Nice prices, home made food and very good overall, the service is a bit slow though. Add avocado to your order, it is worth it!

Great little cafe. The owners seems friendly, and the service received was good. Food quality wise, ingredients seemed of a good standard and the food was pretty tasty on the fry up we had. We did have to wait 20min but on a busy Sunday morning it seems many of the cafe would require a similar wait. Would definitely visit again next time!

Found this great homely breakfast cafe in The Lanes. They served a lovely well cooked, hearty breakfast.......and great value. Friendly service as well. My wife & I owned a Guest House in Brighton for 13 years.... I know a good breakfast when I taste one!!

Food was ok, but all we ordered was 3 sandwiches and ended waiting over 30 minutes. The drinks were warm and they had no ice. Music was loud, the crisps which came with the sandwich were a total of 4, as in 4 crisps. The salad was fine. I personally would like to question their claim of "Voted Best Sandwich Shop"? I've been to Subways which cost less than this, have higher quality of food and on a serious note, can make 3 sandwiches in less than 5 minutes.

Stopped at "the best sandwich shop in Brighton" today for a sandwich, only to be told "I don't think we're doing sandwiches today." After going to check we were then told that in fact there were sandwiches available! Only now I wish there hadn't been! We ordered 2 sandwiches and a jacket potato that all arrived at different times! The bread on my sandwich was very greasy (??). Staff seemed very uninterested and were in no hurry to do anything. Would not visit again!!

!!WE WAITED AN HOUR FOR TWO SANDWICHES!! Me and my girlfriend wanted somewhere nice and cosy to eat for breakfast. And that’s just what we thought this place would be when pondering where to go. Sadly, this quaint looking cafe, RUINED OUR DAY!! The horrid experience started when my girlfriend ordered a glass of water, only to find things floating around in it... It was also murky and cloudy. The same goes for me, - I ordered a cup of tea and there was fresh lime scale floating at the top of it. (When I asked the rude, dead eyed waiter for a teaspoon to remove the detritus in my mug, he seemed almost disgusting by my request). We then ordered two breakfast sandwiches. After being ignored and neglected by the manager/waitress for about 10 minutes. We genuinely waited over 45 minutes before I even started asking the manager what was going on. While we were waiting in this time, loads of other customers WHO SAT DOWN AFTER US - got their food BEFORE US!! What an absolute joke. The waitress then said we had to wait for the table next to us to get their food before they can prepare our sandwiches, because there was only one chef... It had been 50 minutes by this point. During this time, I caught a glimpse of the kitchen when the door swung open... And I was disgusted with what I saw.. A grubby, dirty kitchen with one female chef with her hair down, and wearing a dress. She wasn’t even wearing any protective chef clothing Or hair net. By 60 mins, our easy to make bacon sandwiches still hadn’t arrived .. So we decided to leave in frustration and disappointment. As we walked out, the manager chased us down the path claiming I hadn’t paid for my tea. Hahaha. How charming. You really think I should pay for your limescale filled, Luke warm tea after waiting for an hour? I still reluctantly handed over some pound coins and walked off. After this, me and my girlfriend went hungry and just decided to go about our day without breakfast. It completely ruined our morning/day and just put a downer on everything. Please. Don’t. Go. Here. Absolutely joke of a cafe.

Not a bad breakfast option if you are looking for reasonable prices and casual venue. Good milkshakes. Coffee was not great however.

Pleasant enough but sandwiches were adequate but unrefined. A little thought, maybe salad leaves and/or crisps, would enhance the experience!!

Not sure how to upload a photo but was brought 2 dirty cups of coffee, really not impressed sent the first one back after it happened again I wasn't going to bother again. I had the English breakfast which was alright. Maybe their sandwiches are better who knows, I'm not impressed won't be coming back again.

Quite expensive for a cafe given the portion sizes, i.e. a nesquik milkshake for £3, one egg with eggs royale for £9 and everything is cheap shop bought i.e. Morrison’s ketchup, nesquik, bread etc. The food itself was not terrible and so does not justify a one star, but for what you pay it is better spent elsewhere. I hope this place either changes it prices to coincide with the portions or improves the quality to justify the prices.

Had the medium breakfast which was really nice, all of it very well cooked and you could tell all the ingredients were fresh and tasted great. Prices very good in comparrison to nearby Cafes and mainstream restaurants, would highly recommend to anyone who wants an enjoyable breakfast in the heart of the lanes.

Mixed opinions on this one. Clearly a 'Brighton traffic catcher' rather than a locals haunt, this place welcomes us but sadly the next 15 minutes involved the chef (possibly owner) arguing with the front of (cafe) staff over till reports. This added said 15 minute delay to our simple sandwich order and was highly unprofessional. Many would have walked out. Ironically we discussed leaving as we had only been served tea for two after 20 mins and they had served the wrong tea also. But we stuck it out, another couple left for the same reasons we planned during this time. And this place only has 5 covers... But when the sandwiches finally arrived they were fine and we were glad we did not walk out although £5 for tea for two which was the wrong tea is not great. As this place I guess relies on passing traffic I doubt reviews make much difference to it but it could be so so so much better, DONT ARGUE IN FRONT OF GUESTS!!!

Food was okay but service was slow. Completely overpriced and misleading pricing on the menu. Don't show people the take-away price and then charge more at the end to eating in. Also the seemed to have none left of most things for other customers either. Plenty of better places to go.

This cafe is not very well run at all. We went on a Sunday morning for some brunch and we were there for at least and hour! Waited around 15mins to be served, then 3 out of the 4 breakfasts came, then were told it was a 2min wait for the 4th - turned out to be a 10-15min wait! They don't take card and are very vert slow. So many other tables left or complained whilst we were here.

They advertise breakfast for £6.50 On their window. There were three couples and me. I waited for 45 minutes for 2 poached eggs, 2 slices of toast, some jam, 2 rashers of bacon and 2 cups of coffee, the second only because I waited so long .... the bill.... £13.85.... RIP OFF

La colazione è un pasto più che abbondante ad un prezzo adeguato ma l'età dei proprietari impedisce la rapidità del servizio. Buchetto con posti solo all'esterno
