Today I attended Crawley hospital for surgery. I dont think I have ever actually written a review but if felt important to share my experience. I can honestly say that the treatment I recieved from every staff member was truly outstanding. They were extremely kind, supportive and highly professional. I felt in very safe hands at all times. The staff really took their time to talk clearly through the procedure and answered all my questions, instantly reducing my anxiety. The procedure I was in for was rather sensitive case but the staff really supported me emotionally and appeared highly empathetic in the situation. The premises was very clean. Thank you to all the staff- you are amazing.

Turned up with bleeding whilst 12 weeks pregnant. Advised to go and get it checked. Was there over 2 hours to be apologised to by the doctor as I couldn't be helped here!!
I called ahead and spoke to staff to check I could be seen explaining the issue. They said yes, come down.
Spoke with reception about issue, they booked me in.
Saw a triage nurse 25minutes later, told me to wait for the doctor, he would be another 45 minutes.... An hour and a half later I saw the doctor who apologised as they couldn't do anything to help me as they didn't have the facilities!!!
How did NONE of the other staff not realise that a woman having a potential miscarriage would need to go to a different hospital?!
This isn't just wasting time and resources, it's dangerous.

Visited the child immunisation department. The nurses there were lovely and really put my son at ease by chatting away to him whilst they did the jabs in each arm.
The receptionist (I wonder why they get these reputations) was brusque and was wearing her mask over chin only. Go figure...

Trying to speak to audiology department at Crawley on behalf of my elderly mother, October 2020. Her actual hearing aid needs to be looked at . In meantime changed the whole tubing ,and she has also had her ears irrigated.
The hearing aid is now the issue and needs to be updated but I cannot get to speak to a person. Tried repeatedly over several months.
My mother’s hearing is her life line at 92 yrs old and without the aid of a properly functioning hearing aid her life has become very isolated as well as Covid 19 isolation.
What are older people meant to do? Healthcare should be for all. I can accept services have to be reduced and with the pressure of Covid but this is unacceptable as services can resume within safe levels of delivery.

Just wanted to say a big 'Thank You' to the ladies in the restaurant, I attend the Escape Pain classes on Tuesdays & Thursdays and use a stick to assist me walking but manage to pop in before the classes.
The ladies are always smiling and tell me to sit down whilst they bring my coffee and snack over to my table, so very helpful, little things do matter, thank you all !

An embarrassing display of poor management. Throughly disgraceful. Arrived with a bleeding hand after an incident with a chainsaw. No one took a moment to check how bad is was all I got was it’s a 5 hour wait!
Dismayed. I left, we drove 14 miles to Princess Royal Hayward’s Heath, on arrival, triage was advertised as 8 minutes, I was seen, wound dressed provided with pain relief as part of the triage. Doctor arrived soon after, wound inspected, cleaned, and dressed, referred to Plastic Surgeon. All under an hour.
Same NHS, just how you manage it.

I had an appointment in the Women's Unit on 7th October 2019 and received remarkable care from all the staff in that department. Particularly Pam Pritchard the receptionist who was extremely good at calming me down and telling me what was entailed.The Ultrasound section Code 55506 were also very informative and made me less anxious and more relaxed with the procedure taking place. Also the two nurses who were with me during consultation were excellent and unfortunately I did not note their names. Thank you all for being so attentive and caring towards me it was most appreciated.

Was seen tonight after calling 111, they told me someone will phone me back within 12 hours. Less than half hour later they contacted me and gave me an appointment to go down within the hour. Was seen by a really friendly doctor this evening. Fantastic service, love the new refurbishment.

Crawley (half of a) hospital thanks to Laura Moffatt and the labour party deciding a town with over 100,000 residents doesn't deserve it's own hospital. Henry Smith isn't much better since he has been in post for 8 years and still no sign of core services such as A&E and Maternity returning anytime soon. Lastly, why do they have Jumbo Ward on the 5th floor? What if there was a fire in the building, how will you get the children out of the building quickly and safely?

The parking is absolutely ridiculous here. Nowhere near enough spaces and all the roads leading off are all permit holders only.
You literally have to park a mile away from the hospital, really handy if you are injured or sick!

The word hospital should not be used for this place.
It's mainly used as a walk-in centre for minor injuries and for appointments. It's basically a massive Doctors surgery. It's a shame really as a town as big as Crawley should have a proper hospital and not be sending people to East Surrey or Brighton.
The building is clean on the inside and the staff who work here are nice and friendly.
The carpark is very small and during peak times you can struggle to find a space.

The process has changed when you have to have your medication transfusion and it’s a long wait the hospital haven’t considered patients pay for car parking and after 1 hour and 10 minutes I haven’t started my transfusion.
The pharmacy waits for patients to turn up and then it takes the usual bureaucratic time for medication to appear in your ward.
The medication transfusion time is usually 2 hours and I allow always 3 hours parking.
What more could be done here?Park for a whole day for a 2 hours job?
Do patients have to worry about their health plus the parking tickets?

Dreatfull .. I wont be usinig again. We areived around 12 and waited good 4h . Is not a system in place at all some of the persones came long after us being seen before us. They dont care who’s coming in 1st . They need to train properly their staff .

In 2018 i went for an emergency situation and it was horrible because the doctor was a bully and 1 nurse as well, horrible it was horrible.
I am very sorry for not having reported this situation to the NHS authorities, this situation left me very traumatized, I never wanted to go back there when I needed to see a doctor or nurse. ????

Useless, I made an appointment after calling 111 then had to wait 15 minutes for the receptionist, another half an hour to be called by the doctor. I was hoping to be prescribed something after being very ill for a few days, but was not just told to “buy something over the counter”. Also very long waiting times and unhelpful rude staff. There are not enough parking spaces in the car park at Crawley hospital either

Was told I would be one of the first in theatre by pre-op nurse as I lived some distance away, after long wait in ward I was told some hours later I was to be last in by a nurse, which prompted me to walk out, I`ve had better patient care abroad.

NONE Of two wending machines is working they all are out of order you can't even eat anything or drink and waiting here so long it's disgusting. People that came after us going in. Ridiculous. Visited with partners child as she had very high temperature and a rash both doctors we saw said was nappy rash / heat rash didn’t really pay attention to it then sent us home the next day we went easy Surrey instead as her temperature was high again 39.7 doctors here have said it’s a viral infection and 100% not nappy/heat rash where just lucky it was not nothing worse then just viral rash
