Used to love coming here for dinner but I feel it's not the same any more. Called to book for Sunday dinner at 5pm and was told it was fully booked so we could only have a table at 4. 30pm or 7pm and we would have to leave within an hour and a half.
Arrived at 4.30pm and there were only two other small tables dining and it was pretty quiet the whole evening.
Scallops were so overcooked they were almost rock solid. Had the sea bass fillets for main, which were also overcooked. The sauce was like a school dinner bechamel (lumpy, tasteless) and had a terrible after taste. Brocollini portion was stingy (one piece), was overcooked and shrivelled and the mash took up half the plate, was unseasoned and pointless.
Don't think we will be back in a hurry.

Good food, but for some reason we end up on the worst possible table every time we visit, even though they have free tables in better positions, we end up near the waitress station. Hopefully we get a better table next time.

Nice place, nice atmosphere. Had the beef Sunday dinner there which was a little disappointing. The meat was beautiful but the veg was dry and the roast potatoes were burnt and seemed to have been reheated judging by their texture. Other than that I enjoyed it

This is a beautiful pub in a terrific location. But the food is absolutely dreadful! We were there just after 6pm on a Friday night recently. The pastry on the pie we ordered was under-cooked, raw on one edge. The vegetables were dry from being over microwaved. The 'best' burger was full of grease and the side salad a tiny sprig of dry green stuff. The chips were tasteless, when they said they were the times cooked I think they meant left overs from 2 nights ago. We were told we had the last table of the night but the place only had a few other diners. I'll never eat there again, but it's a good pub for a drink.

Mixed reviews for the Fox, but we were pleasantly surprised by the place. The service was fine and friendly even though several large groups arrived. The steak was cooked as asked, several other dishes were customize no problem. Tip:The best value pudding is the taster platter as you get loads. I would go there book first.

Very busy. Good range of drinks and food.
Always warm and inviting. A roaring fire is always on in the winter but it could do with a bit of heat near the ladies toilets as it can be chilly. Overall a great place to meet friends and family.

Warm fireplaces make for a nice atmosphere in the cooler months and the outside sitting area is very nice in summer. The food is generally very good and the service is exceptional; around when you need a refill, but not hovering. Only complaint is it can take a while to get the bill. It's like they don't want you to leave. When it comes down to it, it's one of our favourite in the area.

First visit to the fox big place very busy we all had starters and mains off the festive menus .Starters ok but not great next we all had traditional turkey dinner.Meals were Luke warm at best and the sprouts were cold one had ice in the middle sent the sprouts back and a large bowl of fresh hot ones were delivered so in all not impressed a reduction in the bill was given but it did spoil the occasion I felt it was all too rushed and quality suffered don't think we will return

My daughter chose this restaurant for her birthday meal. Having read the reviews I went with preconceived ideas. However, we were all very pleasantly relieved as the service and food was very good. Our waitress, Emma, was delightful and our food was served in good time and was hot and delicious. There was a nice atmosphere and yes, it's not the cheapest, but neither did we feel ripped off. My biggest gripe with all restaurants is the price of a glass of wine which is the same price as a good bottle but we have to tolerate that in this country - the UK should take a leaf out of Spain's book!! We will definitely return to The Quorndon Fox.

Came here with the wife and 2 friends on the 30th of April we Sat down at about 5.10 and ordered fish and chips x2 hunters chicken and a burger. The fish was very tough and to me did not Seem like Cod as described on the menu it was very grey and not a white colour as did should be. I should have said something at the time but as it was my first time there and also my friends local I did not.
All the rest of the food was fine and deserts were very nice indeed.
We will return but will definitely not have the "Cod"

Food was okay, we went in a large group and ordered and it took nearly an hour for it to get to us, two people had steaks with onion rings and they came with calamari instead but the host was more than happy to exchange. My dish was a pie and it had a whole carrot to accompany it and it was undercooked and cold. Also the radiator in the room was apparently broken and it was absolutely boiling and it was a very hot day- plus the radiator was stuck on! we also tried to open some windows but they were all sealed shut which wasn't ideal.

Great place for drink and food. Really quaint but posh in a way. Great for a date or meeting with friends and family. Bar service can sometimes be slow but it was Xmas time and the staff were playing with decorations which might have bee why. Some really nice cosy seating areas available and the food is amazing.
