Good pub, decent selection of ales, but they need to turn the heating on in winter.

Drinks expensive but near to the purple playhouse. They know they have a captive audience as it's not that near to any other pubs .. wouldn't go again.

Good range of beers, but the food for the Sunday roast was reheated rather than fresh.

Nice big pub plenty of seats. could do with sorting out the sound system though. it's just loud without any clarity. I worked in the festival industry and it's all about clarity. I lost my voice shouting at my friends all night.

Probably my second favourite pub in Brighton. This is a great place to come in the summer since it was refurbed a few years ago, and now has an amazing outside back area, good food, and sunny front area. Great beers, not toooo pricey either. Staff are nice and accommodating too, had my engagement drinks here and practically took over a third of the pub!

Big, busy pub, big beer garden, mixed crowd. Pricey special ales and lagers, but they do have a loyalty card for regulars.

Banging veggie roasts. Sorted my hangover out completely. Relaxed atmosphere, so much so I had a little snooze once the food coma hit me.

Didn't have the only drink I use ...Bailey's and at this time of year its a surprise. Staff were okay it took a while for me to get served not only that others were served before me even though I came in before them 3 people on the bar in a in a whole there was twenty customers maximum then in had to wait 10 min at least to get served this is not okay ...

One of the more friendly pubs in Brighton, feels like a proper local, but without the creepy old dudes. Good prices and a decent selection of drinks plus a nice youngish crowd that means it's always got a bit of life in it

Great local pub with a wide variety of beer and other drinks. The food is good but not so good that it should warrant some of the prices. Downside is the price it’s fairly expensive when compared to pubs of similar standing for both food and drink. The general atmosphere is relaxed and the place has plenty of seating and a comfortable beer garden.

Very good burger although no chips with it which is a bit rubbish. Chips good but expensive (pushes it to almost £15 fo4 burger and chips) and the gravy was very poor for a quid, really watery bisto. Obviously I am English though so haven't mentioned this to them so they haven't had the opportunity to rectify ;) overall still good though and recommended.

I used to frequently pop in here for the 241 burgers on selected days, some nibbles or just a cheeky drink. Its just your average pub but with lots of seating inside and out - in the summer this place gets lots of sun and a pleasure to sit in the beer garden. The reason for 3 stars is that although the staff are very friendly, they are also very slow.. I've been ignored for a while on a few occasions even when they are not busy, just so they can finish a conversation between themselves. The food also used to be great but a change of franchise in the kitchen has meant it's now pretty mediocre and contains a lot of fried dishes, which is a shame. In addition, this used to be a place I'd visit frequently with colleagues for birthdays, promotions, leaving do's etc. But it's just felt more and more unclean as time has gone on, it feels a quite dirty which you don't expect from a pub these days, the smell from the men's toilets gets stronger every visit and the floor is often sticky even on a Tuesday afternoon. The decor is very tired and needs a good revamp! A plus side is they offer a Seven Dials Workers discount which gets you money off selected drinks if you work in the area.
