Rude, obnoxious, unhelpful staff. Bought a 43" Samsung TV. After unpacking I realised the TV stand was way too large and wanted to exchange with another model within the 30 days return policy. We meticulously put the TV back in its original packaging and took it all the way to the shop. We had previously called customer service (which btw isnt a free number) and were transparent about the fact that the packaging had been unsealed. They assured us they'll be able to refund/exchange providing that TV was not defective. When arriving in the shop we were really badly greeted by the manager. Very rude and unwelcoming person. We explained the situation and reason for wanting to exchange. You know where this is going: he refused to take the TV because the packaging had been opened. Who keeps a TV in its packaging for 30 days? What kind of policy is that to begin with? I was disappointed to say the least but his unapologetic and borderline condescending response made it so much worse. We shamefully carried the tv out of the shop and took it back home. Really unhappy customer. Unnecessary stressful and uncomfortable experience.

Ebay parcel dropped off at argos store to pick up, showed the email, they hand wrote my confirmation ID into a notepad (strange). Their system was having problems so you'd think they would just give the parcel to the eagerly waiting customer that it belongs to as not to hold them up longer than needed. No thats not the case - they will insist you have to call ebay to rectify their system error, they will insist you wait until their error has been fixed, you would assume your tracking id number they wrote into their notepad would be enough to mark your parcel as collected later on when fixed. NO 10 minutes has passed and your still waiting, the 'manager on duty' needs a lesson in productivity, its slower than euro car parts in there.

Remarkably unhelpful staff. I was having an issue with the website and it instructed me to go into store to purchase the item directly. COVID based restrictions prevented us from buying the product directly from the store, which was frustrating but understandable. The gentleman in the shop displayed no interest in helping us, and when I asked 'So if I try and buy it again on my phone now, could I collect it immediately?' and he replied 'Well yeah, but we close in 3 minutes' with a smirk growing on his face. Both myself and other customer appeared to be having the same issue and shared my frustration at this man who was obviously more interested in clocking out on time than helping the customers he is paid to assist. When I asked how to proceed in purchasing the item he offered no further assistance other than a shrug, and turned around to continue closing the shutters behind him. Truly awful service, avoid this Argos at all costs. 1 star is generous.

Not sure about the negative reviews, but have been in a couple of times recently for a collection and an exchange of a faulty product and both times staff have been super helpful and professional.

The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. The manager told me it ‘wasn’t his job’ to sort the issue with my order, despite the money coming out of my bank and calling them in front of him to make it evident I’d been charged 3 times for an item (with only 1 in stock) and no TC number - so no item!! He gave me a customer service number to call, which was closed, instead of trying to help me. I’ll never return. Also, some of the staff members found it funny that I was having issues and one of the boys, with long ginger hair in his early 20s, stood beside the manager grinning constantly and making jokes with other members of staff.

Instead to help you with your query (since you bought an item from them), they give you a phone to call on it. Needless to say, you can wait minutes and minutes to speak with an operator, only to realize in the end that you are in the loop. Waste of money and time.

I have placed recently an order for a slot in the evening and it was a failed delivery. I have just received 2 different messages then that the order was rescheduled and cancelled --one on my email that it was rescheduled and cancelled, and one on my phone --that it was cancelled and rescheduled. Quite confusing. Open to interpretation. After 9 days, I still have no delivery or a refund. I have contacted Argos customer service and I still wait for their reply.
