Here the prices of the mercansies, are at very affordable prices and,as I said earlier there is ,for those who must do the shopping, the embarrassment of choice.

Is this still Europe's largest covered market, even after the recent adjustments? It doesn't really matter. The produce is fresh, the prices are excellent and there is a great character to the place, which is enhanced by these developments.

Awful.It's looking very shabby now.The indoor market is nice with good quality food but bad idea attaching it to such an iconic building.A new market centre should have been built a long time ago very similar to Sheffield's.Belgrave Gate between the bus and coach stations would be a good location on the old cinema site. The Corn Exchange could be the centrepiece to a nice open space something which central Leicester is short of.If the market is to stay there let's have temporary stalls.

We visited on a Saturday and we were very impressed with the fruit and veg displays. Not only the way they were displayed but also the quality and variety. Seen some comments suggesting a new location, but why....it's exactly where a traditional market should be. Overall, a very impressive city centre.

Leicester market was one of my favourite place to shop for fruits and vegetables. Since leaving Leicester I returned to the market after almost 10 years, but still it has the old buzz somewhat bit muted. The sound of vendors shouting "pound a ball... pound a ball" sounds familiar...
