I could not see a therapist for 9 years after being deeply hurt by this doctor. I had 2 sessions after a serious mental break down and suicide attempt and he cancelled my sessions as I left the second session without any explanation as to why. I felt even more worthless than before I started. If i’d seen someone with any empathy I would possibly have had some hope of getting better 8 or 9 years earlier.

Reading Tytler's post, I was quite taken aback. 3 things struck me: Dr Collins retired between one and two years ago. Your comment was posted 2 months ago. An incongruent wait by any measure. Tytler's 12 other reviews are almost all in the same vein. Mainly 1 star ratings and many particularly vitriolic and aggressive in their tone. Finally, I know of 3 people who have received Dr Collins's help all of whom had between very and extremely positive experiences. The last, as the patient was in penury at the time, Dr Collins gave of his time completely Pro Bono. I can only wonder if they are referring to the same Psychiatrist? To be crystal clear Dr.Collins has absolutely no idea I am posting this review nor did he ever let me know it ever existed. In the interests of a justified diametrically opposed set of experiences and freedom of expression I put forward this comment. Ultimately I wish hand on heart that Tytler is in a better place than before.

Helped me more than I thought possible for a psychiatrist to accomplish. He took me from a completely despairing person to one who now awakes each day eager to meet whatever it brings. Treated my PTSD successfully with EMDR and traditional talking therapy. I owe my life to this man. He is amazing.

Didn't know what you were talking about and lacked empathy and congruence.
