Website easy to use. Staff keep you informed of order. I wax particularly looking for goats meat products. Burgers and mince are very good not so keen on the goat bacon but that’s personal preference rather than a criticism. I’ve not used the diced meat yet but my so. Made a curry which he said was excellent. On collection staff are very helpful. I will definitely be back.

I was really impressed by both the quality of the meat that I received and also the friendliness, helpfulness and prompt response of their customer service. I had ordered lamb leg but diced on the bone and their staff went out of their way to make sure my order was done exactly the way I wanted even though this is not something that was on their web page. I had tried other businesses too but they didn't do this. I highly recommed Chestnut meats.

We got some goat meat shipped from Chestnut Meats. The packaging was fabulous and individual packs were freezer ready. The shipping charge was a tad to high, but I don’t think that can be avoided. Quality of meat was excellent. It’s succulent, melt in mouth and really flavourful. Cooks easily. We made a traditional Bengali goat curry with the meat and turned out great. To be honest, I had tried goat meat from other sources before, but this is the best one I have seen in this part of the world, perhaps the best outside Indian subcontinent.

Amazing service and great fresh cuts of goat meat. We would normally collect from the farm shop as a general rule but due to Covid restrictions we got the meat delivered. All food was freshly packed and delivered in a cool pack. I would highly recommend Chestnut Meats.

A friend and I ordered jointly and went half on the shipping costs. We ordered five kilos (1Kg bags).
I was very excited to be introduced to the site where fresh goat meat (not mutton) ???? could be ordered.
Unfortunately there was more bone than meat, quite large bones. My friend also commented on a lot of bone...
This was a shame as I made traditional curry goat but the dish was spoilt by the presence of large
bones which dominated the dish. The meat content was minimal...

Ordered 3 Kilo's of diced goat meat which arrived bang on time very well packaged. Two packs I froze, and the third I made a stew. The meat looked good, very lean and in good sized chunks. On cooking, the meat was so tender, tasty and preferable, in my opinion, to beef or lamb. I look forward to using it in other recipes. I will buy again.

Ordered a goat as we had planned a big family Christmas gathering in Scotland, however the COVID Pandemic happened. We decided not to cancel our order with Chestnut Meats in case restrictions changed. Anyway Chestnut delivered the goat meat sliced and packed in 1kg bags. The meat was still nearly frozen which is due to their ice block high standard packaging. The meat was fresh, tasty and tender. When I rang to request that one shoulder be unsliced, they were polite and pleasant and agreed to deliver as requested. Their service is good, the meat is fresh, tasty and tender - What's Not To Like!!! Will certainly recommend .

This was my first order with Chestnut Meats and I was impressed both with their website, which was well laid out and easy to use, plus their excellent packaging and efficient delivery. Their choice of frozen and fresh meats, game and poultry (and much more) is really interesting.
I ordered various meats including kid meat - they all arrived as notified by email, well packaged in protective ice pack packing. The cost of postage is very competitive.
We have already used the frozen pork steaks (succulent and good sized) and the fresh on-the-bone kid meat, which was cooked in the slow cooker and was delicate, delicious and an excellent, healthy alternative to lamb. I am glad that I have finally taken the plunge to try kid meat.
I would heartily recommend Chestnut Meats and will be ordering again in the very near future.

Excellent choice of the more unusual cuts of meat. I originally thought the price was ok but after cooking the goat, I have to say the price is fab considering the quality. I slow cooked goat on the bone and it was gloriously tender and full of flavour, unlike goat meat I've bought from local shops previously. Communication for delivery was great, kept me informed from start to finish. Excellent customer service, top quality meats and fast delivery, what more could you want? Chestnut Meats will be my go to place from now on, can't wait to try the Oxtail ????

A bit astonished that fresh, not frozen meat would be couriered! Most of the only frozen part, the pet mince was defrosted due to inadequate packaging. I’ve salvaged kidneys, heart and liver. Goat trimmings were predominantly fat and I salvaged, with difficulty and a very sharp knife, around 500g. Necks seem ok and I have refrozen. Not overwhelmed to be honest. £64 was totally overpriced.

Meat is amazingly tasty. We all enjoyed it. Both kids goat and the adult ones. However what we ordered were 5 one kg bags most bags were 50-100 g lesser and even the person who promised a refund of 3kg volume discount -
*We lost almost 300g in 5 packs ( for which we had paid online) and moreover the volume discount promised while talking to them wasn't honoured.*
I will talk to them before my next order, hope they will take due care of these.

Below is the previous review and I said I would do an update once the meat has arrived. I was wonderfully surprised. The quality of the goat was one of the best I've come across. Goat can be a problem with bones, but not here. The hog roast sausages tasted as great as they smelled and will become a regular order. Not tried the lamb or hearts, but quality looks good. Will definitely become a regular......
I am being asked to review Chestnut Meats before I've even got the order. Also I been in several conversations on the order because it has taken rather a while to be delivered. It was supposed to come today 29/7/2020, but received an email last night saying delayed until 30/7/2020. No real problem, at least they contacted me. I am hoping for quality and once I do receive the items I will do another review

I was looking for goat meat which was not available with my local butcher shop. Hence tried ordering online from chestnut meats. The meat safely reached without any Hassel in nicely food grade frozen box . The quality of meat is good. The only minor negative is, I found it bit expensive as I get around £9-£11 per Kilo of meat in local shop. But since I eat occasionally hence it was okay for me. ????
