Plenty of food. ALL really hot still. Really good flavours and quality ingredients by the feel and taste of it.
Delivery took an hour to Woodingdean - so what? Be patient! It's WELL worth it. Ordered from them directly rather than through Deliveroo.

Where do I start... Oh my god these guys are sooo annoying. Me and my friends ordered the buffet meals cos we were really hungry and the food was already subpar to say it lightly. Then I found hair in my food. After raising it with the waiter, the waiter went and brought me a new plate which was still as cold and dry as the last. When I asked what was going to happen about the hair in my food I was then informed that they would take no further action and that the chef would still not wear a hair net. I asked for a full refund which was not provided to me. I then found out from my friend who is Bengali that the chef (who was also the owner) had told them not to serve me and my other friends anymore. So not only had I been served hair in my food but THEY STOPPED MY ALL YOU CAN EAT AFTER ONE PLATE!!!! So not only did they not give me a full refund but I paid for a buffet but only got 1 meal. Planning to raise this with the food standards agency but I suggest that no one goes here. You never know what other poison they’ll add to your food. P.S. their water tastes like garbage.

Don't under estimate this place. We've ordered takeaway twice and it's simply the best Indian I've ever had! We tried different curries and they do not disappoint at all! Flavourful, distinctive different flavours for different curries. Go for the fish, don't be shy, it's gorgeous. Generous portions with affordable prices. Definitely caters for authenticity. I hate Indians where the different curries are really not different at all. They just put slightly different meats and veg, sweeter or spicier but the sauce base always taste the same. Also usually too sweet as well. We've bookmarked this place to return to again and again! Super chef!

Would NOT recommend. Myself and my partner had a delivery from here last month and the food came cold and small portion sizes. The delivery time was 1hr 15minutes. Disappointed to say the least.

Cooked well, spices were used well and heat didn't overpower flavor. Really nice curry!
Only problem was that staff seemed to be over-working, service was ok but some drinks were forgotten about, understandable as it was really busy. Felt for the waiters because they were rushing around, could have done with one more waiter to give the other guys support and make the restaurant feel less frantic.

Food is hit or miss, most of the time it arrives cold and considering we live pretty much on the same road it is unacceptable. Several times we have had items missing from our order. Have had chavs delivering food playing loud music from they’re car and being loud and disrespectful. Ordered online and was telephoned back to be told there was no delivery driver and to contact the bank to get money back. Time waiting for them to confirm order is ridiculous have also had them send confirmation of order received for nothing to arrive and no one to answer the telephone. Tonight will be the last time we order from brinjals... food has nice flavours and when is hot can be very nice and price is more than reasonable. Such a shame. Another customer lost

Never had a bad curry from Brinjals since started using 2 years ago. They use top quality chicken and ingredients the same as goes into their restaurant food, and not the water churned rubbery tasteless budget stuff that many Indian takeaways choose to use these days

Unfortunately I can't give zero, and even that would have been generous. Waited 2 hours for awful, tasteless, cold food. I wish I'd read the other reviews before I ordered, I just thought I'd try somewhere different. I don't know why I did!
This place should not be allowed to continue operating. Absolutely disgusted and angry. Total waste of money. Also I tried to ring a number of times to find out where my order was. It is constantly engaged, presumably with either complaints or the phone is off the hook. If so I can understand why!

Food is good, but I have complained. They play music late at night every evening. It bothers young people and us all. We are always neighbors. This is more uncomfortable with them all of us. They are constantly calling Egypt until two and three o'clock at night and disturbing people.

This was the worst meal of my life not even kidding. Food was stone cold, had to wait over an hour for the delivery and I only live 5 min away. Delivery driver was rude, and wanted me to come down in the lift to collect my food, I refused, then didn't say one word to me at the door. You guys need to get a grip on reality I hope you get closed. In fact I hope to get you guys closed down for serving dangerous food. so expect to see health and hygiene turning up on your door. Can't express my anger. I'm a chef and I'm disgusted by your restaurant. Complete waste of money.

I ordered from here at 6:45, it said it would be delivered at 7:55, it got 8 I messaged deliveroo they called the store and I was told BY DELIVEROO, not even Brinjals themselves, that my order had been cancelled because they ran out of ingredients and Brinjals didn’t think to alert anyone

We have only ordered delivery but my word the last 3 curries have been just gorgeous. We're pescatarian so the range of vegetables available is first class. Saag paneer and sag balti have been delicious. Its our lockdown treat on a Saturday night.. Bravo Brinjals, keep up the good work ????????

They don't take cards and you have to bring your own Cobras. Trust Gavin to find a place like that. He always does. I always thought places like this make most of their money out of alcohol sales. Whatever. They appear to be paying rent and electricity. Curry was 1 notch above microwave supermarket. A good slap dash place like this is 2. I cook 3 at home with fresh ingredients and a book. Go get 'em tigers you'll be acing TripAdvisor soon.
The view outside the restaurant is divine and makes the most of a derilict plot of land on the other side of the road dressed in plywood shuttering and covered in graffiti. If you need to make your food taste better add lots of salt and oil. Everyone likes that. At least until they get home.

I placed an order online and waited two hours. We then called about 5 times and were told repeatedly that it was 10 minutes away. The last time I called, they hung up on me. Now we have waited three hours, Brinjals have marked our order as delivered, and they won’t pick up the phone. Obviously they still have our money. Avoid

Great staff with profound knowledge of their curries and wow they taste amazing. The takeaways seem to be busy due to high demand (only shows how delicious the food is) but is always worth the wait. I had a Lamb Bhuna recommended by staff, no words to describe it but perfect. Thanks brinjals team.

One of the hidden gems for a curry. The staff are outstandingly helpful, friendly and patient. The service is excellent. One of the nicest curry dens. The food is outstanding authentic and traditional. Curry how its supposed to be made at home......! You want a perfect curry cooked the way it should be. This is the place.

Just enjoyed another delicious visit to this place. Excellent food, friendly, helpful staff and it's BYO ..win win! I have found that the takeaways are not ad good ...dine in the restaurant for the best curry. Great value for money too. The king prawns are huge and always perfectly cooked.

Arrived late , to then find the vegetable curry I had ordered was actually chicken. Which is terrible considering I'm a vegetarian and have just had to bite into chicken after 10 years of not eating meat. The food was also cold due to it being late. I have now spent time re heating all the food and waiting even longer for a replacement. Which they didn't offer to refund for. They also sent me the wrong dessert. No discount , refund or voucher for next time offered, so I'm afraid there will be no next time. Avoid at all costs unless you want to make life harder and get yourself a takeaway from here. ????

After 3 hours of waiting for our food we called the restaurant, who told my girlfriend she was a liar and that they delivered it. They described the red door they dropped the food off too, just a shame our door is black. In the end it was midnight and we had no food.. Kinda funny now..

I don’t know where to start. This restaurant should get an award for having the worst customer service. I asked the guy about the buffet and I swear I felt like he was gonna slap me or something. Why would you advertise something you don’t wanna do? I sat there thinking I’m having a buffet for £11.50 and I got a £40 bill even though I told them I’m having buffet. Instead of apologising and being polite about their misleading advert, they grouped together and argue with me like some sort of gangsters or something. I felt threatened at that point and I paid my bill.
I’ve also waited literally 2 hours for my main. And I got the wrong order after all. The table was dirty, and I had to call someone to clean it. The starter is served in a hot plate, no warning whatsoever, it was chucked in front of me like some prisoner.
The whole thing seemed like a prank to me. Unfortunately it wasn’t.
Long story short. Don’t go there

Went last week to celebrate my girlfriends birthday to this restaurant. As soon as I walked in I saw their dirty looks as I have done something to them. They say it is buffet but it’s actually not a buffet. You want to order something they will tell you that it is not included in the buffet. At the end there will be just a few choices to choose from. Waiting time about two hours. Custumer service, very very rude people and angry faces. It is my first and my last to go and eat. Food comes but completely burned, cold, and raw meat served. After all this me and my girlfriend got food poisoning. Diarrhoea for a couple days.

NEEDS improvement...
Arrived Hot and had good flavours. However it took a long time to arrive which isn't the end of the world.
The tikka masala and the butter chicken was strange, as the chicken pieces were huge rather than diced and a little dry making it less satisfying to eat.
The onion bhajees were not the best I have had.
