The only reason i am using this company is because the apt i am in wouldn't let us use something else. Their internet upload speed is ridiculous at that price to start with. The download's actually speed is a rip off on the other hand. Not sure why my apt is using this service but i must say its insane.

We went to talk to them about upgrading our internet service and they were extremely rude towards us. Also their service is completely awful. Internet ping is bad and inconsistent, and the prices are outrageous. 50$ + 10$ of surprise fees per month gets you 20mps here were in Bemidji you can get 500mps of actually reliable internet for that same price! I don't know why this company has such a strong foot hold in Mankato.

Absolutely disturbing that this company can actually promote themselves a reliable internet service provider. 20mbps DL / 1mbps UL ACTUALLY = 3.5 / 0. And that’s directly plugged in with an Ethernet cable an hour after the technician left. He somehow magically comes up with 18mbps while he’s here then the second he leaves POOF back to 3! It’s a complete scam. $50 literally wasted every month. Multiple technicians, several different modems and routers, brand new computers. Absolutely garbage speeds and little to no explanation. Unfortunately there is no other option for me where I live. I’d much rather have Charter any day.

NOT HickoryTech Quality, or Even Eventis Quality Now. Now that it's Consolidated Communications, you don't get local, helpful people on the phone, you get randoms from Texas & elsewhere that spend more time verifying your address than addressing the issue, & every single call to the "Help" side, they imply that the problem is somehow either our fault, or we're too stupid to understand how a digital box works. Being that the guy didn't know what "digitizing" meant & had to be given a full description of what "freezing" is, I question where they get their CSR's. The last tech guy who was out here less than a month ago replaced our box (I'm guessing with another used one, & yet it's something we've somehow done to it each time we get an already used, half-dead box??) & ever since install, we've had problems with it digitizing/freezing multiple times every single DVR'd program. Then they have a "little" scheduling conflict which pushes our appointment from ALL day Monday (which they notify you of at 8:50 on Monday, AFTER you've cleared your schedule already to sit home, which is why you called LAST WEEK to begin with) out until Wednesday (which is not clear...at all). Since the issue isn't that serious, I could roll with it, except for the fact that we've already done this song & dance a few weeks ago when the box was replaced, &, moving from Monday to Wednesday is more than a "little" scheduling conflict, so be frigging HONEST; someone screwed up last week, and/or my issue isn't a priority repair. We'll see if they manage to keep that appointment around my schedule that day. It'll be the 3rd day in one month then (counting today, since they're unable to come out) that we've rearranged/paused our schedule for them, & they will NEVER offer compensation for cable issues or rescheduling issues. They get $140 out of us per month, & yet, quality is not as good as the two previous companies offered, & all "Consolidated" really means is that Customer Service is no longer local...

I normally dont write reviews but this has got to be the most unreliable internet I have ever used. More than once has the connection been almost unusable while I was working on online assignments. If you rely on the internet at all on a daily basis to do work do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I recently had my service switched to Consolidated as they purchased my original ISP Enventis. Overnight, download and upload speeds dropped by over half. Typical ISP throttling, and shaping network traffic to lower the demand on their servers and up their profits. Don't worry though, as their nice customer service reps tell you, if you'd like you can upgrade to a better package and receive better download speeds, for a price.

Their customer service has been acceptable, but the Internet service and speeds are aweful. The fact that I'm paying more than I did for slower speeds irritates me to no end. I would have subscribed to charter again if my rental building didn't have an exclusive contract with CC. FML

Worst internet provider, extremely over priced and how do you not have call support open 24/7. Every other cable/internet provider does. For Quarters they want to charge another $20 a month just to go from 10 download to 20.. Consolidated: 20mbs down, 1mb up $44.99 Charter: 60mbs down, 4mbs up $44.99

55 dollars a month for 20 Mbps but really don't expect to ever get over 18 and expect to get 14-16. Should have never left charter, 40 dollars a month for 70 Mbps. To be honest not sure why we even considered switching. The twin cities area this internet doesn't exist for this kind of outrageous price for the inconsistency and low speeds. Should be 1 dollar per Mbps at the high end price for this low end company. Update 11/1 by far worst internet company I have ever had. If you have roommates don't even consider this company. Little to no bandwidth.

Worst internet and cable service I have had in my 22 years of life. Had it once back in 2013 when it was still Hickory Tech and it was horrible. Now the new place we moved into, Consolidated Communications is the only line out here, and it's same old same old. Internet cuts in and out daily, TV is choppy and frequently cuts to black. Cannot reiterate enough, worst cable and internet service I have ever had.

wish I could have rated at zero stars. Spotty internet service at best and they have relatively no support line if you need to call and talk to them. The internet speeds are not even close to what they say they are supposed to be. I am supposed to have 20mbs which is "their best package" apparently and on a good day, I might max out at about 600 kbs. If you want to do anything on the internet, you're screwed. Hell, I had to tether to my phone just to write this review. Don't waste your money for this dial-up trash.

Same problem here at Woodside Apartments. We pay $50 for internet that barely works most of the time. And Consolidated is the ONLY provider out here, so we have no choice in the matter, you're basically stuck paying for bad service. I paid half the price previously at Charter and never had ANY problems. Soon after switching over, now paying double and getting no where near the speed, customer service or reliability as they so proudly advertise. FALSE ADVERTISING! Not to mention the condescending customer service and lack of flexible appointment times. Not everyone has super flexible jobs where they can ask off an ENTIRE DAY of work, just so the technician can show up sometime between 12-5pm. Come on, that's asking an awful lot of the customer after you're already overcharging them for something worth half the price you charge. UPDATE: Multiple tornado touchdowns in the area. Good to know Consolidated internet takes about a good 30 seconds to load any given web page. Don't even try to view the radar, because their internet can't even handle that. Pretty sad I can't rely on the service I PAY FOR to view the weather in the area. Especially when my family's safety is involved. UPDATE: Checked my speed yesterday. It's been at 2.38mbps for quite a while now (they advertise 20mbps). If your thinking of getting Consolidated, don't. This company will lie, cheat and steal from customers. They are perfectly okay with their customers having barely functional services, as long as you are getting service. I want this company to prove me wrong. I want to see that they care about their customers, but time and time again they show me they do not.

Terrible ISP. The maximum internet speed is 20 Mbps, which sounds acceptable, but the internet cuts out periodically for about a minute up to a few minutes multiple times per week. The TV gets choppy every once in a while on a daily basis too. The only reason I have this provider is because our location is contracted with them and I have no option. If you have a brain in your head, DO NOT get this provider. No matter how bad you think your current provider is, this one will be worse.

Here is a suggestion Consolidated Communications. When you see that your company is rate less than 2 stars, you gotta fix something. Instead of charging us way too much money for terrible internet service, and not helping at all, you need to actually try and do something. My internet will completely stop working at random times, and the mbs is complete garbage. Please listen to me and try to do something.

predictable. over the years I have had declining experiences with this company. WAY back when I first got internet hooked up in this house (15 years ago) I had terrific service. I never had problems with my internet until Hickorytech sold to Enventis and then to Consolidated Communications. I call customer service only after resetting everything to eliminate those issues and then go from there. 100% of the time the trouble I have had with unstable internet has been a problem with their end. This morning I did the reset shtick and then called. after asking if there were any repairs going on this morning that might explain the trouble the customer service rep asked me a couple of questions about the blinking and/or steady lights on the modem, said he checked the line from his end and now everything is working great again! I didn't do a freaking thing. the rep was very kind at least he didn't IT Crowd me. (because I had already turned it off and on again) Their end problem... again. I suspect the technician fixed a problem on their end of things and of course will not say - just like last year when I had an entire morning dedicated to getting the internet back on line because my kids had assignments due that had to be turned in online... I was told that a tech was going to be coming out to fix the problem and so I waited for a few more hours, discovered that internet was working again so called to cancel the tech. they had found the problem (oh yeah, on their end) and fixed it and didn't bother to let me know that they were no longer coming. so when I next have a problem I'm sure it will be on their end I will give them a 2 star rating just because 3 is a little too good. when it works it works great but when it acts up (every several months) it is maddeningly frustrating and nothing I can do to fix it - it's always their end.

I wish I could give this company 0 stars. The internet is always lagging or not working. My boyfriend pays $46 a month for 26 Mbps and gets a whopping 2.53 Mbps. Absolute garbage product. We get 3 mb/s a second of our 9 mb/s internet with high latency and packet loss. Customer service is absolutely terrible and can't figure out how to better assist you even when you directly tell them what you want done. We tried to upgrade our speed through them and it took them three weeks to get back to us after we tried multiple times to get ahold of them. We were told it would take three days to upgrade it and didn't need a tech. They never upgraded our internet and when asked why we were told "because you cancelled your internet". When I explained the actual situation the guy responded with "well that's what I said". This company doesn't give a rats ass about its customers and I have a hard time believing they can even exist.

So happy I cut the excessive "basic" choice 5 cable. I still have internet though them but am getting nowhere near the 20mb speed I am paying for. They say the speed test check out so it isn't their fault, but the issue isn't the max speed its the consistency. Streaming Netflix or SlingTV and the stupid thing needs to stop to buffer because the internet stopped working or just couldn't keep up. Really? All the time? You give speed tests the highest priority so you can deny our complaints, then say that you only promise 75% of what we are paying for. Should I pay 75% of what I signed up for then? Any time the network gets bogged down they should keep track of it and subtract that time from our bill since that it their fault for not having the infrastructure to handle what they promise. Called customer service when my router went out, got a voice that sounded heavily digitized and spoke in too perfect English that sounded unnatural. So either someone was being a pretentious prick on the phone or they were using translation/accent correcting software so it doesn't sound like their service center is out sourced. That to me is way more of an insult than just leaving it the way it is. I commented on it to the guy and he said "I assure you this is how my voice sounds." So either a prick or a liar. Can't believe I'm stuck with these clowns. Talked to a buddy in Duluth and he gets double the speeds at a lower price. Apparently that's normal for them up there since their company isn't crap. Ladies that handle the customer service tend to be stuck up too. They try to control the conversation rather than listening to you and get pissy when you don't want to follow their exact process. Why do I need to give you all my account info to ask questions about how the moving process works? Then you tell me there will be a fee? When I was first signing up I specifically asked about moving while under contract (before signing) and you didn't tell me about the fee. Didn't know I had to be as cautious with cable companies as you do with used car salesmen.

Hickory Tech - Enventis - Consolidated Communications is the bottom choice of Internet service providers. The prices are not that competitive to compensate for it as well. Often times I receive a very inconsistent internet experience. The best upload speed you can purchase is 2Mbps down and that is consistent on all if there available packages, so don't think if you purchase a higher download package your experience might be better. I am expressing my self as an every day average user who streams media content. i.e. Netflix, Hulu, Plex. I as well have done extensive trouble shooting, that eats up my valuable time, just to be confident the issue was on their end. I am an I.T. professional, so please take my review with confidence. I am raising my original one star to two stars, because the customer service and tech support was very friendly and kind.

UPDATE**** ZERO STARS!!! It was another 2 DAYS before anyone came out to my house when i posted my previous review. The repair tech told me my internet would be "faster, and more reliable" after dropping off a modem, literally just dropped it off and left. quite the opposite though as it took 20 minutes to watch a 3 minute video. Internet went 30 minutes ago, again, did basic restarting then gave up and called tech. Tech was completely worthless. The guy spent 25 minutes researching a problem that didnt exist because he read something wrong. Then, told me someone would come and promptly ended the call. What is that???? How is this place even open? So now, i have no internet, again, for days. Absolutely ridiculous. Too bad zero stars isnt an option, If I had any other internet provider option I would immediately take it. Horrible download speeds, everything in my house needs to be hooked up directly to the router because everythings unwatchable otherwise. Internet went out early yesterday afternoon, called immediately after doing standard reset protocols, spent 30 minutes on the phone with Tech, told me they would have someone come out "tomorrow afternoon", Very frustrating as I don't have cable and I use my computer, phone, and PS4 nearly all day. Well 2pm rolls around, no ones here, 4pm no sign of anyone, i call at 5p to see when someone would come out. Sat on HOLD for 45 minutes to be told, "someone may or may not be come out today" and they would call me, two hours later i get a call "sorry no one can come out today, tomorrow someone will". VERY FRUSTRATED!!!

12/2/2017 I had Mark come out to my home and fix my internet connectivity issues within minutes! We had a gopher in our yard chew through our old telephone line that century link didn't even bother to upgrade for us. I was able to switch to these guys because they really give a professional service the next day, and not some time next week. I was able to drive to their office in oldtown Mankato and talk to a real person, and pick up my modem to install myself. I am a very satisfied customer. Thank you for your service! Dear Enventice, your QoS is utter garbage. Be warned that If you decide to go with this ISP, prepare to encounter dsl problems on an intermittent basis. Tech support will continue to write off your issues and concerns regarding their lines that run from the area block switch to your modem. On a good day you can expect 20 percent packet loss with latency in 150ms range to a server on the west coast. I can deal with that, however it is frustrating when techs refuse to consider the possibility that there might be a mechanical issue with their setup in your area. My advice is to keep calling them. Eventually you might get someone who files a ticket EDIT: I have continued to call Consolidated Communications... After bugging them for many weeks, they finally broke down and sent a service guy to look at the switch for the block in our neighborhood. They found a faulty network device that was causing poor, intermittent service problems. I have not had problems since, and I am very satisfied with the latency I experience compared to other ISPs in my area

BUYER BEWARE: Edit: 3 Months, No Changes. It took them 3 months to even send us a bill. When we called they were having internet problems in their own office, so we should have recognized the problem right away. The past two days we have had internet available for 30 seconds on, 10 seconds off. Have tries DNS flushing, adapter resets, and power cycling the modem. Can't even post this review right now because it's down again. I will consider changing this rating when service is not so abysmal. There will be some capitalization to emphasize the significance. We have had our internet for about 4 days now. We paid for a package described to me as a guarantee for higher speeds. In advance, speeds are based on average download speed (Mbps or Megabits per second). I returned today and connected. Now, 8 speed tests later in a 3 hour span, and I am getting a download speed result between 0.4 Mbps and 19 Mbps. The past three have been around 2.0, one was about 14.0, two were about 17 and 19 Mbps, and one was 0.4. The national average in 2015 (over a YEAR ago) was over 39.0 Mbps. The importance of that timespan is that between 2014 and 2015, the average jumped by 10 Mbps from 29 to over 39. It's been another full year. Digressing, I currently have between one TWENTIETH and one HALF (one time) of the national average speed from LAST YEAR. Four of these tests have been via a brand new N-Band wireless adapter directly above our modem-router combo. Three others (so far) have been via my laptop directly connected with an Ethernet cable.

I don't even know where to begin. Usually, I don't take the time to write reviews, but I felt this one was necessary. Customer Service: 0/5 Every time that I have spoken with a customer service representative, it has been an unpleasant experience. They speak in a very condescending tone as well as make me feel as I'm a lesser person for not knowing why my internet is down. I believe that a proper customer service training would truly benefit the businesses employees as their poor service seems to be a trend. Internet: 0/5 During the day my wifi is pretty decent. Around 16 megabits...at night though, it dips and goes down to as low as .04 megabits, which is ridiculous. I feel as if I'm cheated of my money and if I had a choice I would never run through consolidated again. The place I live must have a contract through them because we aren't allowed to have Charter. TV: 4/5 I don't have any complaints about the tv service. It's rather expensive to have non-HD channels, but I don't watch tv that often, so it's not a huge deal. You can only wonder why this business is not part of the BBB (the better business bureau). I'm extremely disappointed to be paying the same amount as I would for Charter, but three times less the Internet speeds. The least they could do is have a nice customer service rep. to help calm me down instead of making me feel even worse.

I haven't even had Envitis(Consolidated Communications) for a year and it was the worst cable service I've ever had. The internet would often disconnect and I would have to reset the internet box, the DVR would be set to record a show and would not record the show, so it was very frustrating when I wanted to watch a show and go to play it only to see that it didn't record. To top it all off it was very expensive. I do not recommend this company and if I could give it 0 stars I would. Very disappointed!

Hickory Tech, Enventis, Consolidated Communications, whatever your name is I really can't recommend your service to anybody. Not only were you willing to give out my personal information to copyright trolls but you also shut off my service several times due to their claims. This alone is unforgivable and enough for a 1 star review but it gets worse. I had the same issues as many others with the internet as well where I had to reset my modem several times per month in order to keep the internet running. This issue seems to have subsided for now but the cable service also has its own set of issues. The DVR is impossible to run and when I set up a recording I can only cross my fingers and hope it actually records. My TV in my garage has horrible picture quality and cuts out and freezes constantly to the point where it is unwatchable. I only have cable and internet so I can't really comment on their phone service. I would like to support the local company but they need to earn my service. Fortunately I do have alternatives, for those that don't, best of luck.

I used to have charter and for $30 a month I was getting anywhere from 36-40 mbps. Even though they advertised 30 mbps. I love them. With this trash that should be called dial up. I'm paying $50 for 5-8 mbps tops. Even though they advertised at 20 mbps. Most of the time Netflix buffers or stops and you have to reset it give up. Good luck trying to do something important like homework. Your Internet will randomly shut off. The only reason I have them is because the apartment I live in has an exclusive contract with them. Otherwise I would be with someone else.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Hands down the worst internet in Mankato. But the only one my area will work with. It's almost the exact same as not having internet at all. The internet connection never works. Constantly resetting at LEAST a couple times A DAY. And now seeing that I'm not the only one with this issue, and that EVERYONE has this issue. It's a damn shame to see that CC isn't doing a thing to make their 2 star review go up. From your customer service right down to the internet (we don't have cable, thank goodness.) this is the worst company I've had to go through.
