Fantastic, innovative Indian food in a nice, atmospheric setting. Casual dining and reasonable prices for food and drink. Well worth a visit.

The food is mediocre at best, service is OK. Ambience is vibrant and the bar looks elegant. Would not recommend it for food though.

Excellent food. The momos are really good - enough so that we came back a second time just for that. The biryani was excellent as well. The service was great - our hostess was amazing and very helpful. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend.

I think the low (ish) ratings on this place is purely driven by the price. My fiancé and I went on a Friday night and had a beautiful vegetarian meal. Service was impeccable and overall value was good. I’d go to this place over Benares any day. I do think that some of the mains are pricey for Indian food, but that’s the market. If you’re looking for a dinner for 2 around £100, it’s a good option.

I walked passed this sparkling and inviting little place and decided to sample their cocktails. I ordered the rhubarb gin and tonic. The bar staff were very polite and although I didn't dine on this occasion, I will be returning to sample the dishes that have been highly recommended. The atmosphere was calm and elegant. A wonderful first visit!

Hands down, the best Indian of my life so far. Thanks to timeout and a willing friend, I was able to let my tastebuds discover this place last night and they will forever be grateful. Out of all the dishes there was only one I didn’t take too but everything else was simply delightful. I can only wish my stomach was bigger. The staff were second to none. Friendly, attentive, informative and efficient. Could not want anything more from a dining experience. I just wish I had cash on me for a tip... But I will make sure I have some for next time I visit.

Great food and exemplary service. A really incredible whisky selection too. We tried a selection of dishes between the four of us. The Guinea fowl thukpa was delicious and my first experience of an Indian noodle dish. The goat was absolutely spectacular, warming spice and beautiful cardamom flavours. Portion size was generous.

Food was awesome with tonnes of flavour that I’ve only experienced in India before. The owner and chef came and spoke to us personally to ask about our experience which I thought was a really nice touch. Overall an excellent restaurant that London should be proud to have.

6 of us went. Starters were nice. Mains disappointing. Prices did not reflect mains. Biryiani overpriced and not worth it. Staff nice. Wont be returning.

Delicious, my Indian friends were very impressed. Initially awful service, but quickly remedied when the manager took charge of our table. All in all a very enjoyable evening.

Terribly rude staff, wow! Would never experience such bad language and service from Benares or his other restaurants. Not sure how they hire these people and allow them to work in Mayfair !

Nothing to shout about. Plastic foliage a let down. Despite being empty they wanted their table in 2 hours. Food was average more heat that flavours.

Misbehaved staff. Not fit to be working in London. I will be sharing this with a few chefs and critics who work with our boss as well as the top concierge services and lifestyle management teams in London and Dubai to ensure that word gets around and their clients do not experience an ounce of this appalling service (imagine how embarrassed they would be!!). Booking made on Opentable for our boss and when we call to ask questions about the menu - a very rude lady ignores our question; doesn't even say hi; starts interrogating about when our table is and that she is going to email to take a £25 per person deposit. They are a new restaurant trying to steal £25 per person deposit, are they mad?! Not even a top restaurant in London, New York, Los Angeles does that. Sounds like they are desperate for money. But, they have a timeout deal on which is £25 per person with 6 sharing dishes to attract customers... !! She also lied and said that lasts only until 6pm on 15th Feb which is untrue, it says on timeout it is 5.30pm until late (except 14th Feb). Rude, rude people. I cannot believe such people are permitted to work in "mayfair" . No wonder my boss could not believe such a cheap deal is on offer in Mayfair... He said if they have a cheap deal like that there must eb a BIG issue. Goes to show they are struggling or they would not hire such poor quality staff but invest in higher quality, skilled staff who know how to behave.

I went here last night with some friends. It was the best Indian food I have ever had. Atul Kochhar was actually in the kitchen which was great to see. The service was super friendly and the dish similar to a buttered chicken amazing! We will be back

The food is slightly above average, most would consider Kanishka as a "special" dining experience because the menu is quirky and a little different considering the nature of its cuisine. Overall it's pretty cramped and has the feeling of being very busy and disorganised even though there's not that many people there. If you're looking for something casual and quick it's an OK choice, not one I'd recommend for a special occasion.

Great service but the food was not really memorable. With so many great Indian restaurants in London this feels over priced for what’s on offer. Cocktails from the bar were well made.

Mediocre often insipid food. Hugely overpriced. All served up by someone who really ought to know better. Avoid this place.

What an incredible evening spent at Kanishka! From the warm welcome, to the cocktails we finished the night with, it’s got to be one of the best meals we’ve ever had! I took my family there who are big fans of Atul and he did not disappoint. We started with incredible pops of flavour and texture in the form of their Indian snacks, followed by three courses of incredibly well balanced, light, fruity and aromatic Indian cuisine. Their head bartender really looked after us with perfect wine pairings and a round of their Rose Gold cocktails to finish, which had a actual gold in them! If you’re looking for an incredible Indian dining experience, then look no further and treat yourself to Kanishka.

Tikka mug masala and kulfi were amazing but the pigeon was overcooked and chewy. They also rushed us out and refused to serve us tea with our dessert because they want the table back. Sorry but it would have been 4/5 stars if not for that disappointing end.

Lovely setting with some good food, we had the chicken momos for starters, which were very nice. This was followed by our mains the Dad's Butter Chicken & the old Delhi lamb biryani, off which the butter chicken was delicious, a must on your visit really. Unfortunately the quality of the food was let down by the service, especially upon leaving the restaurant. One left with a feeling of disappointed after spending the best part of £100, one was just left to exit the restaurant without a courtesy farewell , given Atul's background of having been a part of the Oberoi Chain of hotels, must say I leave very deeply disappointed.

Pravin and his team are very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Food is first class, with a fabulous choice of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. Great choice of drinks and wine, and cocktails are delicious served by mixologist Nick. Definitely one of Atul's finest restaurants....

Top place. Dal makhni was out of world and so was kadhai paneer. I ordered butter chicken for my self but end up eating wife’s share of dal and paneer. In desserts kulfi is worth the mention it was mix of mango and pista kulfi along with dressing of rabri - worth every penny.

Sub standard food in a pricey restaurant. Also, if you happen to sit in their downstairs you are literally sharing table with someone else, its that cramped.

Atul Bhai you have outshined and outdone many Indian restaurants in town. Mind blowing food with amazing cocktails to suite all pallettes. Would love to visit soon should my travels bring me here again. Anna and Laura, managers were very great to talk and very knowledgeable about menu. Amazing service and devote. Can't sing enough praises.

I rarely say this about indian restaurants but I felt most of the food had too much of one spice or another. And I dont mean chilli. The best dishes was the chicken pie and the butter chicken. The other dishes I have had better in standard indian restaurants at half the price. A shame as I was looking forward to it. The chutney for the popadoms was really nice as well
