Quite a tricky main path up through the trees when wet as it gets very churned up and is a bridle way. Although its a lovely walk, its not a very big walk. Sheep up on the tops of the hill and some of the fencing is down currently so be aware if you have dogs. Very popular walk but this means a lot of cars park on the grass verges on the single track road so makes it difficult to navigate the road if on foot. A lot of steep hills so not for buggies or anyone that struggles with a lot of hills

Brilliant walk from Pyecombe (free, but limited, parking on the roads in the village) up to the top of Wolstonbury Hill. A mainly gentle chalky slope from Pyecombe, through a narrow wooded area and then across some open fields (with cattle grazing), nearer to the top. Suitable for most people with appropriate footwear - we took our 3, 6 and 7 year olds up. Great views from the top on to the surrounding countryside.

Took the kids here on a recommendation. Great little wood with a few rope swings to find to interest the kids. Some interesting little paths through the woods. You can walk up onto the hill (steep) for amazing views inland and over Brighton. Park on the road in a small layby area. Room for a few cars.

Beautiful hill on the South Downs, with a steep climb from the north and a gentle one from the south. Fantastic views west to Chanctonbury ring and east to Jack and Jill windmill's.

This hill stands alone & off the well trod South Downs Way. From any direction, it is a very nice walk to the trig point where good views await.

Nice walk, swings in the woods for kids, nice 360 view at the top. 10/10 would recommend.

As it is half cut off from the South Downs way by the A23 as it leaves Brighton Woolstonbury hill is less visited than the rest of the downs in that area, but is probably the most beautiful (and no doubt has the best views). Start from New Way Lane on the northern side and hike straight up - it's steep but well worth it. Look out for nightingales and butterflies on eastern side too.
