Great shop with a good supply of cycles, parts and clothing and very knowledgeable, friendly staff, well worth a visit if only to browse.

Not friendly at all. Almost treated like sh** by the beardy man: I know it's Covid time but just close your shop if you dont want anybody in. Glad you were unfriendly after all, went to another one and won't come back.

Had an excellent experience with a bike fit today. Steve was knowledgeable and friendly. My first impression (after only one short ride) is that this is the best bike money I've spent.

I recently had a great experience at this shop. I had a puncture and arrived about 15 minutes after they closed, but the guy working kindly opened up to give me a new inner tube and let me borrow the tools needed to fix my bike there and then. I had a long way to go, so was very grateful. I have used this shop before and I've always been impressed with the friendly service, highly recommended!

I’m travelling from Vancouver and was having issues with my rear mech. I stopped in and within 2 minutes they had it on the stand and completely re-index my gears and fixed my chain. Tremendous service and a beautiful shop as well. Thanks!!!

Couldn’t recommend them more highly! Really friendly staff and the guys in the workshop worked really hard to track down and fix a creak in the bb of my gazelle which turned out to be a damaged crank. They did the work really quickly and gave me an awesome deal on price saving me a load of money. Thanks again, would give more stars if there were any!

I dropped of my bike for basic service and also gave them a bike rack to attach (bought somewhere else). Returned to collect and seemed all they had done was attach bike rack and no new brake pads which definitely needed replacing! They agreed to do break pads and I returned hr later and asked what owed them and discovered they had tried to charge me for the bike rack which I had bought somewhere else!! Anyway I won’t be using them again as don’t believe they did basic service!! They must be racking it in at the moment during covid 19!!

Overall helpful staff and good shop, but overpriced and incompetent repair services/mechanics. Went to get my brakes fixed as they were not braking with any strength, spent £50 on a brake bleed and £15 on new pads to no avail. It was then suggested I buy new brakes (these ones having been used for a WHOPPING 2 years). I asked for a warranty return of the brakes to SRAM (who were actually very helpful) which would cost me another £20 just in administration fees. This has been going on for over 2 months now. The shop first forgot to tell me they needed a document and waited for me to call them 2 weeks later to tell me nothing had happened to the bike. It then took another 2 weeks for them to contact me saying that the mechanic who was incharge of my repair has quit and only now will it be resumed by another staff member. All the while I have a nearly £100 bill sitting for me at the end of the experience. I would NOT recommend their repair services to ANYONE. you will have more success doing it wrong yourself.

Great service! I bought my Argon18 E119 from Velosport. The team invested so much of their time on repeated fits and tuning to make sure I had the right bike and get me perfect set-up, which was very different to where I was before. Loving the bike! Great service and value

Steve and the Velosport team made us feel very welcome in their store, ensuring the Putney Pusher ladies thoroughly enjoyed the cycle maintenance session with Gustavo the other Wednesday. Gustavo was super thorough and explained everything really well. We learnt heaps: pre-ride check, all the tricks on inner tube changing and tweaking gears. We all walked out with lovely smooth running bikes. Already put the knowledge to good use as first puncture today!

I went to Velosport to have a proper bike fit after having a very basic one done during the cycle week a month or so ago. I have to say the changes that were made to my riding position were quite a large amount (for example my saddle raised 30mm), from the basic fit. The big difference was getting shims added to my shoes, this has stopped my foot dropping so now my knee stays in the correct position and i am not losing power during the pedal stroke. Excellent facilities and if you are planning on partaking in a long bike ride or extra training, then i would advise getting a fit, as it makes a lot of difference.

After an on-ride part failure I dropped in to this store and they were great. Gave me the part for free and provided me with the tools to fix it. Support stores like this that support riders. I’d have paid over the odds to keep going on my ride - instead I’ll have to recommend as many people as I can to use this store. Cheers guys!

Steve has done a great job sorting out my bike fit. He's thorough in his initial assessment, be that questions on history as well as assessing limiters and other issues. The RETÜL system works well, and provides a nice objective measure of progress during the fit. In my particular case we spent about 90mins on the initial session, and then had another 60min session tuning. This was all in the price of the fit. We might do another session in a few weeks to further dial things in. So far so good.

Went in for a new inner tube and picked up a few other bits, all cheap and the staff pretty much taught how me how to change the tube and helped out without asking for any extra payment. It was really appreciated!

Friendly, professional service. As someone a tad clueless about bikes, I felt I could totally trust their judgement about the level of service my bike required and didn’t feel like I was being ‘screwed over’ for my lack of basic knowledge! Definitely recommend and I’ll be back. Hoping to attend a workshop or community ride at some point soon!

Been going here for quite some time, Bought a brand new power meter which is stunningly good!! Staff are very knowledgeable and a good bunch to talk to, they are all cyclists which really helps. If anyone locally to here was looking for a bike shop I really would recommend it. I travel 20 miles across london just to use them!! Can't go wrong!

Great shop and very friendly staff. Snapped my Campagnolo chain on the way back from Richmond. Walked to Velosport. As mechanic was not working on that day, guys allowed me to use their chain tool and a bike stand to fix the broken chain. This saved me from walking in my road shoes to/from the tube station. Much appreciated.

After several months of procrastination on whether to get a bike fit done, I eventually bit the bullet and went for it. I looked at several places in terms of where to get it done, but Velosport showed way more interest than others so this decision was easy. I had been over and over whether it would be worth spending the money, but in relation to all the money ive spent on cycling over the years, this has been hands down the best money ive ever spent. Its easy to go into it feeling like it might not be worth it, but believe me the change i have seen in my performance, comfort, efficiency on the bike, among many other things has been astounding. The whole process takes between 2-3 hours, and was way more thorough than i had originally anticipated. The first part is a physical assessment checking flexibility. Then its on to the main fit. This done using a multitude of equipment, all based around your own bike which is set up on a turbo trainer. An initial video/photos are taken to show your current riding position, and then from there the system gives ongoing feedback which is used to make all the adjustments necessary to get to the perfect setup. Once the recommendations are ascertained, it maybe necessary, as it was in my case, to make some component changes to the bike. Velosport once again were incredibly helpful in helping me chose the parts i needed. I needed a new saddle which was essential to get the right riding position, and also some new carbon bars which were not essential but did allow me to get the best from the setup. Seeing the before and after photos/videos is mind blowing, and amazing that I rode for so long in the old position. In all areas Steve (who did my fit) was great in helping me make decisions and getting my bike to the optimum setup. If the question you want answering is 'is a bike fit worth the money', 100% it is, and Velosport are definitely the guys to go and see!

I have frequently used VeloSport in the past for bike servicing etc, recently bought my new bike from them, and managed to experience the full service from 'Bike Fit' to 'Bike Selection' etc. Without question, the best bike shop in South West London! Extremely professional, friendly, and helpful staff at a competitive price, bearing in mind that it is a 'high-end' shop. I definitely recommend a visit!

As someone completely new to cycling and aiming to participate in various competitive things for general fitness and motivation (I'm not too keen on either running or cycling), I was having any old frame size chucked at me by the various well-meaning bike shops that I went to see. As it became clear that my purchase would in fact be an investment, I visited Velosport for a bike sizing in November 15 and it was essential for giving me an objective view on which bikes and geometries would suit my frame. I walked away confident in the geometry sizing for me and re-buffed any efforts by well-meaning friendly bike shops (aren't they all?) to see me their available stock. Fast forward to August 16 and I finally have one of the recommended bikes, for the right price, and will be going for a proper bike fit with Velosport, so that it is set up correctly from the get go. As a bonus, the money that I paid for the bike sizing can be discounted against the cost. Considering how much money the bike sizing saved me in preventing me from purchasing the wrong frame size, not to mention the subsequent physical niggles that would also arise from this, it represents astounding value. Needless to say, my experience of straight talking professionalism leaves me with no hesitation to recommend Velosport to anyone looking for a similar 'beginner's' experience to myself.

Can't say anything about bikes or service (though sure they're excellent) but out on a ride this morning one of my cranks worked badly loose, dropped in and the mechanic very kindly let me borrow a socket to tighten it - having stupidly come out without money or Oyster saved me a fifteen mile walk home. Thanks guys, very much appreciated!

I recently went to Velosport in Putney to get myself a bike fit. They use the Retul system, and Steve the fitting technician was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and easy to chat with, taking time to understand my riding style, my problem areas, and what I was hoping to achieve with the fit. Having ridden many 1000’s of km's without a fit, I was quite sceptical about the difference a bike fit would make, but it has easily been one of the best investments I have made with the bike. I went from being unable to ride 60-70km without some form of knee discomfort/pain, to riding completely pain free and comfortable over 200km in a day. Steve made a plethora of adjustments on my bike, cleats, and shoes, and included a follow up session a few weeks later to make further adjustments once I had settled into the initial fit. In short, I cannot recommend this service highly enough!

Friendly & knowledgeable service. Had a chainring replaced and nice to see my front brake had also been tightened up free of charge when I picked it up, significantly better service than their local neighbours at Putney Cycles.

Took my Focus Cayo to have new wheels (i supplied) fitted and have a service too. Jack, the mechanic was unbelievably helpful, and e mailed me immediately after checking the bike over to tell me what needed replacing. They advised a new chain and cassette as they were old and wearing, and a few other bits and pieces. I picked up the bike and it looked brand new, and it rides like a dream. I went to Velosport on a recommendation from a friend who is quite a prolific racer, so he knows a lot about bikes, well...way more than I do. I believe I paid a sensible price for a first rate service on the bike, parts and labour, and I will definitely be taking my Focus there for regular servicing. It really is worth the money to look after your bike properly. I really like the shop and the people who work there too, although I want Jack to service my bike again :-) I can't recommend Velosport highly enough

This year I started riding longer distances and spending more hours on the saddle, however, I was not comfortable at all over longer distances or when riding for more than 3 hours. I therefore decided to take my bike for a Retul 3D Fit @ Velosport Putney. I would say that this is the best money you will ever spend if you are taking cycling a bit more seriously and are not very comfortable on the bike over distance. My fit was done with Bruce Baird, he is very knowledgable and understood clearly the problems I was having with the bike and focused on those. My riding since the fit has been very good, I can now ride for 80 miles without stopping or any major aches. So in summary, I thoroughly recommend the services at Velosport Putney and a bike fir from someone like Bruce that know what they are doing !

Both my housemate and I went to Velo Sport to receive the ‘basic fit’ on our bikes, and have unfortunately left feeling disappointed. For £60, you receive: Cleat fitting, Feet assessment, Setting up saddle height and knee position using goniometer, Check back angle and reach using goniometer and spirit level and some pretty average recommendations going forward regarding posture, stretching and pedalling technique. It lasts 20 minutes and you leave £60 lighter and the only adjustment made is to your cleats and your saddle height - it’s a rip off. However, this isn’t the issue. The price of the additional shoe inserts and wedges or the option to have them included isn’t mentioned until your previous ones are binned and you’re at the til with the price now at £92! For inserts! Along with this, your decision to have the basic bike fit is constantly queried. With the technician perpetually suggesting that the advanced fit would be more suitable, which is double the price. Overall the tone of the fitting is pretty miserable, the technician seems as if he wants you in and out as quickly as possible. I would suggest looking elsewhere for this service.
