Great for fresh fruit and veg. It's diverse including clothing, electrical, 2nd hand goods and material. I was there to buy material/cloth at very reasonable rates from a trader who's been there 40 years. He can tell you tales of the history if you want.

Interesting place.Fruit and Vegetables stalls, one or two Sweet's stalls.Sometimes only a handfull of stalls are there.Lots of shops are there.Cash only.Parking is in car parks.

One of the oldest markets in Britain. Still hear the calls for fresh fruit....get your potatoes etc. Colourful wares and characters. Love it ❤️

Interesting unique vegetable and fruit open market. Price is cheap and mostly £1/bowl but sometimes quality is not great. Fish and meat market inside provides good choice of butchers and quality products.

If you want fresh and the best fruits and vegetables at very low price then this the best place to go for. The only disadvantage of this place is that you need to bring cash with you as card payment is not available here.

It's a lovely place with great stalls, however 3 stars as there are a lot of problems around with not very nice people and very little is done to ensure the market is safer than usual. Not their fault, but it would be nice to have some enforcement. Also, I've come across a fair few rude market owners.

Leics city is at least 20years behind the rest of the country what's to recommend bus services don't run till 9o'clock plus on Sundays so family day out is out of the question supermarkets don't open till 11am either so a late dinner is a must oh and best of all no car no transport to work and back if you work shifts cos buses don't start till after 6am shift start and finish by 10pm so you can't get home hence no industry investment cos nobody to man the machinery and as for the council oh please let me use WORDS of I'll repute cos that's the only way to describe 'it' " them" or whatever they are amen p.s as usual people might agree but can't do nowt about it r.i.p leics

Excellent outdoor but under cover fruit and veg market with a varied assortment of value for money quality fruit and veg. Friendly stall holders. Busy place right in the centre of the city. Along the edges were a small assortment of other stalls including cards luggage and habberdashery. Carpets and electronics.

Sadly Leicester is slowly shrinking from the largest market that it was a few years ago, but still very worth a visit. One of the few places with s great selection of fruit veg, and a fish and meat market too.

Always a great selection of fruit & veg on sale, stalls selling other non-food items can vary depending on the day / time of year. A very good permanent electrical accessories shop is present as well as Moorgate Silks an excellent dried & silk flower shop.

A gem in the heart of Leicester. The outdoor area is very popular and extremely well-stocked. Tasty and fresh fruits, vegetables (exotic ones included) can be purchased at very reasonable prices. The outdoor area also includes stocking of furniture and household items. The indoor area is perfect to purchase delicious and affordable meats, poultries and seafood.
