This place is our chosen Indian takeaway because its always so consistently good. Naan is soft and pillow, curry is delicious and their poppadoms are so light and crisp. They've only ever missed one item off of an order and when I phoned up, they sent a replacement straight out. Can't wait for my next takeaway!!

Ordered for the first time last night, 14th November 2020.
The delicious food arrived really quickly, very hot and absolutely delicious.
Totally recommend the Chicken tandoori and Desi chicken.
Very good value. The guy that delivered was totally charming.
Looking forward to our next order and trying out the menu.

Lovely food with very unique Indian flavours! Not as greasy as your standard takeaway, their Bhuna has a beautiful light and sweet edge to it. Will be ordering again soon!

Frist time I have used Desi, download the app very easy to use , delivery was quite quick around 25-30 min . And the food was excellent, portions are good size fresh and very tasty i will definitely be ordering more delicious food again

I ordered a lamb bhuna which did not have tomatoes in or garnished with tomatoes i phoned to find out why it had no tomatoes in to be told bhuna does not have them after checking indian takeaways as in restaurants and take aways in brighton and hove again as in more than 20 every one consists of tomatoes I was really looking forward to my Indian takeaway as ive not been able to have one my bhuna did not taste as it should so my dinner and money was wasted will not go here again and the customer skills they have are disgusting they make their own mind up on the night

Managed to get 50% of our order wrong, explained some of that simply by saying they'd changed the items included... but not on the menu. They half-heartedly said they replace some of it, wouldn't even entertain the notion of a refund... ridiculous

Ordered our first curry here last night and it will be our last.
Our food was late, my partners jalfrezi dish was missing. My chicken tikka masala didn't taste or look like one. Apparently they don't use colorings but the meat and rice were dry.
The restaurant tried to make it up to us by sending two dishes half an hour later but the food just isn't very good.
I was recommended by someone but Desi's turned out to be a disappointment. Avoid!

Restaurant is dodgy.. They will take your order on Just Eat, fob you off for over 2 hrs on the delivery - not deliver any food at all blaming the just eat system for not printing the order and then say to just eat that they completed the delivery of your food. Just Eat complaint sides with the restaurant as they say they have delivered the food and your £30 down the pan... Sounds like a reoccurring scam from this place... Avoid!!! Avoid!! Spice Bro's in Brighton are the better choice by far for a decent Indian.

total rip off.delivered food and not answering phone,lied about delivering my order.food was terrible and threw most of it in the bin.funny vinegar smell from main dish.not happy with the service took 3 hours to deliver. no apology or discount. dry or tasteless food.

The Currys were bland ( Madras and Buhna ) stodgy and orange in colour Bombay potatoes were the same, worse takeaway curry I've had.

Probably the best Indian takeaway I’ve found in Brighton! Most I’ve had have been really greasy but Desi’s weren’t oily at all, really good quality food, in particular the king prawn pasanda was delicious. Onion bhajis and mutter paneer were gorge too! Will be ordering again soon!

5 stars are not enough! Desi is phenomenal. I've been ordering consistently for two years because their chicken biryani and naan always hit the spot!! I'm a uni student who will have graduated by next year but I will definitely be travelling back to Brighton specifically for Desi's food, it's just that amazing. 1000% reccommend.

i've been a loyal customer for 2 years but i will never be ordering again after their service last night. food took 2 hours 30 minutes to arrive. i called the restaurant and the staff were short tempered and rude. i was told "just 5 minutes" 3 times over the space of an hour. no excuse for lies + rude customer service. AVOID.

I have used this place for years and have always had good food but after tonight, I won’t be using them again. I ordered the food at 7.20pm. After 3 phone calls telling me the food would be 5 minutes, then they were busy, then they couldn’t find the address, then the driver had an accident, the food turned up 2hrs and 45mins later. The food was a treat for my twins’ 7th birthday so not only did they not get fed until past 10pm, they were too tired to eat by the time it arrived. I get mistakes happen but I won’t tolerate being lied to, especially when we have been good customers for years. I won’t be using them again.

Worst curry I’ve ever experienced ! Rogan Josh was so tomatoey it didn’t even resemble a curry or taste as such. Tarka Dal so watery you had to pour it and burnt onion bhaji you couldn’t even eat. Never again

Begrudge giving the guys here even 1 star as we didn't get any food. Wouldn't of minded due to the difficult times we are in if they had just been honest with us and not fobbed us by off for 3.5 hours. Dont waste your time or money on this place.

I would have loved to give a food review however my son booked at 7.20pm for take away and have come to see him a rare occasion from london. he had arranged to meet a friend at 8.45 and guess what no food arrived ..he rang they told him it's on it's way left the kitchen not true I rang the restaurant a nice chap but sorry its late 1.30 hours expected ..but no I'm sitting on my own now with a frozen meal thanks for the experience never order from you again we have cancelled the meal and will hopefully get our money back from just eat.

Desi was my favourite Indian takeaway in Brighton.
The last four orders took much longer to arrive, which I was OK to accept as they had become more popular. But each occasion there was an item missing or smashed up, discount wasn't applied either. Shame.

When I first ordered at Desi I was so happy to have finally found a great Indian take away! And I’ve ordered for at least 2 years, the delivery has always had its ups and downs, but the staff is friendly so I almost think “maybe better next time”:)
However the last couple orders have not been good, it’s like there is a different chef. It’s a bit burned, portions changed and the sauces tastes different. So unfortunately have had to look for a new take away.

Great food, order regularly with fast arrival time. Can be busy during peak hours on Friday and Saturday night but for the price and amazing food they serve it is well worth it.
The store itself has an open window where you can watch your food being cooked and prepared. Not many take-aways or restaurants have this feature which is reassuring as to know your food isn't being messed around with.
5/5 would rate more if I could!

I became a regular there since I tried their food and was reminded of my time in India. My goal is to eat every dish they offer. The staff is very friendly and work hard to prepare all the dishes, since they get a lot of orders! I do recommend Desi's delicious food!

Had our first taste of Desi's food tonight and would wholeheartedly recommend this takeaway to anyone. We had the mixed starter and butterfly breaded king prawn. Then a lamb and chicken tikka masala with nan. Could not fault the meal.
Had our third takeaway Sunday night .oh boy what a disappointment!!! Completely the opposite to our first meal. The food was barely warm and an item was missing and when I phoned was told they were very busy so couldn't redeliver!!!hope this isn't how they treat all customers. Had only just told them how we enjoyed their food. Will think again before going back again. Shame!

We have ordered on Monday around 10.45 pm. Other places didn't even want to know. Which is stupid as most advertise opening hours till midnight.

Actually the best Indian in Brighton! After living here for 3 years I can't believe I have never experiences desi until now! I was helping my partner move in on London road and we decided to order takeaway from a leaflet that had come through the door. What can I say... The delivery guy was just great and the food was amazing! Everything tasted fantastic and a good delivery time on a bank holiday. We both highly recommend. Thank you!

After about eight years since I last ordered a Indian takeaway, I decided to grab one .Was told it was going to be 30 minutes which I didn't mind waiting for as let's face it it has been eight years..
To be honest I didn't enjoy my meal at all. The food was tasteless and bland as hell. The chicken was too over cooked and the rice was like the never ending story. Lids were not clearly marked so couldn't work out what was what especially as had three different types of rice and only ordered one..
Staff seemed to spend more time flaffing about rather than sorting out orders and it took ten minutes for what I believe to be the manager to keep taking our food out the bag and put it back in and take it out.. The naan bread was still in a dough state and undercooked.
I personally wouldn't recommend anyone order from here.. What I thought was going to be potentially exciting was just dried out processed meat and a waste of money.
Always wondered as I walked past why it is so quiet and now I know why..
I'll stick to the McDonald's round the corner next time least it's 70% cheaper for same quality food.

Service is absolutely awful, don't bother. Very late and missing half of our order, including mains. Nearly 3 hours after ordering, we still haven't received all of our order. I couldn't possibly recommend this place to anyone.
When we called to ask where the missing items were after promising they would were en route, all we got was a weak apology and an offer of free samosas.
Avoid like the plague, go to a restaurant that actually takes their business and their customers seriously.

Ordered food online at 4.15pm still isn't here at 8.20pm. Rang up 3 times told was on its way. Last time rang up to get my money back but was told it would arrive in roughly ten minutes that was over half a hour ago. Was patronised on the phone and kept being called dear I have already paid by card. Otherwise would have cancelled and gone somewhere else

Used to be really good always enjoyed the food here but recently most of my orders have been late or missed entirely. We ordered twice in as many weeks and both over 1hr 30min late, phoned up and told they miss the order on the computer, or computer is slow, or traffic is bad. Just tell the truth. You missed the order but they do nothing to compensate. Just expect me to put up with the kind of service. Last order took 1hr 54min to arrive. Was told that the order was only received 30 minutes before I callled. Yet I had in fact ordered 1hr 30 min earlier. Driver arrived and gave another excuse that two orders came at the same time and the bell went and only one order was seen. Then on checking the order the curry had leaked, the popadom in tiny pieces and the rice was missing. Was told that they would get a rice up to me but hasn’t arrived. 3hrs later and still don’t have entire order. Lots of excuses. Got a replacement curry and rice 4hr after ordering. I’ll let you decide if you want to order from here.

Beautiful curry, but my boyfriend and I have both had stomach cramps all night and all day. Possibly not the freshest curry. Sightly worried I may have food poisoning.
All the salads went straight in the bin. Soggy brown iceberg lettuce in a little sweaty bag. No thanks!
