Small batch has a good rep in Brighton and hove.. Good rustic interior and all the coffees with all the milks etc.. However it depends who you get served by. My cappuccino was just warm milk... Zero foam.. Disappointing guys at 3.00 a cup.

I popped in for some lunch in a rush today. Sandwiches on the counter had no labels or prices, so I asked what they were and picked one. I went to pay for the sandwich and was told it would be £7!! I was speechless. It’s a decent size sandwich, quite nice bread and it was ok overall but an extortionate amount to pay for a simple sandwich!

This is my favourite coffee in Brighton. I’ve tried most. This is also my favourite Small Batch branch because they have the best staff.

I don’t mind this being a hipster place - the coffee has always been pretty good - but banning anyone with a laptop, ipad or tablet is too much. It’s 2020, people look at their devices, get over it. It doesn’t necessarily mean you’re “working” (which is banned here). Some people enjoy using their devices. Some even have fun on them. I did notice while sitting here than it’s ok to check your phone. I quickly checked my phone while no one looked and someone else had theirs out on their table and they didn’t get removed. But anything bigger than that and you are out (there’s even a sign in the window telling people to go elsewhere if they have a tablet or laptop). Pretty ridiculous. They’ve disappeared up their own A...

Nice coffee, limited dining options in Seven Dials branch and staff are not overly friendly in contrast to Western Road outlet. Love the idea of converted bank building.

The man who works here is amazing. He always remembers my drink and is super fast, efficient and friendly. It's my favourite coffee shop because of this. :)

I mean the pictures speak for themselves - breakfast disappeared quickly. Well presented products and good coffee. The inside of the shop could do with a makeover upstairs with the pleather seats worn through, not quite the right height and generally needing some cash spending.

Legendary place glad to finally visit but unfortunately at the end of the day so could only sample coffee. It was quite weak and hot for my liking but could see staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Trendy location. Wouldn't put me off visiting again ..

Actually open at 8:40am, so it gets an extra star, and a good enough espresso, but £2.70 is an outrage when nearby coffee@33 charges £1.90.

Nice café with a small selection of dishes. The staff were very friendly and service super fast. However, I'm not sure why they serve eggs benedict deconstructed like this? It's very pretty, but really not practical to have to move around the poached eggs and everything to build the dish yourself. The english muffin was also untoasted, so a bit soggy and stodgy, unfortunately. I think other dishes might be a better idea at this place.

The room was clean, quaint and I loved that the porthole windows opened with a great view of downtown Long Beach. We had 2 twin beds, the mattresses weren't very good but hey, they were fine for one night. The staff was very pleasant and helpful as we explored the ship. Food and drink were pricey but worth it for the ambience.

Paid for barista lessons and got exactly that. An extremely knowledgeable person that taught me so much. I couldn't recommend this enough. I have always loved small batch coffee and this experience has just made it even better for me. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

It's a good place to get a coffee to go, when you're on your way to work or school. You can also get delicious food from there or from the bakery on the other side of the street.

I like going to Small Batch for a weekend morning coffee, but I do think it’s a bit pricey for what it is. It is a nice little treat every so often! If it’s nice, sit outside and enjoy the sunshine.

This is the best small batch in Brighton in terms of staff and service. Coffee and food is amazing, goes without saying! Love that there is now the option of some egg on toast, perfect! I go here to study almost everyday and all of the staff are so lovely and friendly. I've tried other small batches (because it's the best coffee) when i'm near, however I'll always chose seven dials as my no.1 Thankyou guys! x

Getting busier because it's good! Relatively new staff settling in well and doing a great job.. I am in 3/4 times a week and always enjoy.. would prefer more breakfast rolls = only criticism! (Especially the mushroom ones) .

I used too good to go. Ahhh so disappointed. I know you should be grateful for the saving but I specifically asked the two people working if any veggie food was available. She said there is only one meaty item so between me and my housemate (who also got a too good to go) we should be OK... But no... ???? I got given 2 chicken sandwiches which I can't eat, my house mate got 1. What's a vegetarian going to do with 3 chicken sandwiches?! I'm only upset and angry because I asked before hand and the people working said I would be alright. Basically I just paid for two hard pain au chocolate. There was a lot of messing about with what bags they were going to give us. The guy working handed me a few, then the girl working swapped some of the bags (?!) its pretty obvious like in many jobs that the staff can cherry pick the good stuff. Leaving me, a sad vegetarian, with 2 chicken sandwiches and 2 hard pain au chocolate.

Did the barista course today, the man was very nice, in depth and he thought is where the coffee came from and how it is prepared. He told us how to run the machine and clean it up etc. Very nice and helpful, highly recommend if you want to do a course.

I'm not a massive fan of small batch coffee. It feels to expensive for what you're buying a lot of the time. Given the vast range of fantastic coffee shops in Brighton it's often a lot easier and cheaper to give small batch a miss in favor of a smaller but more welcoming cafe that could use local support. If you're near a small batch you're probably also near a coffee shop that you could support and give you a much more eclectic experience.

Don't get me wrong this is tasty coffee. However, there are imo a couple of much better specialty coffee shops in Brighton :)

An amazing coffee shop in the heart of Brighton's Seven Dials area. Really friendly staff. I also had a one on one coffee lesson there for an hour and a half with Max in their coffee lab. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about coffee and taught me a load of new stuff about lots of different brewing methods and coffee itself. Highly recommend a visit!

My personal favorite Small Batch. The staff here are awesome, and the building itself is cool. It's also near Flour Pot if you want to mix things up for lunch after coffee.

Nah. More expensive than London. £2.50 for a long black. Whatever. Surly staff who dont acknowledge the queue and take their time with stuff behind the counter or chatting as if customers are invisible.
