I was admitted to the orthopaedic department to have a hip replacement procedure. I can honestly say the whole experience was truly fantastic. From when I arrived Saturday morning to when I was discharged Sunday pm the entire time I was looked after first class. The operation was done to the highest possible degree and every member of staff went that extra yard to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The food was excellent and the ward was very clean quiet and comfortable. The best hospital experience one could wish for. A special thanks to all the orthopaedic staff especially on Oaks ward. Thank you x

Lovely and amazing staff always willing to help. Excep the Asian (Indian or Pakistani) female Pharmacist was very rude and disrespectful to her patients. I hope senior hospital management take a notice of this.

Every time I have been to Epsom hospital I have had no complaints the staff are always very friendly and helpful. I was very happy to be booked their for my antenatal care as I'm in between Epsom and Crawley. On a recent trip to A&E no stone was unturned to find what was wrong I literally had every possible test. Truly grateful to all the amazing staff.

The nurses an health care assistant are brilliant but the office staff an most of the doctors are rude , there is no communication but they department and patients, I’m supposed to a appointment in regards to my big toe in February and heard nothing , I then phoned the hospital beginning of March an got told that I was on the waiting list but they will email the doctor to get in touch with me he hasn’t , I have just rang up today about something else an made inquiries about my big toe and got told that he hadn’t put me on the waiting list an that he wasn’t going to be operating on my toe

The John Kilner Unit (JKU) at Epsom District Hospital (EDH) is very good, very friendly and helpful staff. Photo is the waiting area as you can see the waiting area has a lot of information for Diabetic patients and a lovely fish tank to help patients relax

Considering what hospitals and staff have been through these last months, the staff were wonderful, professional, and having a friendly joke with the patients to keep them from being nervous. Can't praise them enough.

I cannot recommend this hospital enough!!! I had 4 of my 8 children in this hospital. The amount of care that I had was incredible during my pregnancy. The labour ward is the best thing the midwives, nurses and doctors are top quality!!! My last baby has Down syndrome. The professionalism, warmth and care that I received after my baby was born was incredible. I would just like to have another baby to have the same experience. Best hospital ever!!!!

I had to visit A&E yesterday afternoon (12/07) due to having very severe abdominal pain and was extremely impressed with how the situation was handled. I was very quickly given a bed as the nurse could see I was in a lot of pain and was almost immediately given painkillers to help. Every single encounter we had that day with staff was excellent, wish I remembered all their names so I could thank each one. The only ones I remember are Monica (consultant), Carl, Dani, Catherine and Oluwani Joaquin. By far the best hospital I’ve ever been to, thank you all!

I was in the Derby Ward from Oct 7-10th 2020. EVERYBODY I met, my surgeon, anesthetist, theatre doctors and nurses, pre theatre nurses, ward doctors, sisters, nurses, physios, dinner lady, porters, cleaners were smiling and kind, wonderful. The nurses and sisters are angels.I cannot thank them all enough.

I have been a patient at Epsom hospital regularly now for 8 years! I have received amazing care from Swift Ward which is Surgical ward! I have to come in regularly for treatment and always treated with respect, care etc from each department! I have to stay in over night which is agreed with my consultant! So while I was in a considerable amount of pain on Tuesday afternoon I did not appreciate the Matron standing at my bedside telling me I was fit to be discharged they needed my bed!!!! She doesn’t know me, she doesn’t know what I have been through and least of all she isn’t my consultant. The team were not happy the next morning when I made them aware of the situation! I have been cancelled on many times due to lack of beds so I do understand!! Trust me I wouldn’t stay any longer than needed after the length of time I have had to spend there! Please pass this onto her and just ask her to think first before approaching a patient who she doesn’t know! Thank you!! Again Swift ward staff deserve a medal for their quality of care!!!

Totally fantastic A&E attention and service, especially from (doctor) Katie, (physio) Sonja and ?Grace (radiographer). Badly bruised thigh not needing in-patient treatment, but confident that care would be excellent. A thoroughly well-run operation with superb staff.

Just got back home from my hernia operation, at Epsom Hospital. Operation went well, surgeon + anesthetist + theatre staff were fantastic and coped well with a (coward) me !! Had to end up staying the night in "Swift Ward". The service and care they provided was absolutely fantastic ! I had a nice small quiet room with it's own en-suite, very handy for the toilet. I was given a very nice evening meal, cups of tea etc. Everybody who looked after me was fantastic - thank you to Anna, Mayet, Mo, sorry as I cannot remember other names but you were all great and looked after a big old coward when it comes to hospitals and pain !! Best wishes Barry x

My family have unfortunately had the misfortune to visit Epsom Hospital A&E on two (2) occasions in the last few months - on both occasions I found the service shockingly appalling ! All staff are rude, abrupt, not interested in what you are saying & severely lacking in ‘customer service’ skills. Whilst I appreciate the NHS are incredibly stretched it should not mean you dealt with in a rushed & non interested manner - nor should you ever be asked to dress your own wound ! I would never take my family back to this A&E ever again !!!

My father had a shoulder op and they were so efficient. The nurse made us all feel important and kept us informed every step of the way. It wasn’t just the nurses but every member of staff we came across. Everyone was so helpful. Best service I have experienced in an nhs hospital so far !!

Went to A and E this morning with my daughter..the receptionist was very friendly as was the triage nurse..didn't have to wait too long to see a doctor...all the staff were very friendly and kind...my daughter had lots of tests and an x ray which was very quick and they found out what was wrong and explained it all to us and gave us advice...I was very impressed with the attention my daughter received from everyone...5* from us ????

Awful service I have been waiting almost 6 hours and they went even busy at all. When I asked the receptionist to find out how long to be called and she said next call will be you. I have been waiting and waiting, no one has called. I went back to the same receptionist to confirm again. She was very rude and you will be called. I would go to Tooting st Georges hospital than visiting this hospital. Customer service needs to be improved.

My mum has been taken to A & E twice now and both times the staff have been caring and thorough. My mum has early stage dementia and everyone from the ambulance service through to the doctors and nurses have been great with her. I admit it was a long 5 hours on Wednesday night but seeing what they had to deal with explains the wait so that isn't a complaint. My thanks to all.

This hospital was convinced my mom was okay, and told us that after 7 HOURS. 2 days later, she was in a different A and E, because she couldn't breathe properly. They told her it was just her medicine taking effect, while the other A and E in an ambulance, said she had a lot of infection in her lungs. That kind of thing doesn't develop two days.

My partner has been ill for 2 weeks, the last 2 days hasn't been able to hold down water or food and the doctor felt it was fine to let her leave with anti sickness tablets. Tablets that you have to swollow and immediately she is sick again.... No tests taken... no drip to replace fluids... Just told that they are busy and could try again in 5 hours... Can't wait to pay for an American style health service --------- Update (the next day after waiting till morning for the magic pills they prescribed): She took the pills and to my surprise she couldn't hold them down. Great one professional.nurse of many many years ????

Having been here several times as a patient, the behaviour of staff here is a mixed bag, and the waiting times are usually long. The nurses are usually busy, and while some are attentive, they tend to give you unsuitable medication and rush you into recovery mode after surgery so they can empty the bed within a day, even when you're not ready. As this is through NHS, it is kind of expected, and I'm thankful for the surgical team anyway to have a rare complication fixed here.

Been waiting about 3hrs so far, still no sign of being seen. Triage nurse didn’t even take temperature or BP, nor did he listen to anything I said. He was just in such a hurry to get back behind the desk to chat with the receptionist.

Hi . I'm not happy with the way the nurses in these hospitals are talking .. and I'm writing at this time 00.18. that I should leave the hospital for not having done my medical care at the 3-month pregnancy. I went with great pains and let me wait for 3 hours. they gave me a urine jar to keep it warm and I did not pay attention to this hospital so it does not deserve a star ... if we have the little children so we are waiting. I say that I have a 9-year-old girl and so they did ... I thought they had urgency but they had no medical emergency ..... a very poor hospital ...

What fantastic service. From attending the local doctors and put on a 2 week pathway. He was rung up, given a date for a telephone assessment. A few days later he was given an MRI scan and another blood test. Two days later an appt with a specialist at Epsom for the results. All clear, but given another appt to follow up and then an appt for a few months time. We absolutely thrilled with the level of care. Thank you Epsom Hospital

My Mother in law has a blue badge if you are trying to get into the front of the hospital to access the holders parking their is a long queue back into Epsom High St so she can not park there, so knowing the problems she tried to get to her appointment by by 2 buses the 166/293 only to find that the bus company have decided to suspend services to the hospital because of roadworks/traffic, so as there was no information to this effect my 87 year old MIL missed her appointment. as its to far to walk I k. As I can use her badge to get her there I find the hospital a nightmare to get to I can queue for 1 k or try to come from Ashtead but after waiting for about 20 mins in the middle access lane trying to access the hospital and I TRIED 3 TIMES and being hooted at by other impatient drivers behind me I watched how a nurse went onto the exit part of the road and she went straight through to the Pick up point, So I tried to do the same and a non emergency ambulance blocked my path!!! I was only trying to pick up someone up at the pick up point and they had waited a long time it is chaos at the front of the hospital and not much better at the rear with Disabled spaces being used by contractors for waste earth plots. .Why at the front of the hospital can it not have a left hand lane for the car park a middle lane for people who just want to pick up relatives and a exit lane for exiting traffic Or should I buy a Helecopter to try and get my MIL to her appointment s It is pathetic that no one can sort this out David Jolly.

Care for elderly aunt in 2015 was awful. She was put on dementia ward as no beds in general. Doctors and most nurses ignored her. In 2019 was taken in again this time in AMU care was better until moved to Buckly ward. A week later after fall was taken to St George’s where they discovered Cancer in Kidney, Spine and Brain- Epsom did not look for anything just assumed old and dementia. Care at St George’s is wonderful.

I had a client brought in and he was a special need person and it took forever to get his PEG tube unblocked. Its not fair if we have to wait in line like others knowing fully well his state of health. Its not nice if so much is invested in hospitals and no attention is given to patients who have delicate issues. Please change, thanks

I’m normally treated at the Marsden and I know I shouldn’t compare as nowhere else will be as good as there, but Epsom General Hospital has made an exceptionally bad impression on me. Rude, uninterested consultant who was on her phone half the time and couldn’t be asked to do much at all. Took 10 seconds to examine me and snorted when I couldn’t remember the name of one disease I had had (hint- I’m on medication that makes me forget more easily and I did tell her that). Just a joke and a complete waste of time. I didn’t find out anything and she’s meant to be a consultant. Didn’t send me for any tests, didn’t give me any medication. Oh, one more thing: she greeted me with a snarky ‘what can I do for you my friend’ and asked insensitive questions about my children and the cancer.

12 Hours in A & E and they weren't even busy!!! Nurses spent most of there time chatting in the corridor, and not caring for the patient. Family given no information on the condition of there elderly Dad. So frustrating, ring up and ask how he is doing, told to ring back 3 times, what a joke. Plenty of staff on duty. Nobody seems to care!!!!!!!
