Took my car in for it's MOT today. Unfortunately it failed on something expected (had been advised on my previous MOT from a different garage last year) but I was very happy with the price and the service. Plus, they had it ready to go just a few hours later on a Saturday. Despite lots of negative comments, this has never been my experience here. Would recommend.

My car was booked in for a full service and mot I dropped off my car at 8:30 am and I was told the car should be ready between 1-2pm when I arrived back at the garage I was told my car had failed it’s mot on emissions and that hopefully after the service was done it might pass or need a Dpf clean surely the service should have been done first as with new air filter etc it might of passed it did pass after having some cleaner additive put in the fuel tank and a couple of light bulbs on the hi level brake light sorry but would not recommend as things seem to be done in a way I would have thought hinders passing the mot

I chose Kwik-fit because they were convenient and I could do some shopping whilst I was waiting and they were doing a discount on the tyres I wanted.
I ordered and paid for the tyres online at 9:15, dropped the car off for a 10:00 slot and left at 10:30 with the tyres fitted and a bag full of shopping from the supermarket.
Friendly and helpful staff and a competive price. Highly recommended.

Took in car for an MOT, told it had failed on two points and was quoted 300 quid for repairs. Though this seemed a bit steep (the parts only cost 40 quid) so got a second opinion from another mechanic who told me not only was the quote way overpriced, but that the work didn't even need doing.
Went back to Kwik Fit and challenged them, they agreed that one of the 'failures' didn't actually exist, and that the other was a judgement call which while it could be an advisory, it might get worse so they'd stand by thier initial judgement of a failure.
After speaking to the DVSA I took the car to an independent MOT tester - passed with an advisory on one of the issues and an otherwise clean bill of health.
I always though people were just disgruntled, but these guys are genuinely a load of scam artists! Avoid like the plague

Bunch of horrible scammers, avoid this place unless you want to be fleeced. Said brakes on car that I’d just bought were completely warped when I went for a quick tyre change, tried to get me to pay around £500 to do the job there and then, took it to a friend who is a professional mechanic instead, he showed me they were almost brand new and I’ve not had to change the discs or pads in the last 3 years which shows what cowboys they are. They drink in the pub at lunch then work on cars, they park illegally up the road on double yellows and also take up residents parking, when the traffic warden comes they move the cars for 5 mins then move them back again straight after, they leave all their litter everywhere and some of the older employees and the managers are abusive to residents if they park near the garage, they even go as far to block you in and will shout at you if you ask them them to move. Disgusting bunch, avoid and go somewhere reputable, I wouldn’t trust these cowboys with their own beaten up chavy motors, let alone a decent car

Did expect to get ripped off at a major chain, especially one that had such bad press a few years ago, but the Brighton branch is really very good - prompt, friendly, efficient; answered follow-up questions cheerily and not a sign of upselling. Only trouble is the narrow street and parking but then that's Brighton.

Took my car in for MOT. I was expecting to have to pay around £20 for a new wiper blade and side brake light bulb, other than these small issues the car was in the exact same condition as when it passed its previous MOT.
After much waiting I was presented with a litany of ridiculous supposed faults with the car. A minor dent on the edge of the front numberplate (present when I bought the car 2 years ago and never an issue until now) was one of the listed reasons for failure. "Indicator lights wrong colour" was another - the indicator bulbs have not been changed since the car was manufactured in 2006 and unsurprisingly have never been an issue at MOT since then. I somehow find it difficult to believe that they have changed colour since the last MOT. It was so staggeringly obvious that I was being ripped off, I'm amazed they manged to keep a straight face when handing me this bill.
I declined to pay for Kwik Fit's ridiculous proposed "repairs" and took my car to a Halford's a few days later. Sure enough I had to pay £22.50 for a new wiper and bulb, and the car passed its MOT.
Stay well away from this garage.

Booked my car for an aircon refill and booked it online for Newhaven only to be told when I got there I can't do it as they didn't have the correct machines and was told I need to get to Brighton instead where they had the correct machines. Brighton then informed me that I will have to pay an additional £70 for them to do it. I could of got my aircon sorted out for much less at my Nissan dealer rather than paying £130 for an aircon refill. They are complete rip off company and will never use them again and will inform my friends never to use them either

Be sure to get a second opinion before you let Kwik Fit do any work on your car.
I took my 1 Series BMW in when my break warning light came on. An hour and a half after I dropped it with them, they called me up letting me know the car needed £1500 worth of work done. This included:
- new discs on all wheels
- new break pads on all wheels
- new tyres on all wheels
I decided to take it to an independent garage to get a second opinion. The independent garage got me straight in and told me that the discs and tyres where fine and that it was only the pads that needed replacing.
I ended up only having to spend £220 instead of the £1500 Kwik Fit quoted me.

Avoid like the plague, I have just spoken to a man on the phone who tried to rip me off on a replacement alternator, he said he would not be able to find an alternator with my reg plate number and model of the car.
I laughed and told him you are not ripping me off i'm not stupid, goodbye.

They did replace the tyres, that much is true...
they also left me with wheels covered in what I can only presume is sealing fluid of some sort, along with marks on the barrels of my alloys (FR in what I can only presume is a chalk pen, which I haven’t been able to remove) now I know that you’re not expecting greatness but general cleanliness would have been nice.

Drove into Brighton and I had all my tyre lights come on after going over some incredibly bumpy road, I couldn't find a garage with air. The young man was happy to help me and checked all my tyres and pumped them up for me...didnt charge me so I thought I best give them a cracking review. Very very helpful and solved my tyre issues straight away ????????

Took my car for MOT and it failed: broken coil and headlight needing replacing. Quoted 550 pounds for both coils being to be replaced and advised shock absorbers also needed replacement.
Went to independent garage, paid for repeated MOT, had coils replaced ( explained shock absorbers only need replacing if faulty!!) plus lights final bill was 220 pounds!!
Not happy with service provided, and misleading report so not using this garage again.

The prices are RIDICULOUS. Simple jobs cost £100's. Absolute cheats I don't even think they know what they're doing. First time I went the check was free and I got my brake cord changed,and then the car started having even MORE problems and I brang it back again in about 2weeks. This time the check to find the problem was suddenly now £35. They wanted to charge me £40 for engine coolant which I can buy myself for more than half the price. Never again.
