed I kept wondering why I wasn't getting therapy and getting on some meds to try and fix the root cause of my substance abuse. So i asked a nurse about this concern and it turns out those first two meetings were supposed to determine meds and be for mental help, so I asked to speak to the nurse again because IO was determined to work on myself but she was out till Monday and I would have to wait 2 days. The next day 2 patients Over dosed on fentanyl and one had to be revived at the hospital. That was big news around campus in all the patients and we all figured we would have a meeting about this. Nothing was ever said to anyone, most counselors and therapists didn't know and it just seemed like they were going to try and cover it up and ignore it. Monday came and the nurse never came to see me about meds, I talked to my therapist and even when I was volunteering my past he didn't try and talk to me about it. He would put me on whatever meds I asked for but generally was not helpful and I didn't want to just ask for meds, I wanted to try and get a diagnosis but that never happened. I decided to leave after basically begging for mental health therapy and even when I was leaving the case manger lady, Amy, falsified my documents by lying about why I was leaving. She put on my paper I was just looking for a medicine connect, literally.I told her I had felt left behind and was not getting the help that I came for. Luckily I recorded the conversation and am speaking to lawyers. This is just a money churn for this company do not go to it.

Oxford was a great place for me to begin recovery from not only my physical dependency on alcohol but my emotional troubles as well. The staff were amazing people, very professional but also relatable people who take pride in what they do, even though I'm sure they are not the easiest jobs to have. The facility itself was beautiful and open, an honest to god breath of fresh air for me. Working with the horses was so therapeutic for me and i miss them so much every day!! Especially Lola. But not only is the facility and faculty great, but the people we met as our peers while staying at OTC were some of the greatest people I'll ever meet in my life. So much beauty comes out of this place and although i am still not "perfect," I am so much better off than I was, and i will be forever grateful for the time I had there because it's truly changed my life for the best. I would recommend this facility to anyone struggling with substance abuse or emotional trauma, and I have many times over. Thank you to everyone at Oxford for helping me get past some of my darkest days and for teaching me how to handle my future. You have all taken part in changing and saving my life. It will be a part of who I am forever.

I have called the director of nursing Tammy after a staff nurse made a medication error with my daughters medications, I have left 4 messages over the course of a week. I have not received a call back which is discouraging and concerns me that Tammy does not feel this is important. Please review your loved ones plan of care and medication orders through their treatment there. I also had to request a teaching of my daughters medications be given to her so she knows what she is taking and why she is taking it.

Great place to get sober and some great staff/support. However, would never want someone to deal with them overall. Refusal to fill my rescue inhaler for over 2 weeks. Took advantage of my mental state in the early stages when was not aware of much. Did not complete my stay due to insurance and now Oxford is taking money out of my account without my consent.

As a licensed clinician for the last 28 years this is not somewhere you want to put your child. The intake coordinator was great but other than that it was expensive babysitting with no therapeutic value. The therapist my son had was inexperienced with poor boundaries. He was not truthful at times and handled the discharge poorly. Mental health issues that they were made aware of were not treated or even acknowledge even when given a comprensive history. The case manager in charge of discharge has no business working with the public. She was rude and unprofessional. They are not use to be questioned or having educated family members in the mix. They are use to dealing with people in crisis who are too traumatized by their loved one's addiction to notice the poor care and lack of treatment. I would not recommend this facility under any circumstances.
