A shop is only as good as the staff, but downstairs I just felt uncomfortable. Maybe it's their lockdown stresses, maybe they need more sunlight, I don't know. But it wasn't an enjoyable experience so I won't be going back.

Great place, great staff and really nice varied collection of records etc. Prices are very fair, in some cases delightfully low (certainly compared to Ebay) - how about a sealed 1970s US first press of the wonderful Diga Rhythm Band for £6.99?! Too late - I leapt on that!
Highly recommended. Great for a browse (bet you don't leave empty handed) or to sell...prices or credit are really fair. Support local record stores - Flashback is an Islington GEM!

This place is fantastic - very elegant, classy, quiet building, beautifully set up. Wide range of products which you can even try, the staff is also very friendly. Calm, nice atmosphere, loved it.

Excellent music shop. They have thousands of vinyl discs of all genres in two different floors. They have a great customer service, with good experts. There are also CDs. You can consult they're web which is updated with the current items they sell, but there are three different shops in London, so you should check where the disc is.

Good selection of secondhand records. The downside is their prices are unrealistically expensive though. (average is £20+ for most LP albums) which is a bit of a rip off.

Perfect! Me and my partner spent hours there looking through and found a lot that we bought. My partner uses a wheelchair and it was not accessible to go to the basement floor. The staff was absolutely terrific as they carried my partner down the stairs and gave her a good office chair to sit in. The chair had wheels so this made it possible for me to move her around on the basement floor. Thank you so much to the whole staff for your great service! We will for sure be back here in the future.

Its a very good record shop the staff are friendly. I have shopped there for records since it opened in the 1990s.I think it may possibly be one of the best record shops in London their Essex Road shop is really good. The prices are reasonable and rare records are sold at half the price you would pay online.
No wonder they have extended and now have three shops! but the Essex Road shop in my opinion is the best Flashback branch.

More than half of the space are vinyl records, also a lot of CDs, some DVDs, books and a very few Blu-rays. There is a mixture of mostly old stuff as the shop name suggested, but also a few new releases. It depends on the artist if they have a decent selection, only a few or nothing.
Also some collectors items, but don't expect a bagain. Friendly helpfull staff. In outside boxes are not categorized movies, records and CDs for a small price, but the quality items are all inside.
Worth a try if you are looking for something specific, maybe you are lucky and they have it.

Like all second hand shops it's hit and miss one time you go there may be nothing another time it be be full of goodies, I've deffinately found some gems in the past so it's worth a look, also look in the bins outside never know what you may find. Only a small shop but selection seems ok listening decks is cool and people seemed friendly.

Super helpful when I was really really vague about a record I was looking for ("its like a punk compilation full of bands I've never heard of, I saw it here last week") and then talked me through cleaning my records and what to look for on older vinyl. They weren't patronising in any way at all, and I'll definitely be going back!
