Stumbled accross this place on a walk by the seafront. How did I not know about this place living in Brighton for 5 years?! We ate hot kipper and mackerel rolls with a view of the sea. Absolutely delicious!

When people ask me what I would not miss in Brighton, I will say the Brighton Smokehouse. "Authentic" does not begin to describe this place. Located in the brick spaces right next to the Fishing Museum along the waterfront, Jack and Linda (the owners) are frankly more modest than they should be. They have a smoked kipper sandwich that is absolutely phenomenal. Linda's comment was "we haven't changed it in 22 years." Why would they? It is heaven. Enjoy it while (inside) and looking at the photos of them 20 years ago christening their boat, catching the fish, and smoking it themselves.
