Purchased a new van from Brighton, excellent experience thanks to a brilliant Salesman - David Linsdell. Few minor issues along the way as is often the case with new vehicles, but all resolved professionally and efficiently by David. I'm not even local but I'd come back.

Exciting update 30/4/2021: Since Renault's response below, 3 or 4 emails exchanged with various customer relations folks, but, despite lots of warm words, I've still not been called back by the service department to arrange for them to fix the car.... This was my review from two weeks ago: "I love my Renault Zoe I bought from these guys, but when it comes to repairs it has been incredibly frustrating. There has been a problem with the heater for 12 months now. They have looked at it and 'fixed' it twice. Most recently in February when after 3 visits - first time they serviced but didn't deal with the heater, second time 'diagnosed' the problem, third time fixed - the heater worked. Along the way they told me there was always a problem with Zoe heaters (i pointed out they hadn't told me this when they sold me the car in the first place). 100 miles use after they 'fixed' it, the same fault - no heat - has happened again. I've been trying for two weeks (4 phone calls and 2 messages) to get hold of someone in their service department to even respond to me, let alone fix the problem. They could at least supply me with a thick coat if they can't fix the heater. Go ANYWHERE else for a repair"

Recently purchased a new Renault Clio. Very happy with my new car and thoroughly recommend Hendys, in particular Ross. He talked me through my choices and explained how everything would work. As my car was tailored to my specific requests, it took some time before it was ready to collect. Ross kept me updated regularly, calling me on the phone and emailing me with updates. When the time came to collect my car, Ross arranged everything and sent me a video explaining how to use all of the controls and functions. He and his colleagues have been brilliant and continue to offer help and support should I need it. A very smooth process and a very happy customer. Ross is a friendly person whilst remaining extremely professional.

Nothing changes here. My car was in for service and MOT, supposed to be ready by 3pm, called at 4pm was told it was ready and a voicemail had been left by Kim, I had no voicemails. Asked why I had no voicemail & was told they sometimes get busy, more excuses, more like they couldn't be bothered or forgot. The manual and wheel lock nuts were left on the passenger seat too and considering I'm disabled and have to sit in that side of the car, not impressed. The seat belts were also still plugged in. The first service was great they cleaned and hoovered my car but not this time. As usual a very disappointing service. Considering I have complained before you would expect a significantly better service.

My wife asked for a 'standard' service because the service light came on. She was booked in with a 'A class service' After the service she inquired why the service light was still on in the car. She was informed that the light can only be turned off after a oil change and this service did not include a oil change and in fact she had only had the pollen filters changed and would need to pay for a new service to have the oil changed. In what world is a 'standard service' (A class service) mean no oil change but pollen filters changed and nothing else!

The service department will take you for whatever they can get, we had a safety recall on our car with a potential oil leak problem. We took the car in and they refused to do the recall work unless we paid them almost £400 for other work to be done. The most galling thing is that the part they wanted to replace needed to be removed in order to do the recall work and the service guy was saying how there was still several hundred pounds worth of labour. Was left with the option of driving off with an unsafe car or paying through the nose for work that they would be doing anyway, I strongly advise you avoid the service department here.

Brought a Renault captur last year with a 1 year extended warranty the car was only 3 years old. Two weeks after picking it up I had to return it as the handbrake would not stay on, pulled fully up on a hill and the car would roll and considering the car just got a mot and got safety check from hendy before I pick it up don’t know how that was missed! They said they would sort it and some scratches that was on the car that was meant to get removed before I had pick it up, well they tightened the handbrake and just left the scratch’s I also mentioned that the door seals where split and I got reassured that it was covered by the warranty and all I would need to do is book it in and it would get done. Well with the Covid lockdown I have only just got it back there for them to look at it after looking at the car they tell me that’s its not covered and I would have to pay for it to be done. If I had got told this when asked them about it I would have just returned the car but clearly they were more interested in selling the car then being honest about it. I will never use this company again even the services department is useless book online for a essential service for my car as the light came on, only got the basic one as I knew I would have to pay for the light to get switched off anyway, my husband a mechanic so he was going to do the rest of it and it save a lot of money I was meant to pay £168 for service and to have a mot when I went to pick up the car I got told that I had to pay £340 and when I asked why it was so much I got told because that’s what my car needed which I knew but never booked it in for that, so they do work you don’t ask for then charge you after. I ended up paying £230 which still is more than I was meant to. So I’ve had the car 8 months and so far it had a handbrake problem, door seals spilt, coolant leak, all brakes need to be replaced, all tyres need replacing, drop leak need replacing. Considering I have only driven the car 5000 miles since getting the car there shouldn't be this many faults. I will never use this company again and I will tell as many people as I can to AVOID this company!!!

Diabolical. My car has been with them over a month now. Communication? They just don't, no calls whatsoever to keep you in the loop. Try phoning the Service Dept, never get through, option to leave message.....don't waste your time, they do not phone back. Only way to get through to Service Dept. is ring Sales! & insist they put you through or visit in person.

I have to say, the new vans are unreliable with persistent breakdowns this compounds to this dealership not being able to cope and long wating times which for me means loss of revenue and service. I wouldn't mind so much however flushing brand new engines isn't a permanent repair its just fire fighting. They have never actually diagnosed the same fault that has affected the majority of the fleet. Totally lost trust in the brand on the product and back up support.

Don't trust this folks, honestly. I was shock what I've seen when I went to pick up my vehicle. One of the workers forgot to put handbrake on, obviously the car rolled down into another one. Put it back like nothing happened. Now, whom knows whom those vehicles belong to, but it doesn't matter, because nothing happened, right?

I purchased a car here back in June. Forgot to write a review. But I had a great experience considering Covid had just taken its toll. The whole experience was professional from start to finish. From sanitising stations at the front, to a set route to be followed to ensure no unecessary contact was made with anybody. The test drive was longer than anticipated and the car was all clean, washed, hoovered and ready to go. The sale experience was fantastic too with Joshua and he did everything possible to make sure a good deal was had. Would recommend buying from Henry again and considering I drove 2 hours for my SEAT, I can confirm that it was very worth it. Great job everybody. Merry Christmas

Dreadful service, bad attitude and too busy to care. Calls are handled by a customer service team elsewhere, which makes things extra difficult. We were charged for a part we didn't need, work wasn't completed, and apparently many things were our fault - blaming the customer does not go down well with me.

Used the central service number to book my annual service. Spoke to a very helpful advisor who advised what level of service I needed, confirmed the price and booked me in for a 'Waiting Service' so I wouldn't have to go backwards and forwards. Got the car to the garage just before 8am and was greeted by a very pleasant chap named Tim who was extremely courteous and adhered to social distancing/procedures. Tim clarified what I was having done to the car and advised me I'd be contacted once complete. About an hour an a half later, Tim came to find me to advise that the car was all done (it had also been sanitised) and we completed the payment which I was given discount on. From start to finish a great service. Thank you central service number, Tim and not forgetting the technician who carried out the service. Great job, thank you.

After leaving 4 messages for the service department today. I again had to call them only to be told that they don’t receive the messages!! Kim then promptly hung up on me and they are now refusing the answer the phone. I’ve bought 3 Cars through this company and dealt with Aaron who was great, but will never purchase through them again. The worst customer service I have ever received. Well done. P.S could you please fix our faulty car?!

We've recently bought a Renault Zoe from Hendy's, having used the dealership at Hollingbury for about twenty years. Over this time we have been satisfied with sales, servicing and helpfulness, having purchased several Renaults including Clios and Meganes, both diesel and petrol. We recently decided to go for a more environmentally sound position as Renault have produced the critically well-reviewed electric Zoe which has a good range. We were helped through the process by an excellent, patient and friendly sales advisor and, despite the difficulties posed by Covid, felt the purchasing to be a good and smooth experience. We are well satisfied with the car.

This garage itself was ok. But try and call them and there are problems. Tried to call to cancel a test drive with Ollie but the main switchboard nowhere near Brighton had never heard of him. So we couldnt cancel and he didnt know. So Ollie if youre reading this we didnt turn up because of a family emergency and your HQ couldn't let you know.

Have had dealings with John on the service side of Hendy, comes across very professional and nothing is too much trouble for him. Three occasions have approached John regarding my car and once while Hendy was servicing my daughters car. Everything was professionally dealt with. Thank You Mazda 3 and Mazda 2

I’m sure they are good at certain aspects of their job, but I just had my car fixed for over £300 cheaper than the work they said needed doing. The issue was not the one they identified at all, the part did not need replacing and even if it did they were quoting about £250 to replace a sensor that was not faulty (plus the cost of the sensor itself). The car just needed to be taken out of limp mode for the sensor to detect the correct level of diesel particles, completely obvious when explained to me by usual mechanic at Baileys in Hove, who I could not recommend highly enough by the way. It’s not exactly a secret that you pay through the nose at the dealerships but given the work was also incorrectly assessed, I would recommend you look elsewhere or at the very least get a second opinion from some one you trust to avoid paying considerably more than you need to.

My Mazda was recalled for some work. I was allocated hendy for the work. They couldn't have been nicer, they also fixed my dodgy back washer, changed the battery in my key and washed and hoovered my incredibly and shamefully dirty car, and didn't charge me a penny. Highly recommend.

My wife is visiting the UK driving her Renault Scenic 2 years old, about to return to the ferry when a fault code came up phoned Hendy Renault for help she was told because she was driving a French Renault they could not help because of the French language, so if you drive a English car in France do not brake down.. Took the Scenic to local garage plug in magic box found problem cleared fault all sort 10 minutes, shame a main dealer dose have the right equipment or time to help very worried women, in all very disappointing

I bought a used Renault Zoe from a London Dealership and had such an awful experience with them that I've only liaised with Hendy Brighton since. Their team have been professional and friendly throughout and the car has been fixed quickly on each occasion. My only niggle is that they do not provide electric courtesy cars yet and putting fuel in the petrol car they kindly lent me reminded me why I love our EVs!! Really happy with the service from John Gonthier-Hearn in particular but generally seem to be a good team throughout.

Chosen by chance as it was the most convenient Renault dealership in the area. Many different cars to see and experience in situ and the people are very helpful and know their stuff. Good for both new cars and used ones - quite a few deals if you look closely.
