Approaching 70, I decided to get a neck lift and eyelid surgery, and having explored several non surgical options decided that surgery was the answer. I opted for Julian de Silva because of his experience, training record and excellent results. I was a little nervous but needn't have been. The anesthetist was excellent and was very professional, and have me confidence that I was in safe hands. The operation took about 8 hours overall, and yes, I had bruising and swelling when I woke up, but no pain. After a few weeks the bruising and swelling has subsided and I have discovered a new younger looking me in the mirror! No more ' Turkey neck, hooded eyelids or bags under my eyes for me! All I can say is, if I had to do this all again, I wouldn't hesitate.

I had upper and lower blepharoplasty on both eyes in February this year and I am so pleased with the results. I should have had it done a couple of years ago. I was really impressed with Dr De Silva's care and attention to detail. He was ready to answer all my questions and gave me all the time I needed to make sure that I understood what the operation and after care involved. I have had a number of surgical procedures in the past, and I have to say this procedure was the least stressful of them all. I felt no ill effects from the anaesthetic whatsoever, and was on my way home within 20 minutes of the end of the operation, with no pain whatsoever. I followed Dr De Silva's instructions to the letter, and now three months after the operation it is really difficult to see that I have had anything done to my eyes - apart from the fact that they look so much better and I no longer look tired all the time. I did have some initial concerns about swelling and consulted Dr De Silva by email on a Sunday afternoon. He responded to my email the same day and shortly after prescribed some medication to reduce the swelling which disappeared very rapidly. All in all a very stress free experience. I would thoroughly recommend Dr De Silva to anyone who is considering facial cosmetic surgery.

Having Septorhinoplasty with Dr De Silva has changed my life. I had thought about having surgery for about 10 years from the age of 14 however I seriously started looking at the age of 20 and booked surgery at 24 years old. I had a lip reduction procedure done by Julian and really happy with the results. Pre operation i was impressed by his experience, clean facilities and friendliness of the team which gave me confidence of a good result. The information about what to expect after the procedure was spot on and felt I had good opportunity to ask any questions/concerns with no pressure. I had blepharoplasty late last year. I was very annoyed. Annoyed that I did not have this procedure done many years ago!!!! Being a workaholic I never felt I could afford the time for the recovery from my busy schedule only to find that I could have been back to work within two weeks. I was simply amazed by the recovery period and even more surprised that there was so little bruising, particularly that in normal circumstances I bruise so easily. The whole process was absolutely remarkable. I was extremely nervous before the procedure but the anaesthetist and Doctor De Silva put my mind completely at ease (well, almost!). I should not have worried at all. I was absolutely delighted with the results and many friends who have seen me since have commented how well I look. It was all down to Dr De Silva and his team for their excellent work and care.

I had Rhinoplasty with Dr De Silva in June this year. My experience couldn't have been better. All the staff from the receptionist, to the nurses and obviously Julian himself were beyond helpful and extremely easy to talk too and comforting. I felt at ease throughout the whole procedure and very reassured. I don't remember the operation itself as the sedation obviously worked! When I arrived home I was a bit sleepy but not in any pain and in fact I didn't need to take any pain killers. The only discomfort was sleeping with my head elevated. I recovered very quickly and any light bruising was vanished within a week. I have to say I think that some of that is down to how Julian does the operation with professionalism and care. I wouldn't hesitate to visit Julian again if I wanted another operation and cannot recommend him enough. Thank you to Dr De Silva and all his wonderful staff :)

I had rhinoplasty with Dr we Silvia and had a few complications after, the most recent one I was expected to pay for, for him to cut part of the nostril was a mistake during the actual procedure. This was so simple it can be done under local A and in his clinic however he wanted a further £900 to correct his mistake after I already paid £7500 for my rhinoplasty. Upon being upset about the price I was told very rudely by his assistant Jennifer that £7500 is not a lot of money for rhinoplasty. I have searched everywhere and I know for facts it is especially when I could have gone abroad and they likely would have done a better job or corrected it for free, even in Turkey if you have an issue with their surgery they will do you again for free. Now I have to pay a further £3000 to a surgeon abroad to correct this it's making me depressed but all these people care about his money and once they have yours you're on your own. Biggest regret is my rhinoplasty and I have had surgery in Dominican republic! ******REPLY - you dont even know who I am to be commenting on my nose and what you allegedly did and yes you did ask for fees

I am now 10 weeks post-op for upper blepharoplasty. I am extremely pleased with the results. I have minimal scarring now and only have slight swelling still between incision line and eyebrow but realise that absolute healing can take up to 6 - 12 months. In my opinion Dr Julian de Silva is a true artist and everything I researched and read up about him has proved to be absolutely true. I did my research, I followed his instructions to the letter pre and post op - and you have to adhere to the prescribed regime to optimise your results. I did bruise and swell up quite spectacularly. My vision was a little blurred for 2-3 days and I certainly experienced discomfort during this period but absolutely no pain whatsoever. I had no complications. The clinic is beautifully appointed and the staff are all delightful and very good at answering any questions and/or concerns. I elected to have my op done by 'twilight' anaesthesia and although extremely nervous about this procedure just prior to my operation all my concerns and slight fear were for nothing. Absolutely everything went as it had been explained to me beforehand. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Dr de Silva with utmost confidence. I am 100% happy with both my experience and the results.

Being a man I was nervous that the effect would look too drastic but I have nothing but positive comments about my experience from start to finish. I had a lower blepharoplasty, laser resurfacing and canthoplasty (eye bags) in November 2015. The biggest concern is how safe are you in the hands of a cosmetic surgeon. I had an upper blepharoplasty 2 months ago. Despite having severe anxiety and taking many years to go ahead with this treatment, I really wish I had done this earlier instead of wasted time being worried about going ahead with it. Watching the amazing informative youtube videos made my Dr De silva and his patients is what made me feel at ease to go ahead with the process. The surgery made an instant positive impact on my life. Noone noticed that I had anything done but people always comment that my makeup looks nice. For years my hooded eyes would cover my eyelids so my makeup wasnt visible. The sedation process was amazing, i dont remember anything but it felt like I'd had the best sleep ever and woke up feeling so happy and calm. In terms of pain i can genuinely say that i experienced zero pain. My eyes were swollen and this felt a bit uncomfortable for the first 2 nights but otherwise i would 100% repeat the process. The whole team were helpful and friendly, calling me for a few days post operatively to see how I was doing. They were happy to respond to any questions as soon as possible via email or telephone. Three months ago I underwent septorhinoplasty with Dr De Silva. The whole experience was excellent. Before the operation he was thoroughly reassuring, explaining each step in plenty of detail and carefully answering my various questions. The operation went exactly as planned: I wasn't aware of anything and certainly don't think I experienced any pain; it all took a couple of hours and I was back home straight afterwards. Dr De Silva is a persuasive advocate for the use of sedation rather than general anaesthesia where possible, and based on my experience I can see why he favours it. In the days that followed my nose felt numb and tender, but again I wasn't in any pain. The operation was on a Tuesday, so I took the rest of the week off, worked from home the following week, got my cast off (also very straightforward) and was back in the office after that. The recovery process has been surprisingly easy, and the initial swelling was almost all gone after a few weeks. The result by now is a distinct improvement, at least as much as I'd hoped for, and I would highly recommend Dr De Silva to anyone considering a similar operation.

I was a little apprehensive as I needed revision Rhinoplasty, which I had read was a lot more challenging than first time Rhinoplasty for Surgeons. Dr De Silva had a very high rating as one of the best surgeons for my situation and that was the reason I decided to have a consultation with him. Dr De Silva really listened and paid great attention to my concerns and what I wanted. He was extremely thorough examining me, and then was able to give me a detailed analysis of what I could expect explaining it in terms I could easily understand. I am extremely happy with the result (now three months post op) of my revision Rhinoplasty. He did advise it was a challenging operation and took several hours to complete the surgery, and it is obvious he was meticulous in attaining the best result possible for me, as i am extremely happy with the result. Not only is Dr De Silva a highly skilled Surgeon, but is an extremely lovely and down to earth gentleman who was always happy to answer and explain any questions I had. I am so happy I chose Dr De silva to do my Rhinoplasty and highly recommend anyone considering surgery to book an appointment to see for yourself.

Besides his excellent beside manner and his great staff, other things that made the entire experience fantastic was that I was given a big booklet with all these printouts as to exactly what to do before and after the surgery, what medications to take, what exercises I could do - any query you had, the information provided answered it. I was particularly impressed by Dr De Silva's app which provides further detail along the entire time line of the surgery and links you to many videos of his former patients explaining their own recovery process. The day of the surgery came quickly and was basically everything you would hope a surgery could be: painless, quick and with excellent care. Both Dr De Silva and his anesthesiologist came to see me individually beforehand. The anesthesiologist explained exactly what he was going to do, what drugs he was going to give me, basically a whole rundown so that I knew what was going to happen and wouldn't be nervous. I felt very confident because the procedure was done under twilight anesthesia, which essentially meant I was out like a light (whilst technically still being awake) and I only remember coming to after the surgery. I thought I had woken up during, and was surprised it had finished! I was shivering a lot after which is quite normal I am told, and brought to a small room afterwards with a blanket and what felt like a small warm hoover so I could warm up. Looking in the mirror immediately post surgery, my eyes were huge and swollen, but the swelling really came on the second day after the surgery and my eyes looked very bruised and tender and there was a little bleeding, which was totally normal. One of the eyes did hurt a little when blinking but that slowly went away, and by two weeks my swelling had gone down to the point where I looked relatively normal, although I already went out for dinner at the 5 day mark. I went on an international flight at the two week mark and there weren't any issues. The biggest thing was having to continually ice my eyes for the first week or two. It was difficult to tell how my eyes were going to settle for the first month or so, but at 3-4 months post-office now I can confidently say that my eyes look fantastic. The eyelids are very natural, not huge and doll like and instead look like I was born with them. There is still scarring which is slowly fading but I have realistic expectations with that. Mostly nobody noticed I got surgery - which is exactly what I wanted. I don't think about my eyes anymore - they no longer bother me, they feel lighter and less heavy and my eyelashes have been brought out rather than pointing down so they no longer poke me in the eyes, and best of all, I no longer look tired or despondent unless i actually am. The entire experience with Dr De Silva has been nothing but fantastic. Initially I was a little nervous because Asian upper blepharoplasty is quite different from regular blepharoplasty, but not only are the aesthetic results natural and fitting for my face, but I also received the best care and twilight anesthesia means I have zero trauma from the surgery unlike many horror stories that I've heard and read about. Dr De Silva is one of those rare kind of doctors that have it all - skill and an ability to listen to and work with his patients to create the most natural and desired result, which is all anyone can ask for.

I had my procedure with Dr Julian De Silva in March '17. His attention to detail and profound insight into ethinic rhinoplasty put me at ease. I had the procedure under twilight anesthesia and found the whole process a breeze as I didn't move or become conscious at any point during my surgery. The results had me stunned to tears as I never thought it possible that I could have my dream nose after so many years of fillers and false promises from less reputable doctors I had visited previously. Dr. Julian likes to under promise and over deliver - this is a rare thing in the cosmetics industry, but you should always trust the doctor that put his reputation and the emotional needs of the patient before money... Great practice and a wonderful team of nurses/staff that supported me through EVERY aspect of the surgery and beyond. I would highly recommend that you invest in Dr. Julian's expertise, from my research and personal experience with him, it seems he NEVER fails to deliver results to an impeccably high standard. Dr De Silva is amazing. As well as his team. I thought about rhinoplasty for 20 years and am do glad he finally did the deed! Lovely natural results- he is an artist for sure. His team are all so helpful & they make you feel so at ease. The most amazing part was NO PAIN - thats right- i did not gave to take 1 painkiller after surgery...amazing!!!! You have to remember the healing takes time but i was back to myself so quickly! If you are thinking of doing it- do it...you wont regret it. Best decision i ever made. Dr. Julian De Silva performed upper and lower Blepharoplasty earlier this year which included Canthopexy, fat transfer and skin resurfacing. My upper eyelids were very droopy and I had heavy bags under my eyes which made me look very tired.The surgery went very well and I felt no discomfort during or after the operation or during the healing stage and was back at work after 10 days with some very slight bruising. I must say that I have been very impressed with the care and attention that has been afforded me during my initial consultation, operation and follow up by Dr. De Silva and his excellent team. My family and friends have noticed a marked difference in my appearance and say I look a lot less tired and fresher. Needless to say I would highly recommend Dr. De Silva to anyone considering having this procedure or any other facial surgery.

I had my upper eyelid surgery a month back and am very pleased with the results.Dr Silva's approach to the whole procedure was to achieve very natural results.The after care was good and to have your surgeon calling you to find out if all was well later on the day of the surgery was an unexpected but welcomed surprise .The staff at the Hammersmith clinic are very pleasant and friendly.I would certainly approach Dr.Silva if and when I would like to have anything else done in the future.

I went in to see Dr De Silva for a revision rhinoplasty however he advised against it in my case (due to complications with previous surgery). He suggested a non-surgical rhinoplasty instead as it was only a minor saddle just under the bridge of my nose. I respected his professional opinion and appreciated his integrity as a surgeon to go against surgery and to proceed with the best option for me. I came in for my "procedure" approximately a month after my initial consultation and it was a sterile and relaxing environment; and Dr De Silva was very comforting. He explained the process and procedure and asked if I had any tweaks or questions before he started. Throughout the procedure, I was completely at ease and had a very positive experience. When I saw my nose afterwards, I nearly cried because it was beautiful and just what I had wanted. The marks healed very quickly and it was sensitive for a day or two. I came in a week later for a follow-up appointment and naturally some of the filler had absorbed so I had a top-up to make sure it was perfect! Overall- I had a wonderful experience, Dr De Silva and his team are extremely accommodating and professional and I will definitely be coming back.

I have recently had a Blepharoplasty procedure and I am extremely pleased with the results. My eyelids had become very heavy and the skin was actually starting to cover my eyelashes, my eyelids had disappeared and I started to feel very old and I constantly looked tired.With a busy lifestyle and working long hours, I decided to do something about it when work colleges started to comment on my tired look. After much research I decided to have my blepharoplasty performed by Dr De Silva. I contacted his practice and was greeted by his very friendly and professional staff, I immediately felt at ease with discussing the area that concerned me most as I'm sure like most men l do not find this so easy to do. My appointment was at a time that suited me and I was able to fit it into my busy work schedule. After the procedure, Dr De Silva gives valuable aftercare advice, follow this to the letter and you will be astonished at the results and recovery time. I was out and about after two days with very minimal bruising or swelling which had gone within seven days. I had my stitches removed one week later and was astonished by the results, my eyelids were back, and so were my eyelashes, my eyes were symmetrical and it looked totally natural. I cannot even see any scarring when I lift my eyebrows up and there is no redness, the stitching was superb. For a man it is essential to have a natural look and I certainly got that. When I awake in the morning I feel the difference straight away, the heaviness has gone and when I look in the mirror my eyes look very bright and fresh, even after a hard days work I still look good which has been noticed by lots of my colleges but they cannot fathom out why. I have also noticed an improvement to my eyesight now that the weight has been removed and I continually see more gradual improvements each week. I highly recommend Dr De Silva to all of you guys out there who are looking for a superb surgeon that gives you a natural look, you will not be disappointed.

When I woke up, I felt refreshed and as though I had just had a nap. I was able to get up in 10-20 minutes and then go home. Recovery was pain free as well. I had no bruising. The only discomfort was sleeping the first night on my back. I am very happy with my results and feel they have improved my life. I had septoplasty / Rhinoplasty three weeks ago exactly tomorrow, I have One word “Wow” This whole experience has absolutely been amazing. From the moment I came across Dr Julian’s website I had a gut feeling he would be the surgeon for me, but of course I needed to meet him in person and discuss in further detail the rhinoplasty I desperately wanted to undertake, which has been in my heart since I was 13/14, I am now 23. Consultation day was here, now I am without a doubt a perfectionist, I know exactly what I want down to the smallest detail, I think Dr julian picked up on this within five minutes of meeting me. He kindly explained to me rhinoplasty is a big procedure and perfection is not possible but an improvement definitely is. Of course I knew deep down this was the case but I still had a strong detailed vision of what I wanted. I sent him hundreds of pictures of noses I liked and along with actually editing my own nose to show what I wanted the out come to be, I was obsessed.. We discussed in great detail everything that he would do for me in order to get my dream nose! Well I was sold.. his kind natured, warm personality and attention to detail yet realistic approach sold me. I was booked in for 2/3 weeks to have my operation.. I didn’t want to wait. Operation day came, when I arrived the team was unbelievably reassuring and so lovely about everything.. I was ready to go under... my anaesthetist was unreal, he had such a calming vibe and kept me completely relaxed, before I knew it I was asleep, I then woke up, it honestly felt like I’d had a lovely little nap! I woke up feeling absolutely fine and went home. The first week was a doddle, 1 week had arrived it was time to take my cast of, the cast came off nice and easy and instantly I was over the moon, I could straight away see the amazing results (even though there was slight swelling) I knew once this swelling goes down I’d have my dream nose. Dr julian gave me an injection which would help get rid of the swelling and while I was driving home i felt like my nose was getting smaller and smaller. He doesn’t know this but I went out with all my friends that night after having my cast off at 5pm, that just shows you how minimal my swelling was and the instant confidence I had. Day by day the swelling has decreased beautifully. Dr julian may say absolute perfection can’t be delivered but I beg to differ, my nose is absolutely perfect for me in every single way, he listened to everything I said, every detail and it’s even better than I had hoped which I wasn’t sure would be possible coming from someone with an eye like me but it is and it’s changed my life amazingly. It is now four months since the removal of both my upper and lower eye lids by surgenn, Dr. Julian de Silva. The results are better than I could ever have expected and I have so many compliments about "how well I look". Apart from close family and friends, who were aware of the surgery, no one has realised that my improved looks are down to a cosmetic procedure, as the look is so natural. My husband thinks I look ten years younger. I will be 70 in a couple of months and I was apprehensive that I was probably too old to get satisfactory results and be able to heal well. During the consultation and pre-op appointments; I was informed of the procedure, we reached a mutual understanding and I was provided information about sedation and things to do before and after surgery for healing and self-care. During the operation; the nurse helped to clarify any concerns and demonstrated a warm and friendly approach. The sedationist is super cool, well experienced and is present during the operation to make sure that the sedation is well maintained. Even though I was sedated for the whole operation, it felt like I was only asleep for 10 seconds and before I knew it, the operation was over (brilliant experience!). After consultations with several other doctors - I did not feel could perform the lower blepharoplasty surgery to the high standard I desired (both in terms of safety and aesthetics), I was highly recommended Dr De Silva by a leading U.S. surgeon. I found Dr De Silva to be level headed, calm, confident in his ability and non-pressurising in his approach - the perfect combination for the consultations and operation with him. I decided to go ahead with the lower blepharoplasty (that included fat transfer and laser resurfacing), in March 2017. The operation was seamless - I had twilight sedation, felt no pain and slept during the operation. Upper Blepharoplasty and laser resurfacing I had it in my head if I was going to have surgery I needed a doctor with good eyesight and steady hands. I saw two surgeons and stopped looking after meeting Dr De Silva. I found his manner very calming and he was informative as well as me feeling I had his undivided attention. I found his staff very friendly and helpful at the pre-op appointments and I had no fears until the actual day of the operation. I was prepped then taken in to the operating room. I felt nothing the whole 2.5 hrs, I was wide awake throughout and nothing but the smell was unpleasant. I had no idea what to expect but I was not ready for how quick and easy it was. I could see minutes after surgery and was ready to go home. The first evening was fine, I did exactly as the instruction pamphlet told me. Lots of tablets and creams to administer but no pain or discomfort. The next morning I woke with a huge amount of swelling distorting my face badly and at this point I did wonder what I had done. I got through the next day with lots of ice and tried not to look in a mirror. By the next and subsequent days the swelling rapidly decreased and I could see my new eyes for the first time. One week from surgery I went back to have my stitches taken out then on that same day I went back to work. My eyes looked normal for the first time in 15 years, they were round again instead of little hooded slits – and they let in so much light! There was a feint discolouration under my eyes so I applied foundation. In the passing weeks everything seemed to tighten up, the last little bit of swelling disappeared and my skin colour around my eyes went back to normal. I had Rhinoplasty and Septoplasty with Dr De Silva on the 25/06/2016 and I cannot express how thrilled and overwhelmed I am with the results. The whole experience has been truly life changing and nothing but positive. Why did I decide to undergo rhinoplasty? I decided to have the procedure due to a large hook shape on my nose. This made me feel very uncomfortable and really effected my confidence, as it really didn’t suit my face. It also became apparent to me how much I struggled being assertive with other people or looking people in the eye while studying at university. With many reasons I decided it was something I needed, I was so fed up of feeling sad about my nose. Why Dr De Silva? I have wanted Rhinoplasty since I was 17 years old (5-years ago), because it’s such a technical procedure I spent three years searching for the right surgeon. Surgery So on the day of my surgery I was overcome with nerves. I have the biggest needle phobia and the thought of the procedure made me so scared. The antitheist was also fantastic. Then I woke up. I can honestly say I just loved it! I’ve never had surgery before but I was so relaxed and came around so happy. I just remember waking up and being like it’s done and its pain free?? I decided to have sedation and I cannot express how amazing it was. I left surgery half an hour after my procedure and just felt incredible and completely normal, I was so surprised how quickly the effects of sedation wore off. I was very anxious about sedation as I thought I would hear/see stuff going on, I didn’t at all I can’t believe how much I enjoyed the experience. My experience I noticed a difference as soon as the cast came off, but I must say the 6-8week healing period I seen results virtually every week, I am still noticing smaller refinements now! I still cannot believe how virtually pain free my whole experience was, when I say pain free I mean I didn’t even take a paracetamol. I am so happy with my experience with Dr De Silva, from the very first consultation to the aftercare I have received. To look in the mirror every day and see my nose completely fitting with my other facial features is something I have dreamed about for years, and now that dream is a reality. I am one month out of surgery for upper eyelid bletheroplasty with Dr Julian de Silva. The reviews that I read about him and his work were critical in making my decision so its only appropriate that I add to the great reviews now. I was very uncertain about who to choose to perform this work for me but now that I am healed and applying eye make-up once again, I am so pleased with my decision! Dr de Silva has an excellent consulting manner and the operation and after care were exceptional. Dr de Silva suggested under eye laser resurfacing to add to the fresher eyed look that I wanted and I'm so pleased with the result of that too. I don't look tired and lined anymore! I had been considering surgery for quite some time, mainly due to the increase in social media, such as Instagram and taking 'selfies', which had sadly caused me to find fault with my nose. The website alone made me feel that I had found the perfect surgeon, it was most informative and explained in great detail of all his procedures, including rhinoplasty. I would say another reason for my decision to choose Dr De Silva, was the fact he specialises in the face only. Upon reading nothing but positive reviews on several websites, I booked a consultation. When I arrived on the day of my consultation the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Upon meeting Dr De Silva, he immediately made me feel at ease. All I remember after being given the sedation was a comforting and relaxed feeling spread throughout my entire body, and then I fell asleep, as the next thing I recall was waking up and the surgery was complete. At no point from the moment I woke up and throughout my entire healing process, did I feel any pain or discomfort whatsoever, which was such a relief. Although I bruised under my eyes, my bruising was minimal, and within a week or two my bruising had disappeared. Any bruising I did have, I was able to conceal easily with make up. After my first follow up appointment, I was absolutely thrilled when my cast was removed and I could immediately see a difference. I couldn't be happier with the result. Dr De Silva has stayed consistent whilst I have been under his care, pre op and post op, I cannot fault him. He genuinely cares about his patients and he is a superb surgeon. I had rhinoplasty in January 2015 and I had a very good experience under the care of Dr de Silva and his team. My result is the natural look I wanted and for the first time in my life I have stopped obsessing about my nose! The recovery time was minimal, the majority of the swelling had disappeared after 10 days and I had very minimal bruising. I also experienced absolutely no pain! I was nervous about being sedated rather than having general anaesthetic but I am so glad I did it. It is the same 'going under' experience as general anaesthetic so you have no knowledge of the procedure. The difference is the recovery! I felt normal the same evening as surgery. After my surgery I was posting about my surgery on Instagram and chatting to other people who had had surgery around the same time. I have to say that I realised quickly that my recovery was happening much faster than other people and that I had no complaints when other people were worried about how the result would turn out or saying that they were in a lot of discomfort.
