Terrible meal, couldn’t eat it, wasn’t changed obviously because I couldn’t eat it, no apology, still spent a lot of money in the place but total lack of customer service.

A delightful, full-English breakfast in a comfortable and charming establishment, hosted by pleasant staff whom were most gracious not to judge my ordering of alcohol at ten o'clock in the morning! A fine range of beers and cocktails, accompanied by a delicious liquer coffée summarized my meal as the "Breakfast of Kings". Whilst the price may seem, arguably, expensive to some, the way I see it: you get what you pay for!

Great full English breakfast. Delicious coffee. Good service - and overall, a cool place.

Over rated totally. Food appalling. It's about the place. Not food or staff. Pretentious. Complete waste of money. Get your act together quick !

Amazing food with a great atmosphere and great staff the only reason I've not attend it as a 5 is the tables can be cramped when it's busy.

It's always a pleasure to find an excuse to go to Goodliffes, they have a great atmosphere in a light, airy, building packed with character. The menu is fresh and flavoursome and always great quality. It's also perfect for a coffee, they easily have the best coffee in town. Located on Churchgate, a lovely boutique-lined street in Loughborough, you can get anything from quirky antiques to a Chiropractic adjustment. No better place to rest and soak up some ye'olde Loughborough charm than Goodliffes!!

It's a lovely cafe bar but is always let down by the slow service which is constant. The sight of lots of dirty crockery on the bar by the till was not good. If they could improve the service it would transform the experience and s higher star rating

Went here for breakfast and I had the goodliffes breakfast and fresh orange juice both of which I can recommend best yummy brekkie I have ever had would go their instead McDonald's or Subway. So much better than anywhere else (even llyods) Someone who I was there with also enjoyed the vegitrian medatranian breakfast. The coffee was apparently good too. Would strongly recommend that you check this place out 10% off your bill here with Loyalfree app or love Loughborough Card

This place is an absolute hidden gem I say hidden because nobody seems to know it's there and up until last week neither did I, I do now and can't recommend it highly enough. It popped up on Google maps as a recommendation for me biased on other places I'd been so tried it out as it looked nice and all the reviews seemed to agree. We went on a Thursday night and had booked a table but on arrival realised that wasn't necessary, when you see an empty restaurant you wonder if you've made a mistake but as we found out no, no we hadn't. The waitress greeted us and showed us to a table, she was really pleasant and polite as was the only other staff member we saw that night who spent most the time behind the bar but also came out to take orders and help waite the table so we all got our meals together. The food.....well what can I say, the starters were all delightful and I can personally highly recommend the soup, served with the most amazing bread full of seed and cranberries giving it a savoury and sweet taste. I should have written this review earlier as I can't remember what everyone else had but they all said it was good. As for the main dishes well I can genuinely say hand on heart it was some of the finest food we had all eaten for as long as we can remember, between the five of us we had fish, lamb, chicken, steak and beef dishes and every single one was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. I had the fish, a grilled smoked haddock fillet with Colcannon mashed potato, poached hens egg, English mustard & parsley cream sauce, smoked bacon crisp......the entire dish was amazing and the cream sauce to die for. As we were there for my mother inlaws birthday we took a cake and so missed out on the dessert menu but we will be back to settle that matter. I was torn while writing this review as one side of me wants to keep this place quiet so we will always be able to get a table but on the other I don't want it to disappear because nobody goes...... If I go somewhere and have a terrible time I will be honest in a review and tell them why, here I can genuinely not think of one bad thing to say, even the bill was a surprise as we expected it to be much more. So nice decor, lovely staff, fantastic food and all at a reasonable price...go on treat yourself.

Kitchen service lets this Bistro down. We visited for lunch and the food was nicely cooked and presented. However we had a forty minute wait for the food and noticed at least two other tables who were experiencing similar problems.

Very nice location, decor and ambience. However I've been disappointed on a couple of occasions now by the quality of the food, drinks and staffing. The tapas was very disappointing and I've had a luke warm (at best) Irish coffee delivered. The table staff seem to mostly be young university students so they're just trying to get through their shift.

Lovely food, we had a brunch that was really yummy in a comfortable setting with friendly helpful staff. Recently we had a meal, I had duck in blackberry sauce and although it was nice, I did find the sauce to be overcooked almost burnt giving it a not very nice tarty taste!

We ordered fish and chips: the batter on the fish had been cooked so badly that the fish looked like deformed leather shoes: there wasn't much fish either - once you went beyond the burnt batter . The chunky chips weren't particularly tasty: why don't they use proper chips? DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY The steak was quite tasty, but for the amount paid - there wasn't much of it. In fact, along with the steak you got two bits of tomato, two mushrooms, a little bit of watercress and about eight small chunky chips. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Half a glass of 'house white wine' costs £3.95 - judge for yourself if it's too expensive. The staff were friendly, the environment, if you are sitting near the window, is quite nice. The cloth on the chairs was stained and dirty looking. The tap in the men's toilet is loose - fix it. The other tap doesn't work. The place has a tired appearance and drastically needs a revamp. THIS PLACE IS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT - IT HAD BETTER IMPROVE THE QUANTITY & THE QUALITY OF ITS FOOD.

The second time I have visited this place and it wont be my last! Having previously been for breakfast, me and my partner decided to try a Saturday evening, and we were not disappointed! On arrival, it was very busy, but straight away we were shown to our table. On our table was a table card with some special cocktails - nice touch! I ordered a Lemon Blossom, it was delightful. The food was fantastic, cooked to perfection! It was nice, as different from the high street chains. We will definitely be returning, already booked in for the five course Spanish tasting meal next month!
