Previouse experiences have been good of this place / although tonights experience i felt was a let down. no more beer on draught !!! more of a money spinner for the restaurant so i can't really complain to much . food i found below par , not what you would expect when paying for a lobster salad. service was absolute s..t !! staff seemed over busy but given the place was half empty i wonder why ?? Melrose i will give the benefit of the doubt and may possibly come back as you are local .... but overall expeirience tonight ?? Not Good At All.... Wake up

Nice location. Right across the beach. Some staff are nice while some are rude.
Food is Ok too. Nice fish and shellfish. Ok for the price.
Main reason I gave one star is we got food poisoning probably from the mussels. The person who didn’t eat mussels didn’t get sick.

The fish was so thin, no firm and somehow slimy. Didn't smell fresh at all. Chips were very starchy, not possible to swallow them without a drink. Disappointed .

Lovely good. Average priced. Busy but not over crowded. A great service from the staff and they were very accommodating with our two kids. Definate recommend and we will definitely go back.

I would drop a lower rating if I could. We tried to get into the restaurant on a clearly not busy period and we were turned back very rudely. Reason is that they only accept advance bookings via phone call. I would recommend you book a few weeks in advance before visiting.

Fish was delicious, I got the fried haddock and my partner got the grilled sea bass. I would recommend the sea bass, it was cooked to perfection.
House white wasn’t great and it’s the only wine you can get by the glass unfortunately.

Voted best fish and chips in Brighton. Staff rude, fish tasteless and chips over fried. The other seafood looked nice but certainly not the best fish and chips in town! £8.50 plus obligatory service charge a total rip off.

Fish was brilliant and beautiful but the chips were frozen packed and didn't taste like fresh chips. Chips alone disappointed the meal. The chips tasted like pub grub not like a fish and chip shop but lovely food.

Very cold night so not many about but
were shown a warm welcome, starters of scallops excellent then main meal of steak for myself and calves liver for husband. Both excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Good no frills seafood menu,also a reasonable selection of other food available. Specials board emphasis on fish. Drink selection fair but not extensive. Price wise,moderate to slightly expensive.Comfortable indoor and outdoor seating.Would recommend.

Right on seafront on busy coast road. Opposite i360. Nice food. Staff not really friendly but did their job. Not good for disabled. Toilet down flight of stairs and no disabled toilet. Also 2 steep steps to 2nd seating area. There is level area with few tables plus some outside seating

Beautiful August lunchtime, just booked a later ticket on the brand new BA I 360 (doughnut on a 450 foot stick....great experience) and needed lunch. Most reviews are spot on, much more reasonably priced than would be expected, good portions and simply cooked.. Good service, great value, thoroughly recommended....do the ride too!
