I have had the great pleasure of working with and referring to, Dr Mike McPhillips. I consider him to be a Consultant Psychiatrist at the very top of his field. His professionalism, knowledge and support of often complex and challenging client presentations, is second to none. I admire and appreciate his willingness to go the extra mile for his clients and for the professionals supporting them, and he remains a reassuring consistent in the field of addiction - a field where support and consistency are such key ingredients of effective safeguarding and containment. To have his overarching duty of care and support is invaluable. I cannot recommend his services highly enough.

Mike McPhillips is a first rate doctor and psychiatrist with a gentle, non-judgemental holistic approach to his patients. I was apprehensive when I was referred but found him to be a good listener and empathetic. He is uptodate which combined with his experience and expertise makes for an extremely effective aid to resolving most issues. I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending him.

I have referred patients to Dr McPhillips for a number of years from my private practice. Some of these patients have needed a complex and multi-tiered approach to their presenting issues. All of these patients have been treated with the utmost of care, clinical expertise and insight of an exceptional doctor in his field. I receive excellent feedback from patients, stating that Dr McPhillips has understood their issues immediately and has suggested nuanced treatment plans which have helped them to get better very quickly. The results I have seen as a result of his interventions have been outstanding.

This man is a crook, a money oriented individual without any interest in his patients. His only motivation is money which drives every conversion and relationship with his clients.
I would not recommend him to anyone, not even my enemies.
One of the most unprofessional experiences I had was he discussed the problems of other clients that I knew. This guy is a knackered individual that needs to have his own councilling before he tries to dish it out to others.

He has always treated me with kindness and compassion and has changed my life . Suffering from Anxiety and depression could have been a major blight on my life but with Dr Mcphillips intervention and expertise I can get on with my life very successfully . He advocates for his patients and shows a tremendous amount of care and respect .Very Professional and I would recommend both Dr Mcphillips and his support staff at the Sloane square Clinic a great team.

I have known Dr McPhillips for a while and he is an excellent clinician, known in his field for being conscientious, patient focused and relatable. His approach is to listen, provide advice and support the patient throughout their issues, with an excellent network of clinicians working with him to provide the best outcome for the patient. I never normally write reviews ... life is too busy with work and family. But i feel compelled to write this review to help prevent others from wasting their time and money in the same way I did. I found Dr McPhillips to not listen well and to not be empathetic at all. But most importantly, I would say his patient care and follow up is extremely poor ... my strong advise is save your time and money and please go elsewhere.

I first saw Dr McPhillips in 2010. Although the previous doctor I had seen had been very good, I found Dr McPhillips very helpful and practical from my first appointment with him. He is an intelligent and knowledgeable doctor, who is very good at explaining medical matters to lay people.
I also had faith in his experience and understanding of mental health problems from the outset, and he has always provided me with accurate and beneficial medical advice.
I have had appointments with Dr McPhillips over the course of nearly ten years, and have always felt that he is genuinely interested in me as a person and that he cares about my health and well being as a person and not just as his patient.
Although choosing a doctor is a personal choice, I would definitely recommend him.

I met Mike about 10 years ago. Always kind and professional. I had no doubt that he knows his stuff. He's a very intelligent man. He listened and gave me medication which has really helped to maintain my stability. I am grateful for that. I suspect some may not hear what they want but I suspect we always hear what we need to. He's your psychiatrist not your friend. That's a good boundary to have.

I would definitely recommend Dr Mike. He has helped me and my family through major crises which could have ended in disaster without his help.
I feel saddened to read some of the negative reviews as I believe strongly that a GOOD psychiatrist has to tell us what we NEED to know which is more than likely, not what we might WANT to know.
"It will often need to HURT before it can HEAL" - this is one of the tests of a good psychiatrist.

Don't usually review folks on Google but I am a mother and I am going with 'inappropriate' for teenagers or children as caution to other moms. Our experience was directly somewhat aggressive and indirectly, due to confusion with reference that was potentially no more than a clerical error and just should have been left to play out, quite inappropriate. I have experience with mental health professionals. Hard pass.

Mike is (or can be) incredibly honest in both his expression and approach. He’s outstandingly perceptive, and genuinly caring in his own way. The diagnosis from him was life changing. As a highly critical individual, I don’t think he has failed any of his descriptions on his website.

It’s funny how people forget doctors are humans too, and they don’t have the duty to say what you want to hear and give you your expected reactions.
You don’t need to have a functioning brain to see Mike, but you need to at least have one????♀️.

Disgusting approach from a medical practioner working for the affluent and esteemed children in Sloane Square. No interest in patients well-being, takes the prescribing 'drug'n'run' attitude without taking any care or due diligence in to the personal singular and sometimes combinational issues of an idividual - ultiately lack of compassion, empathy and understanding towards patients. Having referred received adivce, from Mike, to fellow practioners, they were a bit a myffed to say the least.

Dr McPhillips may be good in his speciality of addiction but he is clueless otherwise. He has no idea of the gurus of trauma such Bessel Van Der Kolk or Pete Walker and very little about about CPTSD. Don't waste your money on him. He didn't even know about the Metoo campaign which is all over the press. Alos the whole thing with the Causeway hospital which he worked at and promoted, which was unlicensed....egomaniac and narrow=minded.
