Dr. Hurst done shoulder surgery on my left shoulder in August 2020. He did talk to me and prepare me for what to expect, however I don’t think I was prepared. He’s a great doctor, and very professional.
My PT David Lilly was awesome, very professional and all around great guy. I teased him about torturing me, but I knew if I wanted my shoulder at 100% I had to tough it out. He was very caring, and concerned with how my shoulder was doing. I can’t thank Watauga Orthopaedic and Physical Therapy enough for their kindness and concern for my health.

No waiting at noon on a Wed. Ordered X-rays, poked at hurting area to localize pain, diagnosed my problem, ordered a nsaid, physical therapy to teach me exercises, and arranged for 4-wk followup at which time I would be referred to a MD for further treatment if necessary. Just about a perfect visit in my opinion. Sure hope his regime for me works!

We had to go to the walk in side due to an overnight injury. We were recommended to here from our local ER. When we were seen the Doctor redid everything the ER had done and the pain definitely lessened. We are very happy with our visit.

The provider never introduced himself. I did not know who he was for the entire visit. He seemed rushed and in a hurry. I showed him the swelling in the front aspect of my left hip. He had me stand and felt the most lateral aspect of that side. When he touched it there was pain. He said most likely bursitis and offered a shot. I told him that my main pain was running down the front of my hip to my leg. He said you told me it hurt where I touched. I said it does but that was not the main complaint. He said something vague about that and dismissed my comments.
I ask him about the xrays of my hip. He said, you got some arthritis, but I’ve seen worse!!!! Not how bad it was, if it needed attention, NOTHING!
This visit was unprofessional and he was totally unconcerned enough to take time to to listen and explain.

I had carpal tunnel surgery on my right wrist about 10 days ago. One or two stitches either came loose or was not there to start with. The wound healed great except where the opening is. I still have a hole in my wrist that hurts and is pouring yellow & clear fluids. I had stitches taken out today and was told to keep a band aid on it and it would close in a couple weeks.

Had the worst time getting my husband in to be seen. Originally was told that he could walk in to the Kingsport location to get a prednisone shot. The receptionist told him he was unable to be seen due to the medicaid we had at the time. He was talked down to and acted as if we were frauding the government because we could pay upfront. (Because people on medicaid can't afford to self pay apparently). Changed to the Johnson City location after talking to the office manager and letting the entire situation be known with Heather at the Kingsport location. Explained the medicaid situation that we were in, was assured that we could in fact be seen). The day of that appointment I called to verify everything before I wasted time and gas on the trip. Arrived and was told again, that he could not be seen. The office manager reached back out to me afterwards. We immediately dropped the medicaid in order to be seen. We had to wait 3 days to reschedule and show that we had no insurance. The day of that appointment with Dr. Duncan, my husband waited 55 minutes and was immediately told he could not get a shot but needed an MRI done to assess the damage on his back and was prescribed prednisone pills, which didn't work for him. Now that we have regular insurance I will make sure that we go to HMG to get the MRI done and find a doctor that actually cares about their patients and tries to fix the problem.

Horrible place. Did my mother's hip surgery. She nearly lost her life. She has lived in a wheel chair, since the surgery. I thought it was a rare thing to happen, until I met others that had other surgeries, even knee surgery, and never walked again. Go somewhere else for orthopedic surgery. This place doesn't deserve one star. I had to give it to comment.

Very disappointed with the service provided. PA looked at xray, then asked me where it hurt since he didn’t see anything ( I could barely move my leg). Then he looked at xray again and said oh maybe I see a gray spot (fracture)...nothing to do for it. Just rest. I needed more information, concern, guidance, empathy than that so that I could know how to care for my leg.

Always excellent results and no wait time for the walk in clinic. I had a joint locked up today from a previous injury and was worried I may need surgery this time, they were able to get it popped back in and moving, I was on my way in less than 15 minutes.
