Only rarely post reviews but The Eyecare Centre is a cut above any other optician in Brighton and Hove. Expert clinical care for young and old backed up by the latest kit and super friendly service. The range of high quality frames they have is spot on.
I've recommended so many people who are struggling elsewhere to come to see Sandip and not one of them has come back to me with anything but praise and sorted eyes.
My daughter wanted to try contact lenses despite having long sightedness of 6.0. They helped her choose the right ones after a thorough evaluation and were then quite brilliant in how they taught her to use and care for them properly.

My first appointment at The Eyecare Centre and I appreciated the the friendly and efficient receptionist at booking followed by the open communication of Sandip who examined my eyes. I learned such a lot about my eyes’ condition - visuals from the state-of-the-art equipment helped greatly. I felt unhurried and listened to, which has given me confidence going forward. I recently went to the Eyecare centre for a second opinion as I've been through a number of problematic prescriptions this year, and I struggled to get a correct assessment. I must say Dr Doshi was excellent, as he took a really good look at what had been troubling me, and after a thorough exam he found that my previous presciptions were all incorrect, and more importantly he had a clear solution. For anyone that needs a really experienced view and someone who can look at a problem with a broad perspective I can't recommend him highly enough. His team are very skilled and friendly and they made me a new pair of glasses in less than a week - and I'm happy to say that they are working really well. If only I had discovered this place months ago! Many thanks!

I've been going to The Eyecare Centre for decades now and even though I no longer live locally, I won't go anywhere else. My two children also visit regularly. Sandip and the team are professional, knowledgeable and welcoming. Every examination is very thorough and is carried out with the latest high tech equipment. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this opticians.

The Eyecare Centre is an excellent independent opticians. I have been with them for 12+ years and my wife and I really value the expert advice we receive from Sandeep. I always feel reassured after an appointment as he listens attentively and conducts a very thorough eye exam. They always seems to have the latest tech which is very reassuring as we have a family history of glaucoma and I know I will be alerted early to any potential issues. There's never any pressure to buy anything as they don't work to the sales targets set by the ' High St chain' opticians. The visits are enjoyable thanks to a very friendly, efficient and professional team . As you might guess I really recommend them !

What an in depth eye test! Not only did Sandip show me some many different views of my eye internally (back to front), but he also gave an in depth analysis of the health of each eye, also highlighting an injury to one eye that I'd never previously known about. Incredibly communicative throughout, walking me through every result and explaining it in layman's terms. Their equiptment is the most modern I've seen in a practice. Highly recommended!

I have been with Dr Sandip Doshi's practice for almost twenty years. I have a complex prescription and have had eye surgery, so needed expert care throughout; I've received this all the way. Sandip's communication is excellent, as is his care. Thorough examinations for eye health include digital retinal imaging. He has been brilliant with our three children, and is a thoroughly decent guy. I can't recommend this practice highly enough. We have all received eye care to a very high standard.

My whole experience with the Eyecare Centre was an absolute dream.
I have had glasses since I was 4 years old and at almost 30 it has taken this long to find someone I completely trust with my eyes and my son’s eyes.
They have been excellent at adapting the centre so that it is "COVID safe", the moment you enter the premises you are welcomed by friendly and inviting staff, I was taken through to have my test almost immediately and the test was fantastic! I have never had so much information on my eyes and this was just an NHS test!! Sandip explained everything in so much detail, which is what I have needed for a long time as I have had two ulcers on one eye and a high prescription.
Sandip took his time with me and I didn't feel rushed at all - it was all so pleasant, and I was surrounded by top of the range equipment, this is certainly a place that take your eyes seriously!! I say that, Sandip also has a great sense of humour so the whole test was just great.
once I had completed my test I was taken back to the main floor, now this bit was magic. Usually I am super fussy, I take hours choosing glasses and as I said before after wearing glasses for 26 years, I don't usually enjoy this bit as I have a thick prescription and can’t see a thing when I try them on.
The gentleman that helped me choose my glasses knew exactly what he is doing and honestly, the first pair of glasses he chose for me, I fell in love with! they are super trendy, right shape and size for my face and suitable for my thick frames so that I do not look silly.
I had my son booked in a few weeks later, he is 4 and it was his first eye test, once again the whole team are just incredible, all of their expertise complement each other and they create a very professional, inviting place to attend.
I would strongly urge anyone and everyone to come here for their eye tests - I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my son’s eyes or mine ever again!

I was recommended by some friends after having an awful experience at a High Street opticians to visit Sandip and his team. Immediately I walked into his clinic I felt relief, the receptionist smiled and asked me questions with interest, not the usual bored look you get when you go to a multiple.
Sandip asked a lot of questions about my visit to the multiple, asked me to trust him and he would do lots of tests, his knowledge of the industry was by far the most informative I have ever heard, his surgery equipment is so up to date for a small practice.
Sandip gave me his opinion, and he was willing to help me, which was a huge relief.
I was then passed onto his lady that advises on your glasses again she knew her business and helped me choose and advising me at the same time. Overall the service was over 100% the whole team go over and above their directive.
Sandip not only has one new life time customer but two, as my husband know plans to visit when his test is due. THANKYOU.

Frustrated by the High St chains where I felt as though I was treated like a number, with no attention to my individual needs, a friend suggested I tried The Eyecare Centre. On arrival on the day of my appointment, I was greeted with a warm smile by the receptionist, which put me at ease immediately. The examination was the most thorough I have ever had and the technology in this place was incredible. The optometrist explained each test and their results in full and I felt very confident under his care. He was very thorough and addressed all my concerns. I was told I needed spectacles for driving and far away and I was passed onto their dispensing opticians. They were very attentive but not pushy, they helped me choose a lovely pair of frames which fitted perfectly. They then advised me about lenses which were specifically designed for glare when driving.
My whole experience from start to finish was a total contrast to the usual High St chains. I felt that they really cared about my needs and that they had my best interest at heart. What a refreshing difference! I will be recommending them to all I know.

As a family we have been going to the eye care centre for over 6 years. My daughter loves a trip there! We have lenses and glasses with regular visits. The team are friendly, you feel they really know you and it’s a very personal, consistent approach. Most importantly we always feel plenty of time is taken and the most up to date innovations to check your overall eye and general health are available and invested in. Very reassuring.

Came here on a recommendation from a friend and no regrets! For the first time in my life I could actually see properly without struggling. The specialist eye test is well worth the money and they could even see a birth mark on the back of one of my eyes! Having Ehlers Danlos Syndrome ,dyslexic and dyspraxia has always impacted my eyesight and ability to learn, my new prescription will now help to alleviate this and make studying easier, can't recommend enough!

Dr Doshi is very warm, friendly and personable. He provides a very thorough examination of your eyes, he will tell you everything he is doing along the way and explains the reason for them. The service he provides is definitely worth every penny that you pay for, especially because he tailors his consultation (about your eyes health and condition) to your personal context (daily routine and work). He is very honest in his discussion. Honestly, don't think twice, just book and you won't regret it.
All other members of staff are also super friendly! I was early to my appointment, but the welcome I receive is nice, warm and friendly. They even helped me choose which frame suits me best :0).
The service isn't cheap, I will tell you that for free. However, I must say that what you get is worth every penny (even more than) what you're paying for. I will definitely keep returning for my future check-ups.

Myself and my 2 children have been going to The Eyecare Centre for over 10 years. I am always very impressed with the attention we get from the staff . The Optometrist, Dr Sandip Doshi makes us feel comfortable and explained everything to us throughout the testing and my children like going there as he makes them laugh! I recently purchased a new pair of glasses from there and was feeling a little overwhelmed by the choice of frames, the staff immediately gave me advice in what frames would suit me and I ended up purchasing the first pair they picked out for me. I would never go anywhere else, fantastic place :D

After a recent eyetest I would thoroughly recommend The Eyecare Centre. Sandip was excellent at explaining all parts of the process in a very calm, kind and professional manner. The test was very thorough and covered a great amount of detail on the health of the eye rather than just the focus part of my vision. As I am getting older, I worry more about looking after my sight. I was recommended to The Eyecare Centre by a friend who had received good service there before. I was very impressed with the thoroughness taken with the tests and when choosing my new glasses. This is a traditional opticians with all the latest technology. The staff made me feel relaxed and welcome, nothing was too much trouble. I am really looking forward to getting my beautiful new designer glasses. I will be certainly recommending The Eyecare Centre to all of my friends.
