Ditching Beacon is stunning. Whether you're walking along the top (which is an easy gentle slope for most abilities) or whether you choose to go down to the villages below, or climb up the famous Beacon, which takes a bit more effort, it's a very worthwhile place to come. On a good day you can see for miles and miles towards the North, and spot some local Sussex vineyards in the valley below. Popular with bikers, hikers, runners and walkers. Dogs are allowed to come here, but on a lead, as there is frequently cattle grazing along the top. Parking is generally easy in the Beacon car park, except on really busy days. There's typically an ice cream can in the car park selling cold drinks and ice creams, lollies etc.

Parked in Ditchling and walked up. Bit of a puff but well worth it. Wonderful view and another English county high point ticked off our list :-)

Beautiful spot for a picnic on a sunny afternoon. Go during the week if you can, although the bus service only runs on the weekend. Sheep are friendly and you can see the majestic wind turbines off the coast. The views of the downs are stunning as well. Small car park so worth a taxi

A beautiful place for family picnic????‍????‍????. It has a small pay and display car park. Parking is at flat rate £3 for whole day or free for National Trust members. As a motorised wheelchair user I was pleased to discover the path from Jack and Jill to the top of the beacon was accessible although you probably need a chair with off-road capability.

Really good views across the south downs. Good place for walking and dog friendly (leads required in areas with livestock) It can get very windy and decent footwear is a must! Oh and watch out for crossing ???? cutting across the pathways.

I cycled to the very top of Ditchling Beacon Hill during my London to Brighton cycle ride in aid of Haven House children's hospice. The hill is huge! and the peak provides a fantastic view for miles around.

Car park is quite small but there are spectacular views from the top. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Just to note there are no amenities (not even a bench to sit on).

A very pretty place, with remarkable views in all directions. I walked there up the hill from Ditchling village, but there's a car park at the nature reserve and I noticed there is a bus service to there from Brighton railway station.

Walking on the north edge of the chalk downs there are wonderful views. Most of the way after the first 150 yards the path is good enough for a push chair.
