I've been using CMC for a couple of months now and overall my impression is a positive one. There is good customer service, lots of instruments to trade, good order entry options, nice chart views and the margin requirements for each trade are clear / consistent. However, that being said, I can only give it 3 stars and here's why...
The biggest negative is that CMC does not show the volume for any of it's instruments. I don't know why this fundamental function is missing but it really does need to be added soon! If commission free platforms have this basic function then a broker which isn't commission free must have it, there is simply no excuse. The other negative is that the web platform, whilst user friendly, can be glitchy at times. As an example, some saved templates do not load in at the first time of asking. This is a minor point but again, for a broker that charges commission, I expect better and I didn't encounter these issues when using T212 or Plus500.
Overall I would say that CMC is currently a decent broker but it could be so much better (the potential is there). Once volume and the small technical glitches are addressed I would certainly increase my rating and fully recommend CMC. I just hope that these changes come sooner rather than later...

So far, it's been a great experience! I was quite disappointed at the account creation process, as I had to wait months before hearing back from them! Turns out that it was just a mistake in my application and they needed verbal confirmation.
Naimi from their support team was stellar, and helped me fix the issue super quick after I got in touch with him. One of the best support experiences I ever had.
I am excited to be working with CMC Markets now.

DISAPPOINTING, A LET DOWN. Moved from IG to go w these guys on friend's recommendation. Couldn't even place a trade as a first time customer and had to call the sales trading desks. They got back to me to say I have not been approved to trade this share, which was extremely disappointing. And I am only a small time investor? What's the point if they don't want their customers to win at all, and only willing to open up product where they know they will win? Anyhow extremely disappointed. Will be looking for another service provider. One good thins is I didn't have to wait on the phone too long to speak to someone.

I always thought trading online was the best way to trade but after the experience I and my wife had I started having double thoughts when we traded our life investment with a scam broker who manipulated our accounts and ask for more payment before withdrawal different stories of payment but no withdrawal I had to start searching for help and still deposit every dime I get hoping to get back my funds we traded the total sum of $35,000 luckily a friend of my wife gave her Mr Scott a reliable recovery agent who recovered our funds with no upfront charge in just 8 working days now I trade with Mr Scott if you are facing issues with your account or your account is being manipulated by your broker or interested in a reliable broker to trade with michaelscottjr207@gmail.com

Not happy with these, they charge a FEE if your account is inactive, never tell you about it. I am wondering what other tricks they use to grab your money. As well not easy to withdraw your own money, they require loads of paperwork.

Watching there charts you can see there is alot of manipulation for retail traders. the charts move differently compared to other cboe chart. spikes that are not matching other providers i have clear video evidence on many traded charts

I would strongly advise *not to use this platform*; their fees are outrageous and an absolute con. I was quoted 3.5% in the product information and the KIID at the point I invested. Without any notification or explanation the fees went up to 180% pa (yes 180%!) over night. Fortunately I monitor these very closely and closed this down, but I'm sure many don't and lose a lot of money. I'm genuinely surprised this is legal, perhaps the FCA should pay some attention.
Many of these other reviews are about seminars, this is primarily a trading platform not a seminar company so the reviews are misleading. Anyone that has used the platform and has their eyes open will realise (as many below do) that this is scam masked with good marking and a smart legal team to get regulated.

Scam company. They take your money no problem but do not give it to you back. You have to send them all kinds of info to get your OWN money back. Odd that they don't do this when you deposit. Scam. AVOID.

Over 18 years with them, there is no minimum contract, never have any problems.
Payment fast via debit card, withdrawal every time back to debit card in under 3 days.
Platform is the best, has everything built in with no messing about and keep everything up to date.

They lie and charge you fees for funding accoutn via any credit card and claim not to know why - my banktold me they have set their payments wrongly so thewy know what they are doing, very decietful and dodgy!

Over 3 years with them. Never any problems. payment fast via visa debit card. withdrawal every time back to debit card in under 3 days. live chat and email excellent. platform has to be the best. better then meta trader platform by miles because you can have 10 separate order tickets then place 10 new ones with just 1 click on each ticket. no need to mess around with meta trader login details and change leverage. CMC has everything built in with no messing about. ill keep this review up to date.

I usually trade on CME with Ninjatrader which is the Gold Standard for traders in terms of transparency and platform functionality/versatility respectively. I have traditionally avoided spread betting because of its reputation.
CMC is the closest option in the SB arena to this Standard. Customer service is pro-active, the platform is stable (using Chrome), spreads are competitive and the general experience is market leading.
However, as a No Dealing Desk provider - when the underlying market is closed, it does not make a market; so for indices like US30, DAX or FTSE no trading is available on Sat/Sun or Bank Hols. This puts CMC customers at a disadvantage in relation to IG Index.
IG Index makes a market pretty much 24/7 - and what goes on within this internal market is then transferred to the underlying market at the open. Hence, any open CMC (et al) positions can be put under threat, without the ability to react.
This is not a criticism of CMC - but of regulators. To allow IG to make a market by taking the other side of clients’ trades - and then apply this activity to the underlying market ... well, it's irregular to say the lease - and in a highly regulated environment, probably unsustainable.
My only criticism of CMC, which is more a criticism of NDD firm's in general, is why they allow IG to get away with it!

Transfered £2000 in to stop the account going into liquidation, the system said that the payment had gone through. When I woke up the next morning £12000 had been lost as the £2000 hadn't gone through. When I spoke to Silvie she asked why had I left it so long to sort out?

That company is strongly suspected to have a blacklist of people in order to impede them to open an account.
This is illegal, discriminatory and abusive.
For example, that company refused to open an account to a clean trader who refused to provide personal data from his passport.
Processes of that company are absolutely delirious and must be sentenced by a court.
Several complaints will be lodged soon.
