Bought a 2017 mini SD from. NORTHSTAR. original transaction smooth with good communications as I was buying remotely. After two months the car developed a fault. Again they replied quickly to my e mails and booked the car in for repair and rectified the fault. All staff acted professionally and promptly I can recommend purchasing a car from them.

I purchassed a Volvo XC60 , Absolutly fantastic car. First Class customer service , Keen polite very understanding and a pleaseure to deal with from start to fiinish , I had one Minor issue with the car a few days after purchase, bare in mind these cars are used cars so no one can complain if a minor issues happens, it is how it is delt with that matters . I have to say that Katie was fantastic and could not have helped any more not to mention Matthew too , The matter was cleard up and i will be a returning customer. Purchased car which is fine and value for money, just legal tyre which was an advisory on mot 6 months earlier was supposed to be changed and wasn’t was changed after pointing out on collection. The interesting thing here is that the mot that had 6 months left turned into a 12 month one as it was retested in error so good for me, but new mot had no advisories on although barely legal tyre still on! Also outstanding finance on HPI. I had to do my own checks and clear this up!

So far so good. We bought our car just prior to lockdown. It's a great car. We have a small issue with it which we hope will be resolved Monday so I guess Monday will tell more about their service. However so far we have had a great experience with this company, really friendly staff, I get the impression they do care about their customers and will do what they can to make life a little easier.

I recently purchased a Peugoet from this garage and have had quite a few issues with it. First the fan went straight away and the car had to be returned due to a fault message coming up. A few days after having the car I went to it to start it and it was completely dead. I was informed that this is not something that they would come out too. However, after some pressure was applied they did come and recover the car. I then had further faults with it and had to return it to the garage. Each time I was not offered a car to help me whilst I didn't have access to this one. I also had to take time off work to take the car to the garage. During the warranty period, i took the car back due to the roof rattling (making a disturbing loud noise) and due to the fact the exhaust sounded like a tank. I was informed that the car roof rattled due to the age and the exhaust was a sport exhaust. However, I have taken the car to the garage today and have been informed that the clips on the roof are broken and the exhaust is blown in two places, costing me a lot of money to sort. I have emailed North Star and they have advised that this is what you expect from an older car and that this is just wear and tear. I explained if they had not fobbed me off in the first place then the repair would have been completed under their warranty. They are not bothered and I am left with a large bill for something that they should have paid for. I would never buy a car from them again and would recommend people to stay away or I would advise that they ensure that they keep returning their car until such time as North Star stop ignoring the issues and actually repair them. There is no way this car passed the service or MOT with the exhaust how it is. They say its an independent garage but just happens to be on the same premises. Would avoid all to stay away!!!!!!!! Very disappointed all round. Certainly if you are a woman or older parents, I wouldn't go near them as they clearly exploit people who don't know much about cars.

We bought a black mini convertible John Cooper works it was a nice looking car drove well so we purchase the car we drove it home and that’s when the problem started so we called the garage back and told them about the issue we had tried to get fixed but no garage would look at the car so we took it back and are money back but most annoying thing is we the garage didn’t seem bothered that we taken the car back to them no apologies no money for fuel and travel over 300 miles four times and would not buy a car from them again

we purchased our secound car from NorthStar in November (BMW 1 Series). Sale dealings with Brian were excellent and professional. Unfortunately we had a couple of issues with the car, but Northstar took the car back in and resolved the problems in an acceptable time and even valeted the car. What more can you ask, I would most definetly recommend them and use them again

I saw a car i liked on their website and rang to make an appointment for that same day. When i turned up the car was already out and ready for me to have a good look around. The car was spotless inside and out. The salesman was more than happy to take both me and my husband out on a test drive. I loved the car so we went and had a chat about what we could achieve for part exchange with my car. I was given a very good price so was happy all round. Collected the car 4 days later and have loved it ever since! Have recommended to all my friends

I recently purchased a Jeep Cherokee from North Star and it subsequently transpired that it had a small fault. I returned the vehicle but the the fault persisted and it went back to them, they then sent it to two specialists one of whom finally located and fixed the issue. This was an expensive repair for North Star and I doubt if they made any money on the sale but they were extremely professional throughout, never shirking their responsibilities and delivering me back a perfect vehicle and as a courtesy gave a full valet and put half a tank of fuel in it for me. You never know how good a company is until something goes wrong and it's always a bit of a lottery buying a second hand car but North Star have demostrated they can be trusted. Highly recommended.

Bought a car with my wife from here and have some friends who also have and had similar experiences. They leave you waiting around as if you are lucky they will deal with you and don’t honour agreements , we were told various things about the vehicle and what came with it , which simply weren’t true , such as only 1 key and promised 2 , service and checked which it became apparent hadn’t been done . The car also had several faults despite their checks and warranty which surprise surprise none of them were covered or down to them . They do have some vehicles at good prices but is a reason why , understaffed and quick turnover , no service , no care , no honour .

Was told car was fully serviced and checked over before picking up the car , 20 miles down the road the oil warning light came on , checked the dipstick to find no sign of oil at all.Also checked other levels and found clutch reservoir empty , slow puncture wasn't sorted either. Would never go there again.

Arranged to look at a car that looked perfect on paper, I just needed to check that the gear stick was less work than the last model I tried elsewhere. Probably would have been an easy sale for North Star. We couldn't give an exact time of arrival, only that we would be a couple of hours. We arrived and were told the car was "out the back, will be 5 minutes". I invited myself to use the toilet. Not offered a seat by the two salesmen in the office while we waited, so stood awkwardly by the door. The salesman getting the car called, it was blocked in. "Hopefully won't be more than 15 minutes". This wasn't so much of a problem in itself, although a bit annoying as we were on a time limit with our next commitment. It was the immediate "you didn't give us an exact time so we didn't get the car out" remark that was said twice that did it for me. A company already keen to absolve themselves of all responsibility and blame the customer is not a company I want to give my business. A lucky escape for us I feel.

We purchased a 6 year old Mini Cooper from North Star. The price was fairly typical and the car itself is very good. The salesman were pushy and were clearly focused in nothing more than making the sale, typical for this type of dealer. The usual tactics of “some other guy is trying to sort finance for it so it may go in the next couple of days” and so on. One other thing that I particularly did not like was to be made to indicate how likely I was to buy it before we were allowed to test drive, I don’t think this at all….I want to give that indication AFTER I have test driven. Amazing that places like this have their “Pre delivery inspections” and “so many point checks” yet they failed to notice that the air conditioning didn’t work at all on the Mini. It was nearly a week before they could fit us in, they wouldn’t give a loan car and their location meant I had to get a bus and then a lift from a colleague in to work. So when I got the lift and then a bus back and I was told it wasn’t ready….you can imagine how happy the offer of calling me a taxi for my 19 mile journey home was (pretty sure they weren’t going to cover the cost) I had to make a fuss and was then given a loan car. The issue was resolved, it needed a new condenser…..but there is no excuse for this not being noticed during their “checks”…..which basically made me think these checks do not exist. The service indicator was also on despite it being services a few months ago…..why? why was this not picked up before we collected? We also have now found that they didn't date the change of ownership section of the V5 correctly which has resulted in us paying an extra months tax on the car we part exchanged. I would not recommend North Star and would advise caution.

They were friendly enough when I got the car but when I took it back during the 3 month warranty period I felt they were much more offhand. I said I thought the brakes might have been worn and they said that the noise I was hearing was normal. Sure enough next MOT advisory on worn brake pads. Couple of other minor things as well.

Bought a car off North Star 2 years ago. Initial problem was that the A/C didn't work so I booked the car in for them to look at. The car was returned with a very noisy A/C unit. I'm assuming that the fuse was unplugged prior to it being sold to me so I wouldn't notice the dodgy A/C and when I returned they put the fuse back in. My local garage recharged the system and it now works fine. Why couldn't North Star do that in the first place? Rear shocks were knocking which was annoying but still passed the MOT. Lastly a year after buying it the rear exhaust lost one of the brackets. I thought it was a wear and tear thing. Unfortunately an entire rear box was needed to replace the broken bracket. Funny thing is looking back at the MOT history North Star failed it on a broken exhaust bracket and then passed it shortly after without any mention of it. Some crappy bodge welding job instead of getting it fixed properly? And finally...please get somebody who can polish cars correctly. They are all very badly and cheaply polished. The holograms instilled in the paint by a crappy polishing took me two days work to fix. Won't buy from them again.

I saw a car on their website and so turned up unannounced to view the car on a busy Saturday afternoon. Although there were other customers the salesmen were very accommodating and it was clear they were doing their best to keep everyone happy and seen too. We did have to wait 15 minutes to test drive the car but this was understandable as we weren't first in the queue and they apologised profusely for this wait. The car itself is great and I love it, I have had no problems so far and I was given a full history of the car which I found extremely helpful. All of the staff that I came in contact with were polite and accommodating with my needs. The price of the car at North Star matched what I found online about it so I was happy to pay the price they offered and did not feel that it was over priced at all. I felt the price matched the car's condition and also the service I received. I would really recommend North Star, not only did I have a great experience but they have a vast variety of cars to choose from.

Received a text message whilst selling my car for them to buy it. Made an appointment took all the documentation required. When we got there we were look at like we were a problem. The guy who eventually served us said he didn’t know what he was doing and tried to palm us off on everyone else working there. After rudely asking questions and taking my car for a drive he came back with a ridiculous offer that he knew we would say no to and couldn’t wait to get us out of there. He didn’t even know what he was doing. I could over hear the table next to us and the salesman was horrifically pushy to a young couple.
